For other styles, consider Gotham Knights for open-world co-op, LEGO DC Super-Villains for lighter shared-screen play, or Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League for an online co-op shooter.
Which DC game should you play?
| If you want… | Choose | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| A story-led Batman action-adventure | Batman: Arkham Asylum, Arkham City, and Arkham Knight | The trilogy is the direct choice for playing as Batman in action-adventure stories. |
| DC character-versus-character combat | Injustice or Injustice 2 | These are fighting games, not open-world adventures. |
| Open-world patrol with a friend | Gotham Knights | An open-world action RPG with solo or co-op patrol. |
| Local co-op and a lighter tone | LEGO DC Super-Villains | Its Steam listing specifies shared/split-screen co-op and a player-created villain. |
| A third-person shooter with online co-op | Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League | It follows the Squad in shooter gameplay and supports online co-op. |
These are recommendations by genre and play mode, not a hands-on quality ranking. The cited official and storefront material establishes the games’ formats and features, but not which one is objectively best.

Best Batman games for PC: the Arkham trilogy
For players whose main goal is a Batman story, start with Batman: Arkham Asylum, Batman: Arkham City, and Batman: Arkham Knight. Warner Bros. Games’ official Steam announcement feed describes the Batman games as an action-adventure trilogy and highlights their stories, gameplay, villains, and voice cast. See the publisher’s Steam announcement feed.
The trilogy is the most direct fit if you want to play as Batman in a story-focused action game. It is not the pick for DC-versus-DC fighting or cooperative patrol; those preferences point to other games below.
