What has to be true for a price match?
Check the product, seller, availability, and offer before you contact Best Buy. A lower price alone does not make an item eligible.

- It is the exact same product. The brand, model number, and color must match. A similar model or a different color does not meet the stated requirement.
- The product is new and available now. The competitor must have it ready to ship or for store pickup, and Best Buy’s item must also be immediately available.
- Best Buy and the competitor are the sellers. Best Buy Marketplace products and third-party marketplace listings on competitor sites are excluded.
- The competitor and offer qualify. Check Best Buy’s current Qualified Competitors page when you request the match. The roster can change.
- The price is current and public. Best Buy compares the pre-tax product price available to all customers. It allows one match at the time of purchase per identical item per customer.
Which prices and products are excluded?
Best Buy’s policy excludes a range of products and deal types. Common examples include:
- Clearance, refurbished, open-box, and pre-owned items
- Out-of-stock and limited-quantity offers
- Membership-only or loyalty prices, coupons, and mail-in offers
- Bundles, financing offers, gift-card promotions, and free-item offers
- Pricing errors, preorders, liquidation offers, trade-ins, and rent-to-own offers
- Service prices and special daily or hourly sales
- Competitor prices from the Thursday before Thanksgiving through the following Monday
Best Buy says it may amend the policy or test it in select locations, so consult the live terms before relying on a particular deal. Shipping and delivery charges are not included in the online price comparison; Best Buy matches the pre-tax item price.

Does Best Buy price match Amazon?
Do not assume that every Amazon listing qualifies. Check the current Qualified Competitors page, then verify that Amazon itself—not a third-party Marketplace Seller—is selling the item. The product must also match exactly, be immediately available, and have an eligible current offer. Best Buy’s policy excludes marketplace-seller products, so a lower third-party listing is not covered.
How to request a price match
For BestBuy.com, app, and online orders
- Contact Best Buy by online chat or phone at 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289) while purchasing or during the return and exchange period.
- Show the current competitor ad or webpage with the lower price. Best Buy reviews the request and verifies the price and availability.
- For a shipped order after purchase, make sure the person requesting the match is the purchaser named in the order’s “Bill To” section. Online chat requests must be made by the purchaser.
- If you have already received or picked up the order, check Order Details and select “See details” to find out whether a price match is available.
An online order cannot be price matched in a store or by email. Purchases made in the app and BestBuy.com orders picked up in a store are treated as BestBuy.com purchases under the policy.

For an in-store purchase
- Ask a Customer Specialist or go to the Customer Service desk while purchasing or during the return and exchange period.
- Show the current competitor ad or webpage. Best Buy will review the request and verify the offer.
What if Best Buy lowers its own price?
Best Buy says: “If we lower our in-store, online or app price during the return and exchange period, we will match our lower price, upon request.” For an item scheduled for delivery, its FAQ says to call before delivery to request a lower Best Buy price.
