Battlefield REDSEC is the closest current choice if you want THE FINALS-style environmental tactics expanded into 100-player squad warfare with vehicles. Choose Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered when demolishing buildings matters more than arena speed, or Teardown for voxel destruction, co-op and creative sandbox play. None reproduces THE FINALS exactly: its unusual combination of rapid first-person team fights, objective pressure and destruction that changes cover and routes during a live match remains distinctive.
This guide compares the four games by destruction system, combat format, scale, pacing and multiplayer structure so you can pick the right kind of destructive combat rather than simply another arena shooter.

What makes THE FINALS different
THE FINALS is a free-to-play, first-person team shooter built around objectives in compact arenas. Its defining mechanic is not merely that walls can break; destruction has immediate tactical consequences while a match is still underway. Cover can be wrecked, buildings can be leveled and routes can be opened or denied in real time. PlayStation describes realistic destruction physics that “wreck cover, level buildings and transform the battlefield around you in real time,” while the Steam listing calls it a fast-paced, physics-driven “Dynamism Shooter.”

Repair common Windows errors and clear accumulated junk for a smoother, more stable PC - no reinstall needed.Free scan · no reinstallThat combination creates a specific rhythm: teams fight over an objective, a defensive position disappears, players improvise a new approach and the same location becomes dangerous from a different angle. Classes, gadgets and coordinated movement matter because destruction changes the value of every position. A game can therefore have breakable scenery without feeling like THE FINALS; the closest alternatives also need multiplayer combat in which the environment affects decisions, not just visual spectacle.

Battlefield REDSEC: the closest large-scale match
Why it is the best first recommendation
Battlefield REDSEC is the strongest choice when what you miss is the tactical effect of destruction, but you want a much larger battlefield. Electronic Arts describes REDSEC as a free-to-play Battlefield experience with 100 players per match. Its official update specifies either 25 squads of four or 50 duos, and says destruction can be used to reshape the environment to your advantage.
That structure preserves the important idea behind THE FINALS: the map is a resource. A wall can be removed to expose a position, a building can change a sightline and a route that was safe a moment ago can become open ground. REDSEC expands that idea with vehicles, longer sightlines and squad-level movement. The result is less about a single cash-out-style arena engagement and more about surviving a shifting war zone in which several fights can happen at once.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →What feels familiar
- Environmental damage is useful for attacking, defending and creating new approaches rather than being purely cosmetic.
- Team composition and communication matter because squads must exploit openings quickly.
- Objectives take place in spaces whose defensive value changes as structures are damaged.
- Matches reward players who read the battlefield and adapt instead of repeating one route.
What feels different
- The 100-player scale creates more downtime, travel and simultaneous engagements than THE FINALS’ compact arenas.
- Vehicles add speed, firepower and counterplay that do not define THE FINALS’ infantry-focused arena loop.
- Longer sightlines make positioning and reconnaissance more important, while close-range movement and rapid gadget combinations are less continuously central.
- A squad can lose an isolated fight without immediately ending the team’s entire plan, because the battlefield is broader and objectives are distributed.
Choose REDSEC if…
Pick REDSEC if your ideal version of THE FINALS has tanks, transports, broad fronts and many squads contesting the same evolving landscape. It is a weaker fit if you want every player to be within seconds of the objective or if you prefer destruction to remain the focus of a small, tightly choreographed arena.
Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered: the destruction-first option
Why demolition is the main event
Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered is the clearest match for players who want to knock down structures rather than merely shoot around breakable cover. The official Steam description says the game “re-defines the limits of destruction-based game-play,” offers “true physics-based destruction,” and includes fully destructible open-world environments plus highly destructive multiplayer combat modes.

