For customizable lighting and remappable controls, compare the Razer Basilisk V3, Razer Cobra Pro, Corsair Scimitar RGB Elite, and Logitech G403 by how their buttons are arranged, whether profiles save onboard, and which software they require. The Scimitar RGB Elite is the standout if you want to physically reposition a side-button cluster; the other options serve different preferences, from a compact wireless shape to a simpler six-button layout. These are manufacturer-documented features, not a tested ranking for comfort or performance.
The supplied title specifies 2025, but the product information checked through October 8, 2026 is not a verified historical snapshot of US availability in 2025. This updated comparison therefore focuses on documented features and does not claim that each model is currently in stock in the United States.
What “personalization” means for a gaming mouse
Before choosing by button count or RGB, separate three features that are often conflated:
- Lighting customization: the software options and number of RGB zones you can control.
- Button customization: software remapping and, where supported, macros. This does not necessarily mean the buttons can be physically moved.
- Onboard profiles: settings stored on the mouse so you can switch profiles without relying on the configuration app being open. Profile storage does not, by itself, establish that every lighting effect or software feature will work after disconnecting the app.
Button count alone is not a measure of fit. Think about where your thumb naturally rests and whether you want a few distinct controls or a dense side grid; the manufacturer specifications below do not compare comfort or hand fit.

The counts and features in this table are manufacturer statements, not results from a comparative test. The Razer and Logitech pages do not display publication dates in the inspected material; Corsair’s product information page was updated February 13, 2026, and its Scimitar FAQ September 4, 2025.
Which mouse fits your personalization priorities?
Choose the Basilisk V3 to explore a configurable general-purpose layout
The Basilisk V3 combines 10+1 programmable buttons, Chroma RGB, five onboard profiles, and a thumb-rest design. Razer says Synapse 3 is needed to configure mappings, macros, and lighting. Its bottom button defaults to switching onboard profiles; Razer also suggests HyperShift for assigning a secondary button profile. The feature set makes it worth considering if you want more configurable inputs without a 12-button side grid, but the official specifications do not establish that its shape will suit your hand or grip.

- HERO Gaming Sensor: Next generation HERO mouse sensor delivers precision tracking up to 25600 DPI with zero smoothing, filtering or acceleration
- 11 programmable buttons and dual mode hyper-fast scroll wheel: The Logitech wired gaming mouse gives you fully customizable control over your gameplay
- Adjustable weights: Match your playing style. Arrange up to five 3.6 g weights for a personalized weight and balance configuration
- LIGHTSYNC technology: Logitech G LIGHTSYNC technology provides fully customizable RGB lighting that can also synchronize with your gaming (requires Logitech Gaming Software)
- Mechanical Switch Button Tensioning: A metal spring tensioning system and metal pivot hinges are built into left and right computer gaming mouse buttons for a crisp, clean click feel with rapid click feedback
Choose the Cobra Pro if wireless modes and lighting zones matter
The Cobra Pro offers 10 customizable controls and 11-zone Chroma lighting with underglow, alongside five onboard profiles. Razer lists wired, Bluetooth, and HyperSpeed Wireless modes and states a weight of 77 g. Synapse is required to configure mappings, macros, and lighting. The feature list supports considering it for wireless flexibility and zone-based lighting, not as a substitute for a mouse built around a dense MMO-style thumb cluster. The available documentation does not independently validate how every lighting effect behaves when the software is disconnected.
Choose the Scimitar RGB Elite if you want to move the side buttons physically
The Scimitar RGB Elite is the only model here whose documented feature is physical repositioning of the side-button cluster: its 12 side buttons slide along the mouse’s side. It has 17 programmable buttons overall, four-zone RGB, and three onboard profiles. Corsair says iCUE can customize lighting, create macros, and save hardware profiles. This makes the slider a useful selection criterion if the position of a thumb grid matters to you; it does not prove that the layout will be comfortable for every hand. Corsair describes the mouse as wired and oriented toward MMO/MOBA use.

Choose the G403 for fewer controls and onboard memory
The G403 is the least button-dense option in this group, with six programmable buttons, customizable LIGHTSYNC RGB, and onboard memory. Logitech describes configuration through Logitech Gaming Software. Because the cited product page is a regional storefront, check that the exact US model supports the software and features you need, as well as whether it is available from a seller you trust.
Set up buttons, lighting, and profiles
Each mouse relies on its manufacturer’s configuration software for at least some personalization. Before building a layout, confirm which profile is active and save it to onboard memory if you want to carry settings with the mouse.

- Basilisk V3: install and open Razer Synapse 3, then configure button mappings, macros, and lighting. Razer says the bottom button switches onboard profiles by default; use that control to change profiles or configure a secondary layer with HyperShift.
- Cobra Pro: use Razer Synapse to configure mappings, macros, and lighting, then save settings to one of its five onboard profiles. The cited documentation does not establish that all effects and features persist identically without Synapse.
- Scimitar RGB Elite: use Corsair iCUE to customize lighting, create button macros, and create hardware profiles. Save up to three profiles onboard; reposition the side-button slider to a location that suits your thumb before settling on a mapping.
- G403: configure the mouse through Logitech Gaming Software and use onboard memory to carry settings. Confirm the software and hardware support for the specific US SKU you are considering.
For macros, check the game’s rules before assigning automated input sequences. The product documentation describes configuration features, not whether a particular game permits every macro or remapping setup.

These four mice differ meaningfully in layout and documented customization, but the cited manufacturer pages do not provide controlled comparisons of comfort, durability in extended use, sensor performance, or gaming advantage. Nor do the feature counts establish which mouse is “best overall.” Treat the list as a way to narrow choices by preferred controls, profile storage, lighting, and connection type, then verify the model’s shape and current US availability before buying.
