What to consider when choosing a PC controller
Button prompts and familiarity
If you want the button names shown in Xbox equivalents to match the labels on your controller, choose an Xbox-layout pad. With a PlayStation-layout controller, you can still play, but you may need to translate prompts. Pick the layout you already recognize rather than assuming one is inherently easier.

Comfort and reach
Elden Ring regularly asks you to move and adjust the camera while reaching face buttons and shoulder or trigger controls. Controller comfort depends on your hands and preferences; the cited sources do not establish that one model fits everyone better.
Connection and optional features
Sony documents USB and Bluetooth connections for DualSense on compatible PCs, but says compatibility and available features depend on the game and device. Its general PC guidance does not establish that Elden Ring implements DualSense adaptive triggers or haptic feedback. Steam’s listing describes ELDEN RING as having full controller support and lists Xbox controller support. That supports an Xbox controller as a practical PC choice, but does not prove a technical or comfort advantage over alternatives.

Yes. Bandai Namco says you can review and change the controls in-game by going to [Menu] → [System] → [Controller Settings]. The guide also covers additional inputs, including weapon-hand switching and lock-on or camera controls, so consult the settings and your platform’s manual if you want the complete mapping.

Does a PS5 DualSense work with Elden Ring on PC?
Sony’s PlayStation gaming on PC guidance explains that DualSense can connect to compatible PC games through USB or Bluetooth, with game support and features varying. The material available here does not establish Elden Ring-specific support for DualSense features such as adaptive triggers or haptic feedback.
