That is one creator’s ordering, not an official verdict: the best curved sword depends on your build, whether you play PvE or PvP, and whether you wield one sword or powerstance two. This ranking covers all 19 curved swords in the base game and DLC; the original “all 15” wording does not include the expanded category.
How to read this ranking
The list below follows Youwy’s September 16, 2024 PvE-only tier list, from lowest to highest. It is useful as a dated reference point, not a definitive ranking for every character or play mode. Its title refers to Patch 1.16, while its description calls it a Patch 1.14 tier list, so the patch label is inconsistent.
A weapon’s place in that list does not tell you whether it suits your character. Damage, scaling, status effects, reach, attack speed, weapon skill, upgrade route, and compatibility with infusions or buffs can all matter. So can the moveset you want, especially when comparing one sword with a powerstanced pair. A complete, verified current stat and location comparison for all 19 weapons is not established here, so the ranking does not include unsourced numbers or acquisition claims.

What separates some of the ranked weapons
The ranking gives an order, but it does not capture every weapon-specific feature. These mechanics may matter more to an individual build than a position in a PvE tier list.
- Wing of Astel: heavy attacks produce magical projectiles, giving it a ranged component.
- Mantis Blade: heavy attacks extend its reach.
- Falx, Dancing Blade of Ranah, and Horned Warrior’s Sword: these weapons use paired movesets. Consider that distinction when choosing how you want attacks to flow, particularly if you plan to wield two weapons.
These are differences in function, not proof that one weapon will outperform another for every build. Check the weapon’s in-game requirements, scaling, skill, and upgrade options against your character before committing resources.

What official balance notes establish
Balance changes can affect how a ranking ages, and PvP adjustments should not be confused with a PvE evaluation.
- Version 1.13, July 29, 2024: Bandai Namco listed increased poise damage for dual-wield attacks with curved swords among its PvP-exclusive balance adjustments. The change concerns dual-wield attacks in PvP; it does not establish a universal increase in curved-sword damage or a PvE ranking.
- Version 1.14, September 10, 2024: Bandai Namco listed increased attack speed for the first uncharged heavy attack for the Curved Sword weapon type under general balance adjustments.
Those notes establish the changes in those versions. They do not, by themselves, establish the complete balance history through the present or show how every weapon compares after later updates.

Which curved sword should you choose?
Use the ranking as a shortlist, then make the choice based on how you play. If you want to follow the cited PvE order, start with Wing of Astel, Bandit’s Curved Sword, or Scavenger’s Curved Sword. If you value a particular attack behavior, compare the weapons with that behavior in mind: Wing of Astel’s heavy-attack projectiles, Mantis Blade’s extended heavy-attack reach, or the paired movesets of Falx, Dancing Blade of Ranah, and Horned Warrior’s Sword.
For PvP, do not treat a PvE-only list as a direct answer. The 1.13 notes specifically address poise damage from dual-wield curved-sword attacks in PvP, while the cited list does not rank weapons for that mode. In either mode, your build and whether you use one sword or powerstance two can change which option feels strongest and most useful.
