It lists 2 vCPUs, 2 GiB of memory, 60 GiB of SSD storage and 3,000 GiB of transfer. That recommendation is conditional: at an illustrative 8 Mbps video plus 160 kbps audio, a 30-day stream uses about 2.64 decimal TB before overhead, leaving limited transfer headroom. If you want a wider margin, the listed $24/month tier includes 4,000 GiB of transfer. For a managed option instead of administering a VPS, StreamNeo keeps uploaded video playing to YouTube from the cloud, at any quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, with the first day free.
Shortlist: budget VPS and managed alternative
The VPS figures below are provider-published offers, not independent performance tests. DigitalOcean documents a Bangalore region; NivoHost publishes a streaming-oriented plan in rupees but does not state the VPS data-center location on the cited page. StreamNeo is a managed playback service, not a VPS, and is included for creators who do not need server control.
| Option | Published configuration and price | India-location evidence | How to read it |
|---|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo managed playback | Plays uploaded video to YouTube; up to 4K60. Flat price per slot; see current terms at StreamNeo. | Not established in the cited article excerpt. | For a finished loop when you would rather not administer a VPS; not a VPS comparison or a verified cheaper option. |
| DigitalOcean Basic Droplet | $18/month; 2 vCPUs, 2 GiB RAM, 60 GiB SSD, 3,000 GiB transfer. DigitalOcean lists these details on its Droplet Pricing page. | Bangalore (BLR1) is listed in DigitalOcean’s regional availability documentation. | Lowest clearly documented Bangalore starting tier in these options. Check actual bitrate and transfer accounting before relying on its allowance. |
| DigitalOcean Basic Droplet | $24/month; 2 vCPUs, 4 GiB RAM, 80 GiB SSD, 4,000 GiB transfer. See Droplet Pricing. | Bangalore (BLR1) is listed in DigitalOcean’s regional availability documentation. | More transfer headroom than the $18 tier at a higher listed price. |
| NivoHost RDP 3 streaming plan | ₹1,799/month including tax; 720p30, 160 kbps audio, 20 TB bandwidth, two stream handles, 8 CPU cores, 16 GB RAM and 160 GB SSD, according to the provider plan page. | Not stated on the cited page. | A streaming-specific, locally priced offer; get written confirmation of region, renewal price, bandwidth terms and continuous-streaming policy first. |

Estimate transfer before choosing a plan
Transfer is driven chiefly by the stream’s total outgoing bitrate and how long it runs. At a constant 8 Mbps video rate plus 160 kbps audio, the arithmetic for 30 days is 8.16 megabits per second × 2,592,000 seconds ÷ 8 bits per byte = 2,643,840,000,000 bytes, or about 2.64 decimal TB before protocol overhead and retransmissions. This is an illustrative calculation combining YouTube’s H.264 720p30 video recommendation with the audio rate listed for NivoHost’s plan; it is not an official YouTube total bitrate.
#1 Best Overall
DigitalOcean lists the smaller tier’s transfer allowance as 3,000 GiB, which is a different unit from decimal TB. The illustrative payload fits below that allowance on paper, but overhead, retransmissions, bitrate peaks, and provider accounting can reduce the margin. The 4,000 GiB tier offers more room. NivoHost lists 20 TB of bandwidth, but ask how it is counted and whether fair-use conditions apply. Recalculate using your actual output bitrate and confirm the provider’s accounting rules before committing to a month-long stream.
Choose the encoder settings for the actual stream
YouTube’s official live encoder guidance recommends, for H.264 video, 8 Mbps at 720p30, 10 Mbps at 1080p30 and 17 Mbps at 1080p60. These are video bitrates, not complete traffic totals. YouTube also accepts H.265/HEVC and AV1, whose recommended rates differ. Use guidance for your chosen codec and resolution rather than assuming the H.264 720p30 figure applies to every stream.

- Ideal for a bookworm
- Compact for travelling
- Rate control: YouTube recommends constant bitrate (CBR).
- Keyframes: Set a two-second interval; YouTube says not to exceed four seconds.
- Protocol: YouTube recommends RTMPS.
- Audio: AAC or MP3 is supported. Include the audio bitrate when estimating total transfer.
- Output quality: Choose settings your source and encoder can sustain consistently. A prerecorded file can still use substantial bandwidth when sent continuously.
YouTube advises, “We recommend running a speed test to test your upload bitrate.” For a VPS, test the server’s sustained outbound path and the actual streaming process rather than assuming advertised compute alone guarantees a stable broadcast. YouTube also recommends testing with representative audio and video movement and monitoring stream health during the event.
Verify the channel and music rights before paying
Check live-stream eligibility
YouTube’s live-streaming eligibility guidance says a channel must be verified and must have no live-streaming restrictions in the prior 90 days. The same help page states a maximum of 10 active streams per channel and three per stream key. Confirm eligibility before purchasing hosting so a channel restriction does not leave a paid server idle.

Establish rights for every track and visual
Prerecorded status does not grant permission to broadcast music. Before looping Hindi sleep music, establish that you have the necessary rights for the specific recordings, compositions, artwork and other visuals, and check YouTube’s current platform policies. The cited sources do not settle whether any particular track or use is permitted.
Questions to settle with a VPS provider
A low-complexity prerecorded loop that only sends an already encoded file may need less compute than real-time video encoding or a live compositing setup. The published DigitalOcean and NivoHost specifications do not prove that a particular machine will sustain your chosen software, bitrate or uninterrupted schedule. Before ordering, get clear answers to these points:
Rank #4
- Is continuous outbound streaming allowed, and are there fair-use limits or separate bandwidth charges?
- How is transfer measured, and what happens if the allowance is exceeded?
- For NivoHost, which data-center region will host the VPS, what is the renewal price, and what recovery support is included?
- Can you run a representative stream long enough to check stability, server load and YouTube stream health before depending on it?
- How will the stream process restart after a server reboot or encoder failure, and who is responsible for fixing it?
For a self-managed VPS, you remain responsible for the operating system, encoder or playback process, stream-key handling, monitoring and recovery. A VPS gives you more control, but a listing’s CPU and memory numbers are not a substitute for testing your specific setup.

If your goal is simply to keep a prerecorded Hindi sleep-music video looping on YouTube, StreamNeo removes the need to keep a home computer online or administer a VPS. Upload your recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It plays uploaded videos—not a camera feed—and streams to YouTube only.
