The community boat table lists the Jetski at 180 speed for C$50,000 at level 60 as a practical mid-game upgrade, while the Luxury Speedboat offers 150 speed for C$20,000 at level 50. Airboat is listed at 210 speed, but its level-1000 requirement and C$5,000,000 price put it in endgame territory. Treat these as listed stats, not proven route times, and check the current Shipwright or in-game interface before spending because the table warns that some information may be outdated.
How to choose a boat for fast travel
Boat speed is only one part of the decision. The listed speed is a top speed in studs per second (S/ps), not a measured trip time between islands. Acceleration affects how quickly a boat reaches that speed, and steering describes how quickly it rotates. A high top-speed figure alone does not establish which boat feels fastest on a route with frequent turns.
- Set your access ceiling. Check your level, available C$, mastery progress, and whether you are considering event or paid unlocks. Compare only boats you can obtain under those conditions.
- Compare listed speed and handling. Use top speed as a reference, then consider steering and acceleration for the routes you actually take. No comparative handling test is available here.
- Check the seats. A fast solo option may not work for a group; seat capacity can change the practical choice.
- Buy when travel is the bottleneck. If you are still struggling to land catches, prioritize a rod that can handle your fishing route. Consider a speed upgrade when travel between islands is taking a meaningful share of your play session.
- Verify before purchase. Boat availability, costs, and unlock requirements can change. Check the current Shipwright or in-game interface rather than relying on an older listing.
This approach follows FischGuide’s practical boat advice, which recommends weighing travel time, group seats, and special unlock conditions.

| Boat | Listed speed | Listed cost | Listed level | Handling and seats listed | What that means for fast travel |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Speedboat | 85 S/ps | C$15,000 | 20 | Not stated in the cited listing | An early shop option, but not a high-speed choice compared with the later shop boats. |
| Luxury Speedboat | 150 S/ps | C$20,000 | 50 | 54° steering; 0.3 acceleration; 3 seats | A substantial listed speed step over the Speedboat and less costly than the Jetski. |
| Jetski | 180 S/ps | C$50,000 | 60 | 70° steering; 0.3 acceleration; 2 seats | A faster listed mid-game shop option, if the level gate and higher price suit your situation. |
| Airboat | 210 S/ps | C$5,000,000 | 1,000 | 80° steering; 0.75 acceleration; 5 seats | The fastest of these standard shop comparisons, but an endgame reference rather than a general recommendation. |
Boat names, stats, and requirements in this table come from the Fisch Wiki boat table. The same source lists early alternatives including Rowboat (25 S/ps, C$700, level 0), Surfboard (30, C$1,500, level 0), Bass Boat (45, C$6,000, level 0), and Hovercraft (55, C$7,000, level 15). These are budget or access options, not fast-travel upgrades by listed top speed.
If you are around level 50
The Luxury Speedboat costs C$20,000 at level 50 and is listed at 150 S/ps with three seats. For a player who reaches level 60 and can spend C$50,000, the Jetski raises the listed speed to 180 S/ps and has 70° steering, but seats two. The Jetski’s higher top-speed listing does not by itself prove it will save a particular amount of time on a turning route.

If you are far into progression
The Airboat is listed at 210 S/ps, C$5,000,000, and level 1,000, with five seats. The table also lists the Windsurfer Boast at 190 S/ps for C$1,000,000 at level 800, and the Cursed Rider at 200 S/ps for C$2,000,000 at level 900. These are late-progression shop comparisons; their listed speeds do not establish point-to-point travel times.
Special and paid boats are conditional options
Some entries exceed the ordinary shop choices, but access conditions matter more than the headline speed. The table lists Mossjaw at 300 S/ps through Elder Mossripper mastery, Ancient Megalodon at 230 S/ps through Rod of the Forgotten Fang mastery, and a Reborn Flying Dutchman entry at 250 S/ps associated with FischFright 2025. The page’s availability labels vary between sections, so verify current access in game before planning around an event or mastery unlock.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Which boat is worth buying?
- For an early-game budget: do not buy a low-speed boat expecting a major travel upgrade. The listed Speedboat reaches 85 S/ps at level 20 for C$15,000; compare its cost with how often you actually travel before spending.
- For a practical mid-game shop upgrade: compare the Luxury Speedboat’s 150 S/ps, C$20,000 cost, and three seats with the Jetski’s 180 S/ps, C$50,000 cost, and two seats. Pick according to what you can access, your budget, and whether the extra listed speed matters for your routes.
- For a group: include seats in the decision. The Luxury Speedboat lists three seats and the Airboat five, while the Jetski lists two.
- For endgame: the Airboat leads the standard shop comparison here at 210 S/ps, but only if its level and price requirements are realistic for you.
- For a mastery, event, or paid option: confirm that the unlock is currently available and fits your plans. A higher listed speed does not make a conditional boat a generally obtainable recommendation.
The strongest reason to upgrade is that travel is slowing down a session in which your rod can already handle the destination. Listed speed is useful for comparing options, but only your current access, budget, route, and group needs can determine which purchase is worthwhile.
