For a quick early farm, start with Splashzone in Riptide Grotto after “Recruitment Drive.” Horace is an early alternative; The Oppressor suits a stronger build. Mid-game targets include Bio-Bulkhead, Idolator Sol, Primordial Guardian Inceptus, and Sludgemaw, while Callous Harbringer and Callis are tougher late-game choices. Which one is best depends on the item you want and how well your build handles that fight.
How to choose a boss to farm
The boss-and-loot routes below come from a third-party guide by Priya Singh, updated September 25, 2025. Treat its item associations, mission prerequisites, and progression recommendations as a dated guide snapshot—not a complete list of every boss or drop in later updates. The listed items are reported drops, not guaranteed rewards. The guide and the official update notes cited here do not establish reliable boss-by-boss drop percentages, average clear times, or loot-per-hour comparisons.

- Choose by loot goal: Look for the boss associated with the item you want rather than assuming one encounter is best for every build.
- Factor in access and repetition: A short return route can matter as much as a quick kill; some fights have extra phases, immunity mechanics, or swarms.
- Match damage to the encounter: The guide recommends incendiary against Splashzone and shock and corrosive against The Oppressor. These are its recommendations, not independently tested results.
How to repeat a boss fight
After defeating a boss, use the Moxxi’s Big Encore terminal near its arena to respawn a previously defeated boss. Kill it again, collect its drops and any chest loot, then return to the terminal to repeat. PlayStation Blog describes the wider options as replaying entire missions or using Moxxi’s Big Encore Machine to fight bosses again. Drill sites offer a different repeatable format: waves of enemies that end in one or more boss fights.

Names, routes, unlocks, and loot in this table reflect the September 25, 2025 third-party guide. Confirm them in the current game build before planning a farm; the guide predates the post-launch content described below.

Post-launch endgame options
Bloomreaper the Invincible
In its December 2025 notes, Borderlands Support / 2K introduced Bloomreaper the Invincible in The Bloom and nine dedicated Legendary items: Rainmaker, Mantra, Undershield, Urchin, Jett-Setter, Misericorde, Overdriver, Trooper, and Lamplighter. The notes say most of this loot requires a sufficiently fast clear in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode. Timed chest rewards scale through Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum tiers; some class mods require Silver tier or higher. These are challenge rewards, so they are not interchangeable with the ordinary boss-drop list above.
Weekly Big Encore and Weekly Wildcard
The Weekly Big Encore Boss is a rotating, tougher variant of an existing boss that costs Eridium to unlock and has increased drop rates, according to 2K’s endgame announcement. Weekly Wildcard missions rotate and offer a guaranteed Legendary reward that can be earned repeatedly while seeking a preferred roll. These systems can be useful alternatives to repeatedly farming one fixed boss, but their active bosses and missions change.

Borderlands Support / 2K’s April 2026 version 1.6 notes provide a dated snapshot of rotating activities and say World Bosses will appear more often. That statement is qualitative, not a published spawn-rate figure. Check the live rotation before choosing a weekly target; a dated weekly boss or mission should not be assumed to remain active.
What the available drop information can—and cannot—tell you
The 2025 guide is useful for comparing routes and targets, but it does not provide measured kill times or drop odds. The official 2025–2026 updates add endgame systems and loot, but do not establish a consolidated current boss-and-drop table. Use the listed associations to identify a candidate farm, then verify the item and route in the live game rather than treating any listed drop as guaranteed or the list as exhaustive.