Its destruction is more persistent and structural than THE FINALS’. Instead of treating a building as a temporary piece of cover inside a short competitive round, the game makes demolition a central way to move through and engage with an open world. Supports, walls and large structures can be attacked with the expectation that the physical result is the point of the encounter.
Where it overlaps with THE FINALS
- Structures can be used as tactical objects rather than indestructible scenery.
- Destroying a position can be more valuable than winning a conventional gunfight around it.
- Multiplayer modes turn the destruction system into a competitive or adversarial tool.
- Improvised attacks become possible because the environment is not limited to preset breach points.
Where it diverges
- It is an older third-person open-world shooter, not a modern first-person arena game.
- The open-world layout produces more travel and less constant objective pressure.
- Its pace is driven by exploration, missions and large-scale demolition rather than tightly timed team rotations.
- The camera perspective and age of the design change how aiming, movement and situational awareness feel.
Choose Red Faction if…
Choose it when your priority can be stated as “I want to bring the building down.” It is the best recommendation here for players who regard destruction itself as the core toy. Do not select it expecting THE FINALS’ exact class balance, first-person handling or compact competitive tempo.

Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Teardown: voxel destruction, co-op and experimentation
Why it appeals to creative players
Teardown is a destruction-physics voxel sandbox rather than a one-to-one competitive shooter replacement. Its Steam listing includes a campaign, online PvP, online co-op and Steam Workshop support. The game is built around planning breaches, manipulating tools and vehicles, and testing how a structure reacts when you remove the pieces holding it together.
That makes destruction more systemic and tool-driven than in THE FINALS. You may scout a route, remove a support, drive through a wall, set up an escape path and then execute the plan under pressure. The satisfaction comes from solving a physical problem with the tools available, not only from winning a conventional firefight.
Multiplayer expectations
Teardown supports online co-op and online PvP according to its Steam listing. A developer FAQ documented multiplayer development on Steam’s Experimental branch in 2025 and discussed multiplayer-mod support. Because experimental branches and mode availability can change, check the current in-game and store status before organizing a group session.

What you gain compared with THE FINALS
- More freedom to approach a structure through planned demolition and improvised tools.
- A stronger solo and co-op dimension through campaign missions and shared experiments.
- Voxel-based destruction that encourages testing, replaying and making your own solutions.
- Workshop and mod potential for players who want community-made scenarios or systems.
What you give up
- The central loop is not continuous high-speed team combat around a shared objective.
- Some sessions feel like engineering puzzles or sandbox experiments before they feel like a shooter match.
- Competitive balance is not the sole design priority; the environment and tools often take center stage.
- Multiplayer features and mod support may depend on the current branch or implementation.
Choose Teardown if…
Pick Teardown if you want to play with destruction, not simply use it as cover. It is the strongest choice for a group that enjoys planning a breach, testing a chain reaction or laughing at an unexpected collapse. It is not the best choice when your only goal is a tightly balanced replacement for THE FINALS’ rapid team fights.
How the destruction systems actually differ
Real-time tactical destruction: THE FINALS
In THE FINALS, destruction is a live tactical variable. A team may destroy cover to deny a hold, open a vertical route or force opponents into the open. Because this happens during an objective fight, the value of destruction is measured in seconds: can your team exploit the new line of sight before the other team recovers?
Battlefield-scale reshaping: REDSEC
REDSEC uses destruction as part of a much larger combined-arms battlefield. The same principle applies—reshape the environment to gain an advantage—but the payoff can involve a squad’s approach, a vehicle’s route or a long-range sightline. The decision is less about an arena corner and more about how a formation moves through contested terrain.
Persistent structural demolition: Red Faction
Red Faction treats physical collapse as the headline feature. Supports, walls and structures are targets in their own right, and the open-world context gives demolition room to matter beyond a single short exchange. This is the right model if you want destruction to be the objective rather than a means to reach one.
Voxel tool chains: Teardown
Teardown’s voxel approach supports deliberate tool chains: remove a barrier, reposition an object, drive through the opening and trigger the next part of a plan. Its destruction is especially suited to experimentation because the player can ask what happens if a support, vehicle or route is changed before committing to the final attempt.

