How to get a preorder at the late-night opening
Best Buy says preorders are available in stores, online and in its app. If you already selected shipping, Best Buy says you can sign in to My Best Buy, open your purchase history and modify the order to store pickup; the company says it will email customers with the option to switch. Whether a change is available depends on Best Buy’s order process and availability.
- Sign in to your My Best Buy account.
- Open your purchase history and select the Ocarina of Time preorder.
- Check whether the order can be modified to pickup at your participating local store, then follow the prompts shown for that order.
If you plan to attend, confirm that your chosen store is participating and follow the pickup instructions shown in your order. A shipped preorder should not be assumed to convert automatically to late-night pickup.
Rank #2
- Play the original Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
- Or the Master Quest edition with many bonus features
What will be available in-store?
Best Buy says limited quantities of the game, a Zelda 40th Anniversary Edition Switch 2 system and a Pro Controller will be available. “Limited quantities” does not guarantee stock at a specific store or that a preorder secures the anniversary hardware.
The retailer’s event page also lists a carrying case and screen protector, but Best Buy’s announcement does not promise those accessories for the launch event. Their appearance on the product page is not confirmation of event inventory.
Rank #3
- Play the original Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
- Or the Master Quest edition with many bonus features
Should you attend or keep a shipped preorder?
Attending makes sense if your local store confirms the event and you want to pick up the game at the launch opening or try to buy one of the limited-quantity items. Keeping shipping avoids a late-night trip, but does not provide the same in-store pickup timing. If you have a shipped preorder, check your account for the pickup-change option rather than assuming the order can be transferred.
