CAVE developed Mushihimesama, and its official Steam listing describes it as a vertical shooter with dense bullet patterns. That makes it a natural next pick if what you want from DoDonPachi Resurrection Reignite is another CAVE-made game built around navigating crowded screens.
This recommendation is about the developer and broad shooting style. The available sources do not establish that Mushihimesama matches Reignite in difficulty, scoring system, or learning curve, so choose it for the close stylistic connection rather than an assumed one-to-one match.
What you may be moving on from in Reignite
DoDonPachi Resurrection Reignite released on Steam on August 26, 2026 (August 27 in Japan), according to CAVE’s Steam listing and CAVE’s October 2, 2026 announcement. The publisher describes it as a bullet hell shooter with assist features for new and returning players, a new Stage 6, new music and character content, and a 10-player Shooting Royale mode.

CAVE’s October 2 announcement says version 1.1.0 added training mode for every stage, including AREA6. It also described future plans to add AREA6 to Royale in November and introduce a Black Label mode in winter. Those were plans announced on October 2, 2026; their later release is not established here.
Choose your next shooter by what you want to keep
- Another CAVE game: Start with Mushihimesama for the supported connection in developer and vertical bullet-dodging style.
- Practice support: Reignite has assist features, and its version 1.1.0 added stage-by-stage training. Check the current listing and update notes for any other candidate rather than assuming it has equivalent tools.
- Multiplayer: Reignite includes a 10-player Shooting Royale mode. The evidence here does not verify comparable multiplayer modes for Mushihimesama.
- Access and fit: Check platform availability, regional language support, price, and specific modes on the current storefront before choosing. Store details can change, and availability on Steam does not establish availability on other platforms.
A note on the series’ history
CAVE says the DoDonPachi series began in 1997 and reports 24 titles sold across arcade, home consoles, and mobile. That figure is CAVE’s publisher-reported tally in its 2026 announcement, not an independently audited count.
