There is no single best Palworld base location for every multiplayer server. The strongest choice depends on whether you need a safe starter home, ore and coal, crude oil, sulfur, quartz, or an endgame production site. For most groups, the practical answer is a three-base plan: a flat production base, a dedicated ore-and-coal base, and a specialist resource outpost. The locations below are based on guide reports for Palworld 1.0, which launched on July 10, 2026. Coordinates vary between maps and guides, so verify each spot in your own world before placing a Palbox.
Quick location list
The table gives the reported coordinates and the job each location is best suited to. Node counts are guide-author observations rather than published game statistics, and all coordinates should be checked in-game because different map references use slightly different readings.

How to choose a base for a shared server
Match the base to the resource bottleneck
Ask what is slowing the guild down this week. A starter settlement needs food, wood, stone, Paldium and a defensible building footprint. A mid-game industrial settlement needs ore and coal close enough for automated mining. An ammunition operation needs sulfur, while advanced crafting may justify a quartz outpost. Oil locations become valuable only after your technology and defenses can support them.
Separate production from extraction
One giant base looks convenient but creates pathing congestion, more structures to render, and a single point of failure during a raid. A more reliable multiplayer layout is:

- Node base: a compact ore-and-coal site where mining Pals can work without competing with dozens of other tasks.
- Resource outpost: a sulfur, quartz, Pal Oil or oil-rig base used only when that resource is needed.
This split also lets the guild move high-level workers away from a resource site when a raid is imminent, instead of risking every important Pal in one settlement.
Best early-game bases
Windswept Plateau or the Windswept Hills basin
This is the safest default for a first shared base. One guide places the plateau around (100, -150); another identifies a basin at (230, -486). Both descriptions point to the same advantages: proximity to the starting area, mostly level ground, natural defensive features and a balanced spread of basic materials. The basin report specifically lists wood, stone, a small ore cluster, berries and Paldium inside the base radius.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsUse the flatter section for the Palbox, storage and production buildings. Leave a clear lane between the entrance and the work area so raid waves and wild creatures do not collide with farms or crafting stations. Because the coordinate references disagree, treat the numbers as search points rather than an exact placement instruction.
Golden Hills
Golden Hills at (0, -524) is a strong alternative when the group wants a home that feels self-sufficient. A player report describes dense forest, tightly clustered ore nodes and enough room for food, wood and stone production. It is especially attractive when several players are still gathering manually and do not yet have the workforce for a dedicated mining base.
Clear only the trees needed for your initial footprint. Keeping some forest nearby reduces the distance for early logging while leaving space for later expansion. As your guild moves into automated mining, Golden Hills can remain the residential base while a separate node base handles bulk ore.
The Sunlit Isle
The Sunlit Isle at (405, -483) is recommended for early crude-oil farming. Oil is a specialist requirement, so this is usually a second or third base rather than the place to establish your first beds and farms. Build only the storage, power and extraction infrastructure you need, then ship the output to the main base.

Best ore and coal bases
Mountain peak: the balanced ore-and-coal option
The most frequently repeated dual-resource recommendation is a mountain peak around (192, 38). Other guides list the same general area as (188, -37) or (180, -39). Reports commonly claim roughly five or six ore nodes and five or six coal nodes inside one base radius, and describe the location as non-raidable. Because the coordinate spread is substantial and raid behavior changed in version 1.0, verify both the nodes and the approach routes before committing a guild base.

- (C) PALWORLD
This site works best as a focused extraction base. Place the Palbox where miners can reach the largest cluster, keep storage within their walking path, and avoid filling the radius with decorative structures. Bring ingots and coal back to the production base rather than asking mining Pals to cross a crowded settlement.
Dedicated mine at (270, -230)
If ore and coal are the guild’s dominant constraint, a guide identifies (270, -230) as the densest dedicated mine base, with reports of eight ore nodes and five coal nodes. Those figures are observations from guide authors, not a developer-published guarantee, and node placement can look different after a world is generated or when a map uses a different coordinate reference.
Use a dedicated mine when several players are crafting ammunition, spheres, equipment or building materials at the same time. It is less suitable as a social home: steep terrain, limited decoration space and long travel times make it a poor replacement for a flat production base.

