This is the right choice when you want spectacle, recognizable characters and a lighter arcade tone. It is the wrong choice if your definition of a replacement includes authentic league licensing, a realistic career or a management office.

FIFA Secretary General Mattias Grafström described the aim as creating “greater options” for fans through a scalable gaming and esports foundation. For a buyer today, the practical conclusion is to monitor announcements while choosing a game based on its currently listed modes, platforms and licences.

- Choose your activity. For direct matches, start with eFootball. For club operations, start with Football Manager 27.
