If you want a game like Skribbl.io, first choose between a live draw-and-guess round and a telephone-style chain where the fun comes from seeing how prompts and drawings change. Drawize and Drawasaurus offer the familiar live format; Gartic Phone is built around the chain-and-reveal format. For an offline drawing-party game, Telestrations is a tabletop option—not a browser replacement.
Which game should you choose?
| Game | Core format | Play with friends? | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Drawize | Live drawing and guessing, plus a separate telephone-style mode | Private rooms are listed on the official page | Players who want the familiar guessing loop with extra practice modes |
| Drawasaurus | Live drawing and guessing | Private rooms with friends are listed on the official page | A straightforward browser alternative for live rounds |
| Gartic Phone | Write, draw, describe, then view the results | The official page recommends inviting friends to a voice call | Groups who want a collaborative party game and end-of-round reveals |
| Telestrations | Offline tabletop drawing-party game | Played in person | Groups looking for a screen-free alternative |
The distinction matters: live guessing keeps everyone focused on identifying a drawing in the moment, while telephone play passes ideas through a group and builds toward a final reveal. That difference is based on the games’ stated mechanics, not a ranking of quality or performance.
Browser games with live drawing and guessing
Drawize: live rounds, practice, and a telephone mode
Drawize describes itself as a browser drawing game where players take turns drawing and guessing. Its official page lists online multiplayer, private rooms, Quick Draw and Quick Guess practice, and a daily challenge. Those practice options make it worth considering if you want to draw or guess without joining a full group round.
Drawize also has a distinct mode called Drawize Phone. In that mode, one player writes a prompt, another draws it, and another guesses; the chain continues and can be replayed. Choose this mode when your group wants a telephone-style sequence rather than the standard live-guessing format. Room setup and features can change, so check the site for current options.

- CAN YOU DOODLE 10 MASTERPIECES IN A MINUTE? Six Second Scribbles challenges you to draw 10 things from a given category in 60 seconds. It’s as tricky as it sounds and leads to some brilliant, hilarious and often questionable art!
- 1000+ ITEMS TO DRAW ACROSS 100+ CATEGORIES! We’ve crammed a lot of content into a small box with categories ranging from nice and easy (food, animals, body parts) to almost impossible (tourist attractions, animated films, cheeses!)
- DRAW, DECIPHER, SCORE! All players draw their items at the same time, and when the minute is up you pass your scribbles to another player. They have to figure out what you’ve drawn and if they guess correctly, you both score points!
- THE ART OF SIMPLICITY! Six Second Scribbles is all about finding the perfect balance between quality and quantity. It’s amazing how fast a minute vanishes and how much can be conveyed with a rapid scrawl of a pencil… or how little!
- TEENY TINY PAPER! Six Second Scribbles comes in a small box, the size of four packs of cards, which contains small pencils and paper too. We love making small games. They are just as good for taking on the go as playing at home, and they use less of the world's natural resources!
Drawasaurus: a direct browser alternative
Drawasaurus describes a free online drawing-and-guessing game that runs in a browser. Its official page says you can play against strangers or use private rooms with friends, making it a simple option to investigate when you want the basic live format.
The available description does not establish current lobby size, activity levels, or comparative speed. If those factors matter to your group, check the live site rather than assuming they match another game.

- 2,000+ CARD PROMPTS: A mix of new and classic phrases keeps each game fresh and endlessly replayable.
- GREAT FOR GROUPS: Perfect for parties, family nights, and game sessions with 4–8 players ages 10+.
- EASY TO LEARN, HARD TO STOP: The worse your drawing, the funnier the game—no artistic skill required!
Choose a telephone-style game for the group reveal
Gartic Phone: prompts change as they pass between players
Gartic Phone follows a chain: players write a sentence, draw a sentence they receive, describe a drawing, and then view the results. The official instructions suggest using a separate voice call with friends.
This is a better fit when the group wants to see how an idea mutates as it passes from person to person. It is not an identical substitute for Skribbl.io’s live scoring loop: the stated sequence emphasizes reinterpretation and the final reveal, rather than guessing a drawing in real time.

For an offline option, consider Telestrations
If you want a related activity away from the browser, Telestrations is a physical tabletop drawing-party game. A UC San Diego games resource lists it among drawing games. That supports it as an offline category match, not as a digital replacement; the resource does not establish current editions, availability, or price.
