If you want to describe a game idea and get a playable browser draft to refine, Rosebud is the clearest fit among these options. For visual, no-code game logic and an explicit HTML5 export route, consider GDevelop. If your goal is specifically a Roblox experience, Roblox Creator Hub templates offer editable starting projects—but the documentation reviewed does not establish them as general HTML5 games.
This is a feature-based guide using vendor documentation checked on October 7, 2026, not a hands-on quality or performance comparison. The right choice depends on how you want to start and where you intend to publish.
Which tool fits the way you want to build?
| Tool | Starting point and workflow | Browser publishing | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rosebud | Describe an idea, start from a template, or remix a community game; iterate with AI in the browser. Rosebud says it generates code and assets. | Rosebud describes publishing a playable link. Its 3D games use WebGL and Three.js. | Creators who want a prompt-led first draft and browser-based iteration. |
| GDevelop | Build with visual condition-and-action events, templates, ready-made behaviors, and assets; AI assistance is optional. | GDevelop describes exporting HTML5 games for websites and online game platforms. | Creators who prefer visual no-code logic and want an HTML5 export route. |
| Roblox Creator Hub templates | Edit a starter Roblox game with default objects and systems, such as platformer, racing, or laser-tag setups. | The reviewed template documentation does not establish ordinary HTML5 export or publishing to general web-game portals. | Creators who specifically want to make a Roblox experience. |
Rosebud: generate and refine a browser-playable draft
Rosebud is the closest match if “make a game with AI” means beginning with a plain-language idea rather than an empty project. Its AI game creator describes generating game code, art, and sound, then playtesting and iterating in the browser. Its online game maker offers three entry points: a template, a community game to remix, or an original idea. Rosebud says projects live in the cloud and finished games can be shared as links.
For 3D projects, Rosebud describes WebGL games powered by Three.js. Its 3D game maker lists 3D world, 2D playground, and AI-character templates, as well as remixing published games. These are vendor-described capabilities; no independent comparison establishes how well the generated games perform or how much editing a particular project will need.

What you still need to do
A prompt or remix provides a starting structure, not a finished design. Choose the core mechanic, test whether it behaves as intended, and refine the result. Before publishing a commercial project, check Rosebud’s current plan terms: the company describes commercial usage rights on specified paid plans, not as a universal feature of every plan.
GDevelop: visual logic with an HTML5 export route
GDevelop is an open-source no-code engine for 2D and 3D games, with optional AI assistance. Its event system uses conditions (“If”) and actions (“Then”), allowing you to assemble game behavior visually. Templates, ready-made behaviors and extensions, tutorials, and ready-to-use assets can help you avoid building every element from scratch; JavaScript is available for creators who want to extend projects with code.
Rank #2
GDevelop says it can export HTML5 games for websites and online game platforms, as well as offer desktop and mobile publishing options. The product page lists more than 130 ready-made behaviors and extensions and more than 2,000 ready-to-use assets. These are GDevelop-published figures checked on October 7, 2026, not independently audited catalog counts.
Choose GDevelop if you would rather assemble and adjust a game through visible rules than rely primarily on conversational AI. Its HTML5 export route is distinct from a hosted playable link: export gives you a game package to publish through a website or platform, while Rosebud describes sharing a link to a hosted game.

Roblox templates: a starter project for Roblox, not a general web-game maker
Roblox Creator Hub defines templates as editable games with default objects that provide a starting project. Documented examples include a platformer with common movement mechanics, laser tag and FPS systems, racing, and line runner. That can save setup time when the intended destination is Roblox.
Keep the platform distinction in mind: the reviewed documentation describes Roblox Studio templates, but does not establish that they produce ordinary HTML5 games or export to unrelated browser-game portals. Pick this route for a Roblox experience, not as a substitute for an HTML5 game export workflow.

How to choose a starter without losing control of the game
- Decide how you want to begin. Rosebud supports prompts, templates, and remixes; GDevelop offers templates and reusable behaviors; Roblox provides platform-specific starter games.
- Match the workflow to your comfort level. Rosebud emphasizes prompt-led creation and iteration. GDevelop centers on visual condition/action logic, with JavaScript available for extension. Roblox templates are edited as Roblox projects.
- Check what “publish” means. Rosebud describes sharing a playable link; GDevelop documents HTML5 export; Roblox’s reviewed template documentation does not establish general HTML5 publishing.
- Confirm assets and rights. Determine whether the project uses generated assets, included assets, premium packs, or materials you supply. Check the vendor’s current plan limits and commercial-use terms before monetizing a game.
A template, remix, or generated draft reduces the amount of setup, but it does not remove the need to choose mechanics, test behavior, and refine the result. Feature sets, asset counts, plan limits, publishing options, and commercial terms can change, so verify current details on the linked vendor pages before committing to a project.
