What Best Buy said about Switch 2 preorder delivery
Confusion arose after a Best Buy push notification and earlier website wording appeared to indicate that preorders were pickup-only. The Verge’s Jay Peters reported that Best Buy representative Julia Benda clarified: “shipping and pickup will both be available for preorders.” The report said Best Buy’s website was updated to show a choice between in-store pickup and “shipping for delivery at a later date.” The Verge’s April 23, 2025 report described preorders as scheduled to start at 12AM ET.

Does that mean a Switch 2 preorder can still be shipped?
No current availability follows from that announcement. It documents the fulfillment options Best Buy said it would offer when preorders began; it does not show that preorders remain open, that a particular console can be ordered, or what delivery date an order would receive.
