Start with the exact PS5 model
Model compatibility is the first filter because the original PS5, Slim and Pro use different physical envelopes and attachment points. - Your entertainment unit is narrow and an upright console uses less width than a horizontal one.
- You want an official accessory with compatibility stated across original, Slim and Pro model groups.
- You need stable display positioning but do not need charging, USB ports or cooling-fan functions.
When to choose something else
Choose a horizontal support if your shelf height is limited, or a travel case if your priority is impact protection. The CFI-ZVS1 does not provide a padded compartment, accessory storage or an integrated display.

Small Slim-specific stand and USB option: BIGBEN

Important limitation
This is a Slim-specific choice. Do not use the manual’s compatibility statement as evidence that the stand fits an original PS5 or PS5 Pro. Confirm your Slim CFI group and Disc or Digital edition first.

1. Footprint and orientation
Measure the shelf, desk or travel compartment in three dimensions, not just width. Vertical stands reduce left-to-right width but require height and a stable base. A horizontal support needs more width and depth but may fit beneath a low shelf. For cases, compare the bag’s exterior dimensions with the space you will actually carry it in.
2. Ventilation clearance
Keep the PS5’s intake and exhaust vents unobstructed. Retailer guidance emphasizes ventilation and clearance when evaluating stands. Do not wedge a console against a case wall while operating it, cover vents with padding, or place a stand where curtains, books or cables press against the airflow path.

3. Stability
Look for a base that sits flat and keeps the console centered. An upright console should not rock when you connect a cable. If you use a third-party stand, verify that its contact points match your model and that the console cannot slide when the shelf is bumped.
4. Protection level
- Hard shell: Choose a rigid case when impact and compression protection matter more than accessory volume.
- Padded bag: Choose a customizable interior when you want one carrier for the console and peripherals.
- Integrated enclosure: Choose a screen-equipped unit when eliminating the separate monitor is worth the additional bulk.
5. Capacity
Write down everything you intend to carry: console, stand, controller count, power lead, HDMI lead, headset and games. Case Club’s documented capacity stops at one console. USA Gear is the better fit for a complete setup because it provides customizable padding and an external pocket. POGA’s enclosure format adds a display but should be evaluated as a complete station.

6. Added electronics
Charging ports, USB hubs and fans can be convenient, but they add cables and power requirements. The BIGBEN manual supplies explicit 5V/2A input and 5V/1A output figures. For any cooling-fan claim without comparable independent testing, treat the fan as a feature description rather than proof of lower operating temperatures.
Packing and setup procedures
For a console-only hard case
- Shut down the PS5 through the system menu and wait until all lights are off.
- Disconnect power, HDMI, Ethernet and USB devices.
- Remove the stand and any attachments.
- Inspect the compartment for grit or objects that could scratch the shell.
- Seat the console in the specified Disc or Digital orientation.
- Close the case without compressing the lid against the console.
- Carry accessories separately in a small organizer.
For a padded travel bag
- Remove the stand, attachments and accessories from the console, as USA Gear instructs.
- Set the padded dividers around the console rather than on top of ventilation openings.
- Place controllers and headphones in separate padded sections.
- Use the external pocket for cables and other flat items.

- Keep the water-resistant base away from standing water; water resistance is not the same as waterproofing.

Symptom: Controllers and cables have nowhere safe to go. Fix: Use a separate accessory pouch with Case Club, or move to USA Gear’s padded, pocketed format.
Packing with the stand attached
Symptom: The bag bulges, the console shifts or pressure reaches the ports. Fix: Remove the stand and attachments before packing, following USA Gear’s instruction.
