Start with a target that fits your PC
Embark’s published PC requirements are reference targets, not guaranteed results for every match or system. Its requirements page, last updated October 1, 2025, gives these tiers:

Embark’s PC requirements describe intended configurations; they do not promise that a listed GPU will deliver the target in every situation. Steam’s ARC Raiders listing also specifies DirectX 12 and broadband internet, and lists 12 GB RAM minimum and 16 GB recommended.

Choose resolution and scaling for clarity first
Use native resolution when performance is stable
Begin at your display’s native resolution if your PC can maintain the frame-rate target you care about. This avoids introducing scaling softness while you assess the game’s baseline image quality.

Try Quality upscaling if frame rate falls short
If the native-resolution result is not smooth enough, test an available upscaler at Quality before trying a more aggressive scaling level. Lower internal resolutions can soften fine and distant detail, which may make objects harder to distinguish. Options vary by hardware; third-party guidance discusses DLSS, FSR 3 and XeSS, but not every GPU supports every option. NVIDIA describes DLSS, Reflex and RTX Global Illumination support for compatible NVIDIA hardware in its ARC Raiders Headwinds update driver announcement. That vendor information is not evidence that a feature is available on all systems or is the best choice for every player.
Find the performance limit before changing settings
- Record your baseline. Note your resolution, display refresh rate, GPU and the frame-rate target you want to hold. Choose a route or scene you can revisit for comparisons.
- Check the in-game performance overlay. Use it to see whether performance appears limited by the GPU, CPU render work or CPU game work. The overlay can help focus your tests, but it does not by itself prove which setting will fix a slowdown.
- Change one option at a time. Revisit the same location or route and compare the result. This is a practical troubleshooting method, not a controlled benchmark or a guarantee that a change will behave the same in every match.
- Reassess after updates. If a game patch or driver change alters performance, repeat your checks and consult the current driver channel for your GPU vendor.
iTechGuides’ October 7, 2026 guidance also recommends using the overlay and making incremental changes; it explicitly does not establish one tested preset for every system. Its advice is a workflow, not proof of a universal best configuration.

Balance detail, visibility and GPU load
Third-party guides identify several settings as candidates to test, not developer-certified adjustments. If the overlay suggests a GPU limit, consider reducing expensive or visually busy effects while preserving detail that helps you read the scene:
- View distance: Keep it high if your system can manage it; distant detail can matter when scanning an area.
- Textures: Keep them as high as available video memory allows. If the game exceeds what your GPU can handle, lower them and compare.
- Ray-traced lighting, shadows, post-processing and effects: Test reductions if GPU load is the problem. The impact varies by system and current build.
- Fog and foliage: These may affect how clearly you can see through a scene. ArcStatus suggests reducing them, but that is optional third-party advice, not a verified competitive advantage.
- Field of view: ArcStatus suggests an FOV of 80. Treat that as a starting point to test for comfort and visibility, not a proven ideal or a guarantee that opponents will be easier to spot.
CloudsPress’ August 8, 2026 recommendations similarly favor native resolution when stable, Quality scaling when needed, high view distance, and lower shadows, post-processing and effects. These are editorial suggestions, not controlled comparisons or official Embark settings. No cited source establishes reliable FPS gains for individual settings across hardware configurations.

When an upgrade may be worth considering
First tune the PC you have and compare its performance with the target you actually want. If it still falls short, use Embark’s tiers as a rough hardware reference for your resolution and settings—not as an individualized purchase recommendation. The listed Epic-tier GPU examples are an RTX 4070 Ti or RTX 5070, or Radeon RX 7900 XTX, paired with the other hardware in that tier. A GPU model alone does not guarantee a particular frame rate; check current compatibility, availability and pricing before making a purchase decision.
