Start with Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy. It is the closest broad match for Uncharted 2 because it combines third-person shooting, climbing, stealth, environmental puzzles, hidden tombs, historical artifacts and globe-spanning adventure. Lara Croft also gets more freedom to explore than Nathan Drake does in Uncharted’s tightly staged levels.
If you want a different part of the formula, choose The Last of Us Part I for Naughty Dog’s cinematic storytelling, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for exploration and blockbuster action, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for archaeology and puzzles, or Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag for treasure hunting in a much larger world.

The three-game collection contains Tomb Raider (2013), Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Together they preserve the action-adventure loop that makes Uncharted 2 so appealing: move through dangerous environments, climb through spectacular spaces, fight from cover, use stealth when it helps, solve physical puzzles and search for traces of a lost past.

The key difference is structure. Uncharted 2 guides you through carefully choreographed set pieces, while the Survivor trilogy gives Lara more room to leave the critical path, investigate side routes and find optional tombs. Choose it when you want the same ingredients with more exploration agency.
Tomb Raider (2013): the most direct starting point
The 2013 game is the best first stop if you want a focused, cinematic campaign. It places climbing, shooting, stealth and survival in the same sequence of locations, then breaks up combat with environmental puzzles and hidden tombs. The pacing is closer to Uncharted 2 than the later entries because its main path is strongly directed, even though it still allows optional exploration.
Its atmosphere is more survival-oriented than Nathan Drake’s wisecracking adventure tone. Lara’s ordeal feels harsher, and the danger is presented with greater physical vulnerability. That makes it a strong substitute for the mechanics, but not a one-to-one replacement for Uncharted’s lighter banter.
Rise of the Tomb Raider: more room to explore
Rise continues the same combination of traversal, gunplay, stealth, tombs and historical mystery while leaning further into exploration. It suits players who liked Uncharted’s treasure hunt but wished they could spend longer searching a location instead of being moved immediately to the next set piece.
The game remains a third-person action adventure rather than becoming a pure open-world sandbox. Its optional tombs and environmental detours add depth without abandoning the cinematic campaign structure that connects the trilogy to Uncharted 2.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider: the strongest tomb emphasis
Shadow keeps the trilogy’s shooting and stealth but puts especially strong emphasis on tombs, ancient sites and traversal challenges. It is the pick for readers whose favorite Uncharted moments are the ruins, mechanisms and historical clues rather than the firefights alone.
Because the trilogy is sold as one collection, you can follow Lara’s progression across all three games instead of choosing between separate versions. Check the edition and supported platform in your region, since storefront listings and bundles can change.

The Last of Us Part I for Naughty Dog’s storytelling DNA
The Last of Us Part I shares Naughty Dog’s cinematic presentation, character-focused writing, grounded combat and detailed world-building. If what you loved in Uncharted 2 was the sense that every encounter was staged like a film scene, this is the closest choice from the same creative lineage.
It is not a treasure-hunting substitute. The story is darker, the emotional stakes are more severe and stealth matters more than spectacle. Ammunition and supplies create pressure, and confrontations often reward patience over charging into a firefight. The result is a survival drama rather than a globe-trotting serial adventure.
Choose it when story matters more than treasure
- Pick it for tightly directed scenes, strong character relationships and careful world-building.
- Expect a heavier mood and less playful banter than Uncharted 2.
- Choose another game if climbing, ancient artifacts and optional tombs are your main priorities.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor for cinematic exploration in another universe
Star Wars Jedi: Survivor keeps the feeling of moving through spectacular environments toward major story moments, but replaces Nathan Drake’s firearms with lightsaber combat and Force abilities. Its planets contain open zones, optional routes and movement challenges, while travel between planets gives the adventure a broader sense of scale.
Multiple lightsaber styles let you approach fights differently, and new movement abilities open paths that were previously inaccessible. That combination makes it a good fit for players who want exploration and cinematic action but do not need a historical setting.

How it differs from Uncharted 2
- Combat is primarily melee rather than third-person shooting.
- The structure is less linear, with open areas to revisit and investigate.
- Traversal is ability-driven, so progress often depends on gaining a new movement power.
- The setting is science fiction, not archaeology or historical mystery.
Choose Jedi: Survivor when the appeal of Uncharted 2 is cinematic scale, movement through impressive locations and a large adventure story. Choose Tomb Raider or Indiana Jones when you specifically want ruins, relics and archaeology.
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for archaeology and puzzles
Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is the strongest substitute for the historical-adventure side of Uncharted 2. It follows an original Indiana Jones story through locations including Italy, Egypt, the Himalayas and Shanghai, giving the journey the international scope associated with classic pulp expeditions.
Indiana’s whip is both a traversal tool and a weapon, so movement and combat are tied directly to the character. The game also includes many puzzles, making it a particularly good choice if your favorite Uncharted sequences involve deciphering mechanisms, examining clues and entering sealed ruins.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
What you gain and what you give up
You gain a stronger archaeology focus and a tool that makes traversal feel character-specific. You give up some of Uncharted’s emphasis on sustained third-person shooting; the adventure is built more around investigation, puzzle solving and improvised encounters.

Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag for a bigger treasure-hunting world
Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag takes the travel and treasure elements of Uncharted 2 and expands them into a Caribbean open world. You can sail between islands, fight at sea, search for buried treasure and solve puzzles across a much larger environment than Uncharted’s staged levels.
Its freedom is both the attraction and the main adjustment. Instead of being pushed from one dramatic sequence to the next, you decide when to pursue the story, explore an island or engage in ship combat. The setting also changes the fantasy from archaeological expedition to pirate adventure.
Choose Black Flag if you want agency
- Choose it for sailing, ship battles and a broad sense of geographic travel.
- Choose it for treasure hunts that are distributed throughout an open world.
- Do not choose it if you want every encounter choreographed with Uncharted-style pacing.
It is the best recommendation here for players who want the “go anywhere and find something” side of adventure-action games.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →God of War (2018) for mythic exploration and character drama
God of War (2018) combines exploration, climbing, environmental puzzles and extensive mythological lore with a powerful parent-child relationship. Its world is divided into semi-open regions, so it offers more freedom than Uncharted 2 without becoming as unconstrained as a fully open-world game.
The combat is the largest mechanical departure. Encounters are built around close-range weapons and abilities rather than third-person shooting, and the tone is more mythic and introspective. The relationship at the center of the story carries much of the emotional weight that Uncharted places on friendship, rivalry and adventure banter.

When it is the right alternative
Choose God of War if you want a substantial journey through legendary landscapes, environmental problem solving and a story driven by family. Choose Tomb Raider or Indiana Jones if ancient history and archaeological treasure are more important to you than mythology.
Ghost of Tsushima for historical open-world combat
Ghost of Tsushima offers beautiful historical locations, precise movement and engaging combat in a fully open world. Its setting and sense of place can satisfy the desire to travel through a carefully realized historical environment, but its structure is less tightly choreographed than Uncharted 2.
The combat is built around melee technique rather than shooting, and exploration is organized around an open landscape instead of a sequence of directed climbing set pieces. That makes it a strong choice for players who want a serious historical action game and the freedom to choose their route.
Ghost of Tsushima versus Tomb Raider
Ghost of Tsushima is better for open-world wandering and sword combat. The Survivor trilogy is better for climbing, tombs, stealth and a concentrated treasure-hunt campaign. Decide whether you want a broad historical world or a more focused sequence of ruins and action scenes.

If you want climbing, shooting and puzzles together
Choose Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy. It is the only recommendation that keeps all three elements at the center of the experience across multiple campaigns.
If you want the most cinematic, linear pacing
Start with Tomb Raider (2013) for a similar action-adventure rhythm. Choose The Last of Us Part I instead if cinematic storytelling matters more than treasure hunting and you are comfortable with a much darker mood.
If you want more freedom than Uncharted allows
Choose Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag for the largest world and the strongest travel fantasy. Ghost of Tsushima is the better alternative if you prefer historical sword combat, while Star Wars Jedi: Survivor offers open zones within a science-fiction adventure.

If puzzles and ancient history are non-negotiable
Choose Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for archaeology, a whip-based traversal system and numerous puzzles. Choose Shadow of the Tomb Raider if you also want stealth and third-person shooting to remain central.
If character relationships are the main attraction
Choose The Last of Us Part I for grounded emotional intensity or God of War for mythological storytelling built around a parent and child. Both move farther from Uncharted’s treasure-hunt tone than the Tomb Raider games do.
What changes when you leave Uncharted 2?
Pacing
Uncharted 2 is famous for directing you through set pieces with little downtime. The closest alternatives still vary: Tomb Raider keeps a guided campaign but adds optional detours; Jedi: Survivor, Black Flag and Ghost of Tsushima give you progressively more freedom; God of War sits between those extremes.

Only the Tomb Raider games preserve the same broad mix of third-person shooting, stealth and environmental movement. The Last of Us Part I is also a shooter, but its survival systems and stealth pressure make encounters more cautious. The other recommendations shift to lightsabers, melee weapons, a whip or swordplay.
Traversal
Uncharted’s climbing is usually part of a directed route. Tomb Raider adds optional tombs and exploration, Jedi: Survivor gates routes behind movement abilities, Indiana Jones uses the whip as a signature tool, and the open-world games let you travel across much larger spaces.
Tone
For a light historical adventure, choose Indiana Jones or Black Flag. For survival drama, choose The Last of Us Part I or Tomb Raider. For mythology, choose God of War; for science fiction, choose Jedi: Survivor; for serious historical warfare, choose Ghost of Tsushima.
Edition and availability checks before buying
Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy is a collection, so verify that the listing includes Tomb Raider (2013), Rise of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider rather than a single-game edition. For every recommendation, confirm the supported platform, edition contents, language options and regional storefront terms at the time of purchase.
