Best CPUs with Integrated Graphics for 2026: What to Buy for a No-GPU Build

The Ryzen 7 8700G is the clearest documented desktop pick for gaming without a graphics card, but platform cost and test conditions matter. Here’s how it compares with three Ryzen 8000G alternatives—and what the evidence cannot support.

For a desktop you intend to game on without a graphics card, the AMD Ryzen 7 8700G is the clearest lead candidate in the available evidence. Its Radeon 780M is substantially more capable on paper than the basic display graphics found in many CPUs, but its value depends on the current price of the processor and the full AM5-and-DDR5 build. This evidence does not support a reliable ranked list of 15 processors, so the guide below focuses on what can be compared and explains how to choose for gaming, everyday use, or a temporary display-capable system.

Which integrated-graphics CPU should you choose?

Start with what “no GPU needed” means for your build. A processor can include graphics that drive a monitor without being a sensible choice for gaming. For games played on integrated graphics, prioritize the graphics hardware itself, then check performance evidence under conditions close to your intended games and settings.

  • Gaming primarily without a graphics card: The Ryzen 7 8700G is the strongest documented socketed candidate here. AMD equips it with Radeon 780M graphics, and current editorial coverage also identifies it as a leading desktop integrated-graphics option. Its purchase makes sense only if its price and platform cost compare well with alternatives available to you.
  • General desktop work and media: Basic integrated graphics may be enough if your workloads are browsing, office applications, video playback, and monitor output. You do not need to pay for a stronger gaming iGPU unless you expect to play games or run graphics-heavy tasks.
  • A display fallback before adding a graphics card: Integrated graphics can provide monitor output while you wait to install a discrete GPU. That is a different buying goal from gaming without one; a fallback iGPU should not be mistaken for a gaming recommendation.

Independent editorial sources place the 8700G among the leading socketed integrated-graphics choices, while noting that its price can make it a niche buy. See iTechGuides’ 2026 integrated-graphics guide and Tom’s Hardware’s CPU hierarchy. Those sources do not establish a comparable 15-CPU recommendation list for this article.

What the documented Ryzen 8000G options offer

AMD’s official family specifications provide a useful comparison among four AM5 desktop processors. The graphics model differs by CPU, even within the same family.

Ryzen 5 8500G 6 / 12 Radeon 740M 65 W $179, AMD launch suggested price in 2024
Ryzen 3 8300G 4 / 8 Radeon 740M 65 W Not stated in AMD’s family price table

These are historical launch suggested prices, not current retail quotes. Current street prices and stock were not established, and the table does not provide a standardized performance comparison. Check AMD’s Ryzen 8000G family specifications for the source details.

Ryzen 7 8700G: the gaming-first pick

AMD specifies the 8700G as an eight-core, 16-thread AM5 processor with Radeon 780M integrated graphics, 12 graphics cores, up to 5.1 GHz boost, and a 65 W default TDP. It uses DDR5 system memory. For a no-GPU gaming build, the 780M makes it the strongest documented option among the four processors compared here. AMD’s full specification is on the Ryzen 7 8700G product page.

Ryzen 5 8600G: a lower-tier family alternative

The 8600G has six cores, 12 threads, Radeon 760M graphics, and a 65 W default TDP. It sits below the 8700G in AMD’s listed graphics models, but the evidence here does not establish how it compares in current games or whether it is the better value at today’s prices. Consider it only after checking current independent tests and the actual price difference for your market.

Ryzen 5 8500G and Ryzen 3 8300G: do not assume the name tells the whole story

AMD lists Radeon 740M graphics for both processors, despite their different CPU core counts. Their graphics model is below the 760M and 780M in the documented family lineup. The available evidence does not establish their relative game performance, availability, or current value, so neither should be treated as a substitute for a tested gaming ranking.

How to interpret gaming-performance claims

Integrated-graphics results are especially sensitive to test setup. AMD says its 8700G tests were conducted in December 2023 using a system with an ASRock B650 Pro RS motherboard, 32 GB (2 × 16 GB) of 6400 MHz memory, a Samsung 980 Pro 1 TB NVMe drive, and Windows 11 Pro. The listed games were tested at 1080p, low details, with VBS enabled. These are vendor-produced results, not independent 2026 benchmarks, and should not be read as a guarantee for every system or game.

When comparing reviews, look for results with the same game, resolution, graphics preset, memory configuration, power limits, and driver or software versions. A claim without those conditions can obscure meaningful differences. AMD’s test disclosure appears on its Ryzen 8000G family page.

Budget for the whole no-GPU build

Processor price alone does not determine whether an integrated-graphics build is good value. The 8700G uses an AM5 motherboard and DDR5 memory, so compare the cost of the complete platform—not just the CPU—with other ways of meeting your gaming needs.

  • Choose an AM5 motherboard and confirm that its manufacturer lists support for the exact CPU. Check whether a BIOS update is required before purchase or installation.
  • Buy compatible DDR5 desktop memory; the 8700G does not use DDR4.
  • Account for cooling and case airflow appropriate to the selected system. The published 65 W figure is the processor’s default TDP, not a complete measure of system power or a promise of a particular temperature.
  • Compare the full system cost against a build that includes a discrete graphics card, especially if your main goal is gaming performance rather than a compact or low-cost starting system.

Why this is not a ranked list of 15 CPUs

A trustworthy “best 15” ranking requires model-by-model specifications, comparable independent gaming tests, and current price and availability data. The available evidence substantiates AMD’s four Ryzen 8000G specifications and provides editorial context for the 8700G, but it does not provide uniform tests or sufficiently verified details for 15 processors. Naming 15 models as winners would imply a level of comparison that has not been established. A shorter, qualified shortlist is more useful than a fabricated ranking.
