For a comfortable starting point, use a stable frame-rate target, FOV 80 on PC, DLSS Quality or Balanced with Frame Generation on for NVIDIA hardware, or FSR Balanced for AMD hardware. Set global illumination to Static, volumetric fog and foliage to Low, post-processing and effects to Low, and view distance to High or Epic. On PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, use the highest comfortable field of view available, disable motion blur, and raise brightness only enough to reveal dark areas. These settings are a community baseline rather than developer-certified numbers, so validate the result on your own display and hardware.
A balanced starting profile
ARC Raiders rewards a readable image and consistent frame times more than a briefly impressive peak frame rate. The profile below is designed for casual players and people returning after a break. It reduces visual clutter without turning every surface into a low-detail blur.

| Setting | PC starting point | PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S | Reason |
|---|---|---|---|
| Field of view | 80 | Highest value that remains comfortable | Wider peripheral awareness; excessive values can feel distorted or make aiming uncomfortable. |
| Upscaling | DLSS Quality or Balanced with Frame Generation on for NVIDIA; FSR Balanced for AMD | Use the console options available and prioritize a stable image | Recovers performance while retaining readable text and distant geometry. |
| Global illumination | Static | Use the available console preset | Reduces lighting cost while preserving a clear scene. |
| Volumetric fog | Low | Use the available console preset | Less haze makes movement and silhouettes easier to read. |
| Foliage | Low | Use the available console preset | Removes some visual obstruction and reduces rendering work. |
| Post-processing and effects | Low | Use the available console preset | Limits blur, bloom and other effects that can obscure short visual cues. |
| View distance | High or Epic | Use the highest available option | Keeps distant geometry and targets from appearing abruptly. |
| Motion blur | Off if the option is available | Off | Preserves temporal clarity while turning or tracking a target. |
| Brightness | Raise only until dark areas are visible | Raise only until dark areas are visible | Prevents crushed shadows without washing out highlights. |
Change one item at a time and play in the same type of area after each change. A setting that looks excellent in a quiet room may behave differently during a large fight, when smoke, effects and several players put the greatest load on the system.

A high instantaneous frame rate does not guarantee a smooth game. A system that jumps between very high and very low frame rates can feel less responsive than one that holds a lower, even cadence. Choose the target your hardware can sustain during busy encounters rather than copying a competitive preset.

One current community guide lists 144–200+ FPS as a competitive target. That range is advice for players pursuing competitive performance, not a requirement for casual play and not a publisher statistic. If your screen and hardware cannot hold it consistently, lowering image quality solely to display a larger counter may make ARC Raiders less pleasant to play.
Use the in-game performance overlay
ARC Raiders’ detailed performance overlay separates three possible limits:
- CPU-Game: time spent on game simulation and gameplay work.
- CPU-Render: time spent preparing rendering commands on the processor.
- GPU: time spent drawing the image on the graphics processor.
Watch the overlay while moving through a demanding area, then make a single change and check again. If the overlay identifies CPU-Game as the limit, lowering graphics quality will not solve that particular constraint. If GPU is the limit, reducing rendering resolution or other GPU-heavy options is the useful direction. CPU-Render points to a processor-side rendering bottleneck; reducing scene complexity can help, but an extreme low-quality preset cannot create CPU capacity that the game simulation itself needs.
A repeatable tuning loop
- Load a representative location, preferably one with long sightlines and enough activity to reproduce the slowdown.
- Record the frame-rate behavior and which overlay line is highest.
- Change one option that addresses that limit.
- Return to the same type of location and compare smoothness, not only the highest number on the counter.
- Keep the change only if it improves consistency without making text, silhouettes or distant geometry difficult to read.
PC graphics settings, in the order to change them
1. Establish a readable baseline
Start with the balanced profile rather than setting every option to Low. Keep view distance at High or Epic so distant objects do not pop into view, then reduce the options that add the most haze and visual clutter: volumetric fog, foliage, post-processing and effects. Static global illumination is the recommended starting point in the current community guidance.
This approach preserves information that matters during exploration and combat. A very low view distance can make the scene look clean at close range while causing late-loading geometry or targets farther away to appear suddenly.
2. Choose an upscaler mode you can still read
For NVIDIA hardware, try DLSS Quality first, then Balanced if the GPU remains the limiting component. Enable Frame Generation when it is available and the resulting motion feels stable. For AMD hardware, FSR Balanced is the cited starting point.

