The right target depends on your database, tactical role, budget and ability to offer minutes. Wonderkids to scout by position
The players below are examples from Beebom’s November 2025 editorial list, which considers current and potential ratings and includes players aged 21 or younger. It is not an official Sports Interactive ranking, and its order or ratings should not be assumed to match a later database or an individual save. Read Beebom’s positional shortlist.

These are leads, not transfer recommendations: the guide’s snapshots do not establish that every player will exist at the same age, club or price in your save. Even a highly rated prospect may be unaffordable, unavailable or poorly suited to your tactic.
How the later lists differ
FourFourTwo’s March 16, 2026 under-20 guide is a separate, later editorial view, described as a midseason update. It warns that potential can vary between saves; its gold and silver star labels are that publication’s framing, not a guarantee of development. See FourFourTwo’s March 2026 list.

#1 Best Overall
That article highlights Rodrigo Mora as an option at number 10 or on the left wing, and describes Ayyoub Bouaddi as a defensive-midfield prospect who may be retrained at right-back. It also suggests Ethan Nwaneri, Abdellah Ouazane and Saba Kharebashvili. Treat these as that publication’s evaluations, not independent proof that any player is the best fit for your club.
FootyMeta’s separate community-derived shortlist is a 26.3 snapshot, reviewed September 27, 2026, and rechecked after patches 26.3.1 and 26.3.2. Its player details and outcomes depend on database and save context. Because the November 2025, March 2026 and 26.3 lists are not one synchronized snapshot, compare them as distinct scouting references rather than merging them into a single ranking. How to choose the right prospect for your club
- Check the version and save. Confirm the player appears in your database and inspect their age, club and availability. A name in a published list is not proof that the same profile is present in your save.
- Separate potential from readiness. Review current ability and your scout’s uncertainty, not just the highest possible potential estimate. Beebom’s November 2025 guide, for example, lists Lamine Yamal at potential rating 95 and Endrick at 96; those are that guide’s database-specific figures, not guaranteed ratings in every save. Beebom’s guide.
- Match the player to the job. Check positional familiarity and attributes against the role you actually use, including what the player must do in and out of possession. A flexible prospect can be valuable, but retraining is not the same as immediate role suitability.
- Work out the full commitment. Look beyond the transfer fee to wages, bonuses, registration or work-permit issues where relevant, and the opportunity cost of using minutes on this player rather than another squad member. FootyMeta recommends checking the save report, role fit and total cost before making an offer. FootyMeta’s scouting guidance.
- Decide the development route before signing. Identify realistic youth-team competition, first-team rotation or a suitable loan. Football Manager’s youth-development guidance says suitable game time becomes more important at 18 and discusses youth minutes, competitive loans and first-team opportunities as ways to support progress. Avoid a plan that leaves the player stuck without meaningful minutes. Read the official FM26 youth-development tips.
Compare finalists, not just ratings
If you are choosing between two prospects, assess them against the same criteria: present readiness, the range and confidence of the potential assessment, fit across both phases of play, total cost, availability and the minutes you can realistically offer over the next 12 months. The highest potential estimate is not automatically the best signing for your team.