Multiplayer format and pacing
| Question | THE FINALS | Battlefield REDSEC | Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered | Teardown |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| How close are fights? | Usually close, rapid and objective-centered | Distributed across a broad battlefield | Mixed with open-world travel and missions | Depends on campaign, co-op, PvP or sandbox activity |
| What does a team do? | Coordinate classes, gadgets and objective pushes | Operate as squads within large-scale combined-arms battles | Use weapons and demolition against open-world targets or multiplayer opponents | Plan breaches, use tools and solve physical spaces together |
| How much does destruction decide the match? | It can immediately change cover, routes and objective defense | It can reshape squad movement and vehicle access | It is the central attraction of the environment | It often defines the challenge or experiment itself |
| Best session length expectation | Short, intense competitive rounds | Longer, broader battles | Open-world sessions and multiplayer modes | Mission-based or experiment-driven sessions |
Pick by the kind of player you are
You want the closest competitive substitute
Start with Battlefield REDSEC, but expect scale rather than a direct clone. It carries over the idea that changing the environment can win a fight, then adds vehicles, 100-player matches and squad formations. Stay with THE FINALS if compact arenas, class-based abilities and constant objective pressure are more important than battlefield size.
You want maximum building destruction
Choose Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered. Its official description makes fully destructible environments and destructive multiplayer a central promise, and its open-world design gives you room to attack structures from multiple angles. The trade-off is third-person, older and less arena-like combat.
You want co-op destruction
Choose Teardown. Its campaign, online co-op and tool-driven voxel systems support collaborative planning and experimentation. Confirm the current multiplayer implementation and branch requirements before scheduling a session, especially if you intend to use mods.
You want vehicles and squad warfare
Choose REDSEC. EA’s stated 100-player format—25 squads of four or 50 duos—makes it the obvious option for players who want destruction embedded in a large military sandbox rather than a compact arena.
You want solo experimentation as well as multiplayer
Choose Teardown for a destruction-focused campaign and sandbox structure, or Red Faction for an open-world shooter in which demolition remains central. THE FINALS and REDSEC are more naturally read as competitive multiplayer experiences, while Teardown and Red Faction give you more room to play without a full opposing team.

How to transition from THE FINALS
Expect a different information problem
In THE FINALS, you can often read the state of an objective quickly because arenas are compact and engagements are frequent. In REDSEC, spend more attention on squad location, vehicle routes and the distance to the next fight. In Red Faction, learn the physical supports and approach angles of a structure. In Teardown, scout first and treat the environment as a puzzle before rushing into action.
Use destruction proactively
Do not wait for an opponent to create the opening. In REDSEC, a squad can reshape an approach before the push. In Red Faction, demolition can remove an entire defensive idea. In Teardown, the best plan may involve preparing an escape route before the objective is touched. The transferable skill from THE FINALS is recognizing that an intact wall is only one possible state of the map.
Recalibrate your definition of a win
THE FINALS rewards fast objective pressure. REDSEC may reward a squad that controls access over a longer engagement. Red Faction can make the collapse itself the memorable success. Teardown often rewards a clever or repeatable solution, even when the session is not structured as a conventional match.

Important availability and freshness notes
REDSEC’s 100-player structure and tactical-destruction description come from Electronic Arts updates published in 2025. Teardown’s multiplayer development and mod discussion were documented by its developer in 2025, including work on Steam’s Experimental branch. Store listings, supported platforms, branches and multiplayer modes can change after those statements. Check the current official listing for your region and platform before purchase or installation.
No reliable, apples-to-apples current-player ranking is established for these candidates, so claims that one has the largest community or longest matchmaking longevity would be speculation. Select based on the destruction model and multiplayer format that match your priorities.
Bottom line
For the closest current large-scale interpretation of THE FINALS’ tactical destruction, play Battlefield REDSEC. For destruction as the main event, play Red Faction: Guerrilla Re-Mars-tered. For voxel demolition, co-op and creative problem-solving, play Teardown. THE FINALS remains the benchmark when you want all of those environmental changes compressed into fast, objective-driven first-person team combat.