Upscaling is a compromise: it can increase performance by rendering internally at a lower resolution, but aggressive modes may soften lettering, thin edges and distant shapes. If you cannot read interface text or distinguish a far-off silhouette, move back toward a higher-quality mode before lowering additional options.

These DLSS and FSR recommendations come from community guidance. Embark has not published a complete official, item-by-item PC graphics list, so exact behavior can vary by hardware, game update and driver. Treat the named modes as sensible tests, not guarantees.
3. Reduce GPU-heavy image clutter
Low volumetric fog, Low foliage and Low post-processing/effects are the main visibility-oriented changes in the community baseline. They are useful when you lose a target in haze, vegetation or screen effects, and they can also reduce GPU work. Make the changes separately so you can tell which one improves your frame time and which one merely changes the look.
4. Keep view distance high
High or Epic view distance is intentionally paired with the lower clutter settings. It protects long-range readability and reduces target pop-in. If the GPU overlay remains the limit after lowering fog, foliage and effects, reduce rendering resolution or the upscaler quality before sacrificing view distance, unless distant detail is not important to the way you play.
5. Set FOV for awareness and comfort
FOV 80 is the cited PC starting point. A wider view can reveal more peripheral movement, but it also makes objects appear smaller and may introduce a stretched or uncomfortable look. Increase or decrease it in small steps and spend enough time moving and aiming to judge whether the change helps. There is no reason to force a wide value that causes eye strain or makes precise aiming harder.
6. Remove motion blur and tune brightness
Motion blur can make camera movement and fast turns harder to parse. Disable it if the control is available, especially if you are returning to the game and the image feels smeared. Brightness should be raised conservatively: the goal is to reveal information in dark areas while retaining visible separation in bright areas, not to make every shadow gray.

Console settings for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S
Console versions expose fewer individual graphics controls than PC. The official ARC Raiders site confirms availability on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, with cross-platform social play. Because there are fewer knobs to tune, concentrate on the settings that most directly affect comfort and information.
Recommended console order
- Set the highest FOV the game allows that you can use comfortably for a full session.
- Turn motion blur off.
- Adjust brightness in a dark area until details are visible, then check a bright area to ensure highlights are not washed out.
- Use the console’s available performance or quality choice according to your priority, favoring the mode that feels consistent rather than the one that looks best in a static scene.
- Play a normal match or expedition and reassess before changing anything else.
Console players should not expect the PC recommendations for DLSS, FSR, global illumination, fog or foliage to appear as separate controls. Use the closest available preset and focus on FOV, motion blur, brightness, audio and accessibility options.
Audio: whether Night Mode helps footsteps
Night Mode is not a universal competitive advantage. PC Gamer describes it as dynamic-range compression: loud sounds such as gunshots and explosions become quieter while soft sounds such as footsteps become louder. That can make low-level cues easier to hear at a comfortable volume, particularly when you play late at night or cannot use a loud output level.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →The trade-off is positional information. Compression can muddy the difference between near and far sounds, blur left-right or front-back distance cues and raise the apparent level of ambient noise. A louder footstep is not automatically a more useful footstep if you can no longer judge where it came from.
How to test Night Mode
- Choose the output device you actually use, such as headphones or stereo speakers, before comparing modes.
- Set effects loud enough to hear ordinary movement without making gunfire uncomfortable.
- Play a short section with Night Mode off and listen for direction, distance and timing of footsteps, reloads and impacts.
- Repeat with Night Mode on at the same overall comfortable volume.
- Keep the mode that gives you clearer directional decisions, not simply the mode that produces the loudest footsteps.
ARC Raiders exposes separate controls for effects, music, dialogue, party chat and proximity chat. Keep effects prominent enough to preserve gameplay information, then lower music or voice channels if they mask those cues. Configure party and proximity voice separately so a busy nearby conversation does not force you to reduce all game audio.
Controls, subtitles and accessibility
Accessibility settings are information and comfort tools, not requirements for a competitive preset. ARC Raiders exposes subtitles, colorblind mode, flash-color inversion and font-size controls alongside its audio options.

