For path tracing, follow IO Interactive’s September 25, 2026 recommendations: use Medium at 1080p on an RTX 5070 or 1440p on an RTX 5080, and High at up to 4K on an RTX 5090. Set DLSS Super Resolution to Auto, then choose Multi Frame Generation or Dynamic Multi Frame Generation to suit your preferred frame-rate behavior. These are developer recommendations and estimates, not independent benchmark results.
Recommended path-tracing settings by graphics card
The table reflects IO Interactive’s guidance in its September 25, 2026 version 1.2.2 update. Its estimates can vary by mission and checkpoint.

These tiers describe the GPUs and resolutions named for path tracing; they do not establish that other graphics cards cannot run the game. The update does not provide an equivalent path-tracing recommendation for non-RTX 50-series cards.
How to apply the settings
- Update 007 First Light and your graphics driver. NVIDIA recommends its current GeForce Game Ready driver for the path-tracing and Ray Reconstruction update: NVIDIA’s update announcement.
- Open Options → Graphics and use the restore-to-defaults action before setting up the game manually.
- Turn VSync off only if that suits your display setup and preference; IO Interactive describes it as display-dependent.
- Choose the path-tracing level and fullscreen resolution for your GPU from the table.
- Set Resolution Scaling to NVIDIA DLSS, then set DLSS Super Resolution to Auto.
- Enable Multi Frame Generation and choose a multiplier, or select Dynamic Multi Frame Generation to have the multiplier adjust toward a consistent FPS target.
Medium or High path tracing?
IO Interactive describes High as using higher-quality shading, more detailed reflections, and more light bounces. The added accuracy is very resource-intensive, so its balanced-experience recommendation is Medium except for RTX 5090. Use Medium as the starting point on the named RTX 5070 and RTX 5080 tiers; choose High on an RTX 5090 if visual accuracy is the priority and the performance trade-off is acceptable.

Path tracing and Ray Reconstruction arrived in the September 15, 2026 update. NVIDIA says the features improve lighting, shadows, reflections, and reconstruction fidelity. The later September 25 patch also lists performance fixes, including scene-specific corrections, so results can depend on the game build.
What frame generation numbers mean
Frame Generation increases displayed frame rate by inserting generated frames between rendered frames. IO Interactive describes 6x Multi Frame Generation as producing five generated frames for each rendered frame. Therefore, its 200+ fps figure for RTX 5090 with 6x generation is not equivalent to rendering more than 200 frames per second natively. The patch recommends settings but does not quantify latency; its estimates alone cannot establish how responsive a particular setup will feel.

How launch-era PC requirements differ
IO Interactive’s January 6, 2026 announcement listed these general launch targets, before path tracing was added. They answer a different question from the later path-tracing recommendations above.

Those are the developer’s launch-era specifications, not a revised compatibility matrix for the path-tracing update. In particular, the launch recommended GPU should not be read as IO Interactive’s official path-tracing recommendation. Settings the developer guide does not specify
The captured current manual guidance does not establish exact values for texture quality, non-path-tracing shadow options, motion blur, field of view, or settings for GPUs outside the named path-tracing tiers. Avoid treating particular values for those options as official recommendations without a relevant independent test for the same build and hardware.