Pal Oil at Dusk Dunes
Dusk Dunes, around (-94, -119), is repeatedly cited as a rich Pal-Oil area because Dumud and Digitoise buildings are common there. A second guide gives (-96, -120), illustrating why you should scout the actual oil-producing creatures and confirm that the base radius covers them. Treat this as an outpost: secure storage, extraction and a safe return route, but do not move your entire breeding operation into the dunes unless you can defend it.
Sulfur at Mount Obsidian West
Mount Obsidian West at (-744, -442) is the specialist choice for sulfur used in ammunition and explosives. The value is logistical rather than scenic: a base on the deposit can keep sulfur moving while the main settlement handles crafting. Prepare heat protection, high-level combat Pals and an emergency recall route before sending workers there.
Quartz at Unthawable Lake
Unthawable Lake in the Astral Mountains at (-211, 252) is recommended for quartz. Cold-region travel adds a practical cost, so establish this base only when quartz demand justifies the trip. Keep spare cold-weather equipment and a small reserve of food in the outpost; otherwise a storm or death can halt production for the whole guild.
Raid-resistant multiplayer locations
Walled Beach
Walled Beach near Mount Obsidian at (-479, -80) is described as being enclosed by a rock wall that raid parties cannot path through. That claim comes from a single guide-level report and should not be treated as permanent immunity. Version 1.0 introduced countermeasures that made previously un-raidable positions somewhat less reliable.
Rank #3
If you choose Walled Beach, leave room for defenders and test a raid before storing every valuable Pal there. A location that blocks ground pathing can still fail if enemies spawn inside the radius, use a different route or receive a future balance change.
Cliff-backed and high-ground designs
For servers with raids enabled, a more transferable strategy is to put the base against a cliff or on high ground and provide one ramped entrance. The single lane funnels successive waves toward a predictable defensive zone, making it easier for players to repair structures and concentrate combat Pals. This is practical advice, not a published or independently tested guarantee, so keep a second escape route for players even when the enemy has only one approach.
Endgame base locations
Sunreach’s Crystal Pool
Sunreach’s Crystal Pool at (-540, -1361) is promoted as an endgame showpiece. Its main risk is not resource scarcity but worker safety: one guide warns that Pals assigned to work can pick fights they cannot win. Build toward the far side of the pool, keep combat-heavy tasks away from the work area and use walls or assignment limits to prevent a miner or hauler from wandering into an enemy group.
Sakurajima Oil Fields
Sakurajima Oil Fields at (-646, 270) combines crude-oil rigs with wide, flat building space. The region is guarded by enemies at level 50 or above, so it belongs at the end of your expansion order. Send a scouting party first, establish a minimal defensive footprint, and move valuable workers only after the route and spawn patterns are understood.
How Palworld 1.0 changes base planning
Wave raids change the shape of a defense
Raids were reworked into successive waves, with rewards granted after all waves are defeated. A base that survives one opening attack may still fail later, so reserve healing items, ammunition and repair materials for the full event. Defensive structures no longer consume ammunition, reducing the maintenance burden on a fortified entrance.
Work-Pal level affects raid strength
Raid strength scales with the level of the Work Pals assigned to the base. A highly developed industrial base can therefore attract a stronger attack than a lightly staffed outpost. Keep your strongest combat Pals available, or temporarily move high-level workers when the expected reward does not justify the risk.
Raiders depend on location
The reported faction varies by region: the Free Pal Alliance attacks in Crescent Moon Shore, while the Eternal Pyre Faction raids Mount Obsidian. This makes geography part of your defense plan. A sulfur or oil base in a dangerous region should not be evaluated only by its deposits; consider which faction’s attack profile your group can handle.

