Early in ARC Raiders, the best loot is usually whatever advances an active quest or your next workshop upgrade—not a fixed list of rare items. Prioritize objective items and useful progression finds, then take blueprints and materials you can use soon. Leave room to move and extract before marginal loot turns a good run into a risky one.

What should you prioritize on an early run?

Use this order as a flexible rule, not an official ranking. A current objective, crafting plan, loadout, backpack space, and route risk can change which find matters most.

  1. Items requested by an active quest or contract. Check the objective before you sell or recycle a find; a seemingly ordinary item may be needed for progression. The ARC Raiders Hub resources guide advises keeping quest items and checking requirements before disposing of materials.
  2. Materials for your next workshop step. Favor components that complete a station upgrade or recipe you intend to use soon. Materials support workshop crafting, and the ARC Raiders Hub workshop reference describes stations such as the Medical Lab, which crafts healing items and has specific upgrade requirements. Avoid collecting every material without a near-term use.
  3. Blueprints you want to craft from. Blueprints unlock specific crafts. The workshop reference says they can be found in locked-room containers or obtained through quests, and you must extract with one before it can unlock a station recipe. If you find a blueprint for gear you want, treat getting it out safely as a priority.
  4. Common materials for basic crafting. These can help establish your early crafting options. If you are under-equipped, the TheArcRaiders.com beginner guide recommends safer areas and less-contested routes for early progression rather than chasing every high-risk find.
  5. Healing and ammunition that fit your current kit. A beginner guide’s example insertion loadout includes a health kit and two stacks of ammunition. That is loadout guidance, not a reason to hoard supplies that do not suit your weapon or needs.
  6. Items to sell, if they justify their space. High-value sale loot can be useful, but compare its credit value with any crafting use and the room it takes up. A sale item should not displace a required quest item or a component you need for your next upgrade.

How to choose between competing items

When two finds cannot both fit, compare them by what they do for this run and what it costs to carry them:

  • Objective value: Is one explicitly required for an active quest or contract?
  • Progression value: Does one complete an upgrade or unlock a recipe you plan to use?
  • Use in your loadout: Will the healing, ammunition, or gear help with the kit you brought?
  • Chance of extracting safely: Is keeping the item worth remaining in the raid or taking a riskier route?
  • Space and weight: Is it light or stackable, or does it crowd out a more useful find?
  • Credit value: If it is only for sale, do the credits justify its inventory cost?

Why inventory space and extraction matter

Loot has a carrying cost. The resources guide warns that weight can affect movement when you exceed the limit, and a crowded backpack leaves less room for better finds. Set a goal before deployment, reserve space for likely objective or progression loot, and be willing to drop low-value scrap when it is weighing you down. The ARC Raiders Hub beginner guide likewise advises abandoning low-value items when overwhelmed to preserve mobility.

Do not extend a dangerous run just to collect marginal loot. If you have secured what the run was meant to accomplish, extracting with useful items is often better than gambling them for another minor find. This matters especially for a blueprint: ARC Raiders Hub says it must be extracted before it can be consumed to unlock its recipe, and recommends putting it in the Safe Pocket so it survives a failed run.

Should you recycle or sell loot?

Choose based on whether you need components or credits. Recycle an item when its materials contribute to a relevant craft or upgrade; sell it when credits are more useful and it has no near-term progression role. The ARC Raiders Hub resource guide lists recycling returns of 50% during a raid and 100% in Speranza, while its loot reference distinguishes in-raid salvaging from recycling in Speranza. Those percentages come from an unofficial, third-party reference and may change with game updates, so check the current in-game item details before relying on them. When feasible, bringing a recyclable item back to Speranza is preferable to salvaging it in the raid if you want its full listed return.

How much loot do you actually need?

A large checklist is a planning aid, not a target for one early run. In a November 11, 2025 PC Gamer guide, Rory Norris counted 62 unique items needed across quests, Scrappy, workshop upgrades, and the Expedition Project; together, that checklist covered 1,195 materials. Its scope reflects that guide’s checklist and game state. It does not mean you should extract all 1,195 materials before progressing.

How current are item priorities?

ARC Raiders is a live-service game, so exact recipes, loot locations, values, and priorities can shift with patches. HowToPlayHub labels its loot guide as updated September 11, 2026 and verified through patch 1.44.0, while noting that seasonal changes can affect loot tables and weapon balance. The ARC Raiders Hub references are unofficial. For a specific recipe or item requirement, use the current in-game description rather than assuming a third-party guide remains up to date.