- Flash-color inversion: Use the alternative flash presentation if bright effects are uncomfortable or difficult to interpret.
- Headphones/stereo output: Select the output that matches your actual device before judging Night Mode or proximity audio.
Change one accessibility option at a time and verify it in real play. A setting can improve legibility for one type of visual cue while making another less distinct, so comfort and reliable recognition are the deciding tests.
Profiles for different priorities
| Profile | Use these choices | Best for | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|---|
| Balanced casual | FOV 80 on PC; DLSS Quality or Balanced with Frame Generation on for NVIDIA, FSR Balanced for AMD; Static global illumination; Low volumetric fog, foliage and post-processing/effects; High or Epic view distance | Players who want a clear image and dependable smoothness | Some lighting and environmental detail are reduced. |
| Visibility-first | Keep Low volumetric fog, Low foliage and Low post-processing/effects; retain High or Epic view distance; use the highest upscaler quality your GPU can sustain | Players who lose targets in haze or clutter | Performance may be lower than with a more aggressive upscaler or lower view distance. |
| GPU-limited | Keep the visibility settings low; reduce rendering resolution or upscaler quality after confirming GPU limitation in the overlay; preserve view distance as long as frame time allows | Systems whose overlay identifies GPU as the limiting component | The image can become softer, especially with a more aggressive upscaler. |
| CPU-limited | Do not expect lower visual quality to fix a CPU-Game limit; test scene-complexity reductions one at a time and use a sustainable frame-rate target | Systems showing CPU-Game or CPU-Render pressure | There may be no graphics option that removes a game-simulation bottleneck. |
| Quiet-room audio | Standard dynamic range first; compare Night Mode only if soft cues are hard to hear; keep effects distinct from music and voice | Players able to use a comfortable headphone or speaker volume | Night Mode may not add useful information and can reduce distance clarity. |
| Low-volume or late-night audio | Test Night Mode at a comfortable overall volume; compare directional clarity rather than loudness | Players who need quieter gunfire and more audible soft sounds | Compression can raise ambient noise and muddy positioning. |
Returning-player reset checklist
Updates, a new display or a different headset can make an old configuration feel wrong. Use this short reset before chasing advanced tweaks:
- Confirm whether you are on PC, PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S, then note which controls that platform actually exposes.
- Set the output device correctly and verify effects, party chat and proximity chat independently.
- Turn motion blur off and set FOV to a comfortable starting value rather than copying someone else’s exact number.
- Restore the balanced graphics profile, then open the performance overlay on PC.
- Identify whether CPU-Game, CPU-Render or GPU is the limiting line.
- Change only the options that address that limit, beginning with fog, foliage, post-processing/effects or rendering resolution when appropriate.
- Check distant readability after every change; do not let a cleaner close-up image hide target pop-in.
- Test Night Mode separately from graphics settings and keep it only if directional audio improves for you.
- Enable subtitles, larger text, colorblind options or flash-color inversion when they improve recognition or comfort.
What is confirmed, and what remains community guidance
The official game site confirms the supported platforms and cross-platform social play. It does not provide a complete official breakdown of every PC graphics option or certify the exact values in community presets.
Tutorial.Games specifically notes that claims about exact upscaler modes, ray tracing, frame caps and texture tiers are not listed in Embark’s official documentation. That is why this guide treats FOV 80, the named DLSS and FSR modes, Static global illumination, Low fog, Low foliage, Low post-processing/effects and High/Epic view distance as practical starting points rather than guaranteed universal answers.
Menu labels and available options can change with updates, hardware and platform. If a setting named here is absent, use the closest available control and judge the result through frame-time stability, visual clarity and comfort.