Negotiator and guild limits
A Negotiator can cancel an upcoming raid by paying gold coins. Use that option when a key player is offline or when the guild is moving its core workers between bases. A guild can run at most one raid-boss battle at a time, and bases under raid are marked, which helps members see where assistance is needed.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Dedicated-server considerations
Dedicated servers gained optional in-game voice chat, guild roles and permissions, shared markers, login notifications and processing optimizations for high player counts. Default world settings were adjusted to be close to single-player Normal difficulty, so a group should review its settings rather than assume a private server is automatically easier.
Version 1.0.4, released September 7, 2026, added a per-player building-limit server setting and dedicated-server fixes. The available limit value was not stated in the reports used here; check the current Steam patch notes and your server configuration before designing a large shared complex. Server clustering was announced in June 2026 but was not listed in the July 10 launch patch summaries, so do not choose a base on the assumption that clustering is already available.
Step-by-step: establish a multiplayer base safely
- Define the job. Decide whether this Palbox is a home, node mine, oil, sulfur, quartz or raid-defense site. Do not mix every role before you know the terrain’s limits.
- Scout the coordinate area. Travel to the reported position, inspect the actual nodes and identify enemy spawns. Coordinate systems differ between guides, so use the numbers as a search window.
- Check the base radius. Place a temporary marker or Palbox location and confirm that the resource nodes, storage path and planned defenses all fit inside the working area.
- Test worker access. Assign one appropriate Work Pal and watch it reach a node, return to storage and resume work. Steep ledges and decorative clutter can invalidate an apparently perfect site.
- Build the minimum viable core. Start with Palbox, beds, food, storage, repair access and the resource buildings required for that base’s role. Expand only after the route remains clear.
- Create a defense lane. On raid-enabled servers, use high ground or a cliff-backed wall with one ramped entrance. Keep player movement and Pal movement separate so workers do not block defenders.
- Mark ownership and logistics. Use shared markers and guild permissions to identify which base holds ore, fuel, ammunition or breeding stock. Assign a responsible player for repairs and emergency recalls.
- Run a stress test. Trigger normal work cycles, bring several guild members online and observe pathing, storage overflow and frame-rate impact before transferring rare materials.
- Prepare a fallback. Keep spare beds, food, tools and a small resource reserve at another base. If a raid or terrain bug disables one site, the guild can continue operating.
Common mistakes and fixes
Trusting one coordinate exactly
The mountain recommendation appears at three different coordinate pairs, and Dusk Dunes appears at two. Search the surrounding terrain, count the visible nodes and verify the Palbox radius instead of placing it on the first matching number.
Building a single sprawling megabase
A huge mixed-use base concentrates raid risk and can slow a busy server. Split production, mining and specialist extraction into separate roles, then use shared markers and scheduled hauling runs.
Calling a location raid-proof
Rock walls and cliffs can disrupt enemy pathing, but the 1.0 raid rework added countermeasures and raid behavior is not fully established by independent testing. Design defenses that still work if the enemy reaches the entrance.
Putting endgame workers in a low-level base
Higher-level Work Pals can increase raid strength. Move them into specialist bases only when their output justifies the added threat, and keep combat Pals or a Negotiator option available.
Ignoring travel and climate
Mount Obsidian, the Astral Mountains and Sakurajima impose environmental and combat costs. An apparently rich node can produce less than a nearby poorer node if players repeatedly die, lose equipment or abandon workers.
Quick Recap
Recommended progression for most multiplayer groups
- Start at Windswept Plateau/Hills or Golden Hills. Establish food, beds, storage and basic crafting on level ground.
- Add the mountain peak or dedicated mine. Move ore and coal extraction away from the residential footprint when demand rises.
- Open one specialist outpost. Choose Dusk Dunes for Pal Oil, Mount Obsidian West for sulfur, or Unthawable Lake for quartz according to the next crafting bottleneck.
- Fortify before expanding. Use a cliff-backed entrance, maintain supplies for every raid wave and review Work-Pal levels.
- Finish with an endgame site. Move to Sunreach’s Crystal Pool for a showcase build or Sakurajima Oil Fields for high-volume oil once the guild can handle level-50-plus enemies.
