Best Co-Op Games on PS Plus for Couch Multiplayer

For a couch co-op night on PlayStation Plus, start with Overcooked! All You Can Eat or Sackboy: A Big Adventure for up to four players. For two, try the action RPG Cat Quest II or the playful pranks of Untitled Goose Game; Tetris Effect: Connected offers cooperative and competitive multiplayer for groups of up to four. These are examples from PlayStation’s US couch-multiplayer guide, not a complete ranking. Check your regional catalog and each game’s listing before you plan: local multiplayer does not automatically mean online co-op.

Which PS Plus co-op games fit your group?

PlayStation’s couch multiplayer guide highlights games suited to sharing a screen. Its listed player counts and descriptions make it useful for choosing local play, while online co-op availability should be checked on each game’s individual listing.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a better fit if your group would rather work through platforming challenges together. Both are listed for one to four players.

For two players

Cat Quest II is a local co-op action RPG for two, while Untitled Goose Game offers a lighter partnership built around planning pranks. PlayStation lists both for one to two players.

For a mix of puzzle, rhythm, and competition

Tetris Effect: Connected supports up to four players and includes both cooperative and competitive modes, so it can suit a group that wants to alternate between working together and facing off. Choose the mode that matches the mood rather than assuming every multiplayer option is cooperative.

Local co-op and online co-op are different

The cited PlayStation guide focuses on couch multiplayer. Its player counts are a useful guide to local group size, but they do not establish that every title supports online co-op. If friends will join remotely, check the specific game’s PlayStation listing for online multiplayer details before subscribing or arranging a session.

Check your PS Plus plan and regional catalog

On PlayStation’s US page, Extra includes access to the Game Catalog. Premium includes Extra benefits as well as the Classics Catalog and game trials. Catalog contents vary over time and by plan, and some Game Catalog or Classics Catalog games can have an end date. Availability may also differ by region, so verify the title in the catalog for your account before planning a game night.

PlayStation’s US catalog page displayed 643 games available when accessed on October 8, 2026. That is a time-specific total for the catalog page, not a count of co-op games. See the PlayStation Plus games catalog for current listings.

How many controllers do you need?

For local multiplayer, make sure the group has enough controllers for the players joining in person. PlayStation says up to four controllers can be used at once on PS5. An additional DualSense wireless controller is one option for adding players if you do not already have enough; whether each game uses a controller per player should be confirmed on its listing.