Why unsupported console commands do not belong in a settings guide
Do not rely on hidden console commands or configuration edits to obtain visual advantages. GamesRadar reported that Embark removed the “NewConsole” command in a hotfix. Embark community lead Ossen said: “This feature was never meant to be player-facing. We’re continuing to investigate related reports and may take action where appropriate to protect fair play and the integrity of the game.”
Best Value
- Compatible with Wide Screens - To ensure compatibility with the dual monitor mount, your each monitor must meet three conditions at the same time: First, computer screens size range: 13 to 32 inches. Second, screen weight range: 4.4 to 19.8 lbs. Third, the back of the monitor screen must have VESA mounting holes with a pitch of 75x75mm or 100x100mm.
- Regarding the compatibility with desks - Your desk must meet three conditions at the same time: First, desk material: Only wooden desks are recommended, plastic or glass desks cannot be used. Second, desk thickness range: 0.59" - 3.54". Third, the bottom of the desk should not have any cross beams or panels, as this will interfere with installation. We recommend carefully checking that your desk and monitors meets all above conditions before purchasing.
- Dual C-Clamp Hold - Worried your dual monitors might wobble or slip? Our upgraded base uses a larger platform plus a dual C-clamp structure to lock the dual monitor arm firmly to your desk. Each arm safely keeps your screens steady while you type, click and game—no shaking, no sliding, just a clean and secure setup you can trust every day. It also provides Grommet Mounting installation choice, both options ensure stable and secure fixation for your 0.59" - 3.54" desk.
- Full-Motion Adjustment For Comfortable View - Pull the screen closer when you’re deep in a spreadsheet, push it back to watch videos, or rotate to portrait for coding — moving everything smoothly with just one hand. The monitor stand offers +85°/-50° tilt, ±90° swivel and 360° rotation. Raise your monitor up to 15.75″ to support a healthy sitting posture. Whether you’re working from home, gaming through the night, or switching between video calls and documents, getting the screens to your natural line of sight helps relieve neck, shoulder and back strain so you can stay focused longer with less fatigue.
- Keep Your Desk Organized: By lifting both screens off the desktop, this dual monitor stand opens up valuable space for your keyboard, notebook, docking station or a simple, clutter-free work area. Built-in cable management guides wires along the arms, keeping cords out of sight and out of the way. Enjoy a tidy, modern workstation that looks as good as it feels to use.
Use the normal in-game settings instead. Unsupported commands can stop working after an update, create unexpected behavior or raise fair-play concerns. They are not a dependable substitute for identifying your actual performance limit.
Troubleshooting common problems
The game still stutters after lowering quality
Check the overlay before lowering more options. A CPU-Game limit will not be fixed by reducing GPU quality. If the limit is GPU, try rendering-resolution or upscaler changes; if it is CPU-Render, test scene-complexity reductions and a sustainable frame-rate target. Make one change at a time so you can identify the cause.
The picture is too soft after enabling upscaling
Move from an aggressive mode toward DLSS Quality, a higher-quality available mode or the equivalent FSR option. Check interface text and distant geometry, not only the center of the screen. A small performance loss is worthwhile if it restores reliable target recognition.
Recommended Free Tools
Targets disappear in vegetation or haze
Confirm that foliage and volumetric fog are Low and that post-processing/effects are restrained. Keep view distance High or Epic if the GPU allows it. If the problem is caused by a specific effect rather than overall performance, changing that single option is better than dropping every setting.
Night Mode makes audio louder but less useful
Return to standard dynamic range and compare at the same comfortable volume. Listen for distance and direction, not the absolute loudness of footsteps. Lower music or voice channels separately if they mask effects rather than compressing the entire mix.
Dark areas are visible but bright areas look gray
Lower brightness slightly and check both a dark interior and a bright exterior. Brightness is a display-calibration aid, not a replacement for visibility settings; the correct value preserves shadow information without eliminating highlight contrast.
Bottom line for casual and returning players
Start with the balanced profile, watch the performance overlay and adjust according to the identified bottleneck. On PC, prioritize Static global illumination, Low volumetric fog, Low foliage, Low post-processing/effects, High or Epic view distance and a readable DLSS or FSR mode around FOV 80. On consoles, concentrate on comfortable FOV, motion blur off and restrained brightness. Treat Night Mode as a personal audio test, and keep accessibility controls that make information easier to read or hear. The best ARC Raiders settings are the ones that hold a stable frame time while preserving the visual and directional cues you can actually use.
