For a high-investment ranged build in No Rest for the Wicked, Lacquered Bow is the best-supported choice in the reviewed Together-era evidence. Meet its 36 Dexterity requirement, then build around varied elemental damage to activate Hunter’s Mark. This is a conditional recommendation, not an official ranking or a guarantee that it is best for every encounter.
Why choose Lacquered Bow?
Lacquered Bow’s defining feature is Hunter’s Mark. Moon Studios’ official Together notes say dealing different types of elemental damage grants a stack for eight seconds. Each stack increases critical chance and reduces stamina cost; at four stacks, physical damage also increases. The No Rest for the Wicked Wiki Editorial Team’s bow guide lists Lacquered Bow with 36 Dexterity required and Dexterity scaling. Its recorded runes are Fire Arrow, Ice Arrow, Lightning Arrow, and Plague Arrow. Treat 36 Dexterity as the weapon requirement, not as a complete stat prescription: the available evidence does not establish an optimal full attribute spread.

Meet the weapon requirement, then balance the rest
Reach the listed 36 Dexterity requirement to use Lacquered Bow. Beyond that, balance damage investment with enough stamina to attack and reposition, Focus for the runes you actually use, and defense for situations where enemies close the distance. No exact optimal totals are established in the reviewed guide.

Use elemental variety to build Hunter’s Mark
Choose attacks and rune use that let you deal different elemental damage types, rather than relying on a single damage type throughout a fight. Hunter’s Mark lasts eight seconds after different elemental damage is dealt, so the practical aim is to vary damage while staying in a position to keep shooting. The official notes establish the stack effects, but do not prescribe a fixed rotation.
Choose a quiver for the encounter, not a supposed universal winner
In Together, bows are main-hand weapons, and individual bows have distinct attacks, speeds, and playstyles. Quivers change projectile behavior: Blasting fires explosive arrows, Freezing fires frost arrows, Shocking fires lightning arrows, and Blighted fires blighted arrows. The official notes and reviewed bow comparison do not establish one quiver as best for every bow or situation. Consider how a quiver complements your elemental options, runes, and the enemy you are facing.

Manage range, stamina, and Focus
The reviewed bow guide reports that Together Patch 1 introduced distance-based damage reduction and projectile gravity: arrows become less effective farther away and curve downward near the end of their range. It gives no numerical range or falloff curve, so there is no supported meter value at which damage suddenly changes. Take shots from a distance where you can land them reliably, keep a retreat route, and reposition before enemies collapse the gap.
Patch 1 also reduced Multishot damage, raised Skyfall Shot’s Focus cost to 100, increased Arrowstorm’s area and damage radius, and increased the run-attack stamina costs of Siren’s Call and Pale Ash, according to the same guide. These are reported balance changes, not proof that any one rune is automatically the right pick. For example, account for Skyfall Shot’s listed 100 Focus cost when deciding whether it fits your available Focus and preferred rotation.

How to compare bows for your playstyle
- Requirements and scaling: Check whether you can meet the weapon’s requirements and whether its scaling suits your planned investment.
- Moveset: Compare attacks, running attacks, and rolls; bows do not all handle the same way.
- Resource demands: Account for stamina during attacks and repositioning, plus Focus for chosen runes.
- Elemental fit: Consider how the bow’s effects, runes, and quiver interact with your damage options.
- Range and pressure: Favor reliable shots and a workable escape route over maximum distance.
- Evidence recency: Older advice may reflect pre-Together equipment slots, quivers, or range behavior. The reviewed guide’s weapon records were checked against Hotfix 9; balance changes after that check are unconfirmed here.
