For a Windows PC running Dolphin, the Mayflash Wireless Sensor DolphinBar W010 is the clearest purpose-built option in the available product documentation. It combines a Wii Remote receiver with a sensor bar, and Mayflash says it works with Dolphin and supports up to four remotes. If you already have a Bluetooth adapter, it may be enough for Dolphin’s emulated-adapter mode—but passthrough compatibility depends on the specific hardware. The right choice depends on which connection method you plan to use, not just whether a device says “Bluetooth.”

If you want a dedicated Wii Remote setup on Windows, start with the W010. If you already own a Bluetooth adapter, try Dolphin’s emulated-adapter method before buying another device. Choose passthrough only after checking that your exact adapter is supported.
How Dolphin connects a real Wii Remote
A Wii Remote communicates over Bluetooth, but Bluetooth capability alone does not guarantee that every Dolphin connection method will work. Dolphin documents three approaches, each with different setup and compatibility trade-offs:
- Ordinary Bluetooth controller pairing: A straightforward approach, but Dolphin notes that pairing the remote this way can prevent some features from working correctly.
- Bluetooth passthrough: Provides the most accurate results, including Wii Remote audio, but requires additional setup and works with a limited set of hardware.
- Emulated Wii Bluetooth adapter: Less accurate than passthrough, but compatible with a broader range of hardware.

What the Mayflash DolphinBar W010 offers
The W010 is not just a generic Bluetooth dongle: it is a combined Wii Remote receiver and sensor-bar-style product. Mayflash lists support for the Wii Remote, Nunchuk, and Classic Controller, four operating modes, Dolphin compatibility, and up to four remotes. Its listed PC compatibility is Windows. Treat those as the manufacturer’s specifications, not independent confirmation of performance or compatibility with every PC configuration.
Dolphin separately documents support for up to four Wii Remotes at once, including attached peripherals. That is a software capability; it does not establish that every Bluetooth adapter will connect four remotes equally well. Mayflash’s four-remote statement applies to the W010 product.

How to decide whether you need another adapter
- You want a dedicated Windows solution with a sensor bar: The W010 is the most directly targeted option in the sources cited here.
- Your desktop lacks Bluetooth: A USB or PCIe Bluetooth adapter can add it. For broader hardware compatibility, consider Dolphin’s emulated-adapter method rather than assuming passthrough will work.
- You specifically want passthrough: Check Dolphin’s compatibility information for the exact adapter model before purchasing. The available documentation does not identify a universally compatible generic dongle.
- You use macOS or Linux: The W010’s cited product specification lists Windows, so that page does not substantiate a recommendation for those operating systems.
Connect the remote through Dolphin
- Install or open Dolphin and connect the Bluetooth adapter or DolphinBar to the PC.
- Open Dolphin’s controller configuration and select the real-Wii-Remote connection method you intend to use. Follow Dolphin’s current controller guide rather than pairing the remote in the operating system’s Bluetooth settings first.
- Choose a method your hardware supports. Use emulated-adapter mode if you need the broader hardware compatibility it offers; select passthrough only if your adapter is supported and you are prepared for its extra setup.
- Put the Wii Remote into connection mode when Dolphin prompts you, then test the remote and any attached Nunchuk or Classic Controller in a game or controller test screen.
Exact menu labels and setup steps can vary by Dolphin version and connection method; use the guide linked above for the current instructions.

If considering a used DolphinBar, check which hardware revision you have before applying firmware. Mayflash’s support page says its W010 firmware update is compatible with the revision that has two switches on the back, not the very old one-switch version.
