Best graphics and performance settings for Warota on Steam (what you can tune now)

By VGSources Team 10 min read

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

There is no developer-verified “best” preset for Warota yet. The Steam listing still marks Warota: I Live Next to The Demon King’s Castle LOL as coming soon and planned for Early Access. It publishes minimum PC specifications, but no recommended preset, target frame rate, Steam Deck profile, or setting-by-setting benchmark. The most reliable approach is therefore a controlled starting profile: meet or exceed the minimum hardware, begin at native resolution with the default preset, then lower the options that cost the most GPU time while checking frame-time consistency after every change.

What is officially known about Warota’s PC performance

Release status and why that matters

One or Eight and Team EARTHWARS are listed as the developers, with One or Eight as publisher. The game combines village construction, crafting, exploration, class-swapping hats and action combat. Its Steam page currently says Coming soon, with an Early Access release planned. The page describes an expected Early Access period of approximately one year. A developer announcement on the official Steam Community page said the team was working toward release during 2026; the same community page described closed-beta plans, with the first round available in Japanese only.

That development status means graphics options, shader compilation, asset streaming and CPU workloads can change before and during Early Access. A setting that behaves well in one build should not be treated as a permanent guarantee. Record the game version and driver version whenever you compare results.

Published minimum requirements

Component Official minimum What it means for tuning
Operating system Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit A 64-bit Windows installation is required.
Processor Intel Core i5-9400 Large villages, simulation work and combat effects may become CPU-limited even when the graphics card has spare capacity.
Memory 8 GB RAM Close unnecessary applications and watch for paging; 8 GB leaves little headroom for Windows and background software.
Graphics card GeForce GTX 1050 Ti with 4 GB VRAM This is the published baseline, not a promise of a particular frame rate.
Graphics API DirectX 11 Use a current driver that supports the game’s DirectX 11 path.

Steam Support explicitly cautions that meeting system requirements does not mean you will receive high FPS or strong in-game performance. Treat the table as an eligibility baseline, not a performance certification.

Specifications that have not been published

There is currently no official recommended GPU, recommended CPU, graphics preset, target FPS, benchmark table, Steam Deck configuration, or per-setting performance analysis. Any “best settings” list claiming a guaranteed frame rate is extrapolating beyond the available Warota documentation.

Prepare the PC before changing graphics options

Do these checks first. Otherwise, a background process or driver problem can look like a game-setting problem.

  1. Compare your hardware with the minimum. Verify the CPU model, installed RAM, GPU model and VRAM, Windows edition and DirectX support. If the graphics card is below the GTX 1050 Ti 4GB baseline, menu changes may not overcome the hardware limit.
  2. Update the graphics driver. Install the current driver offered for your GPU, restart Windows, and test again. Do not compare a new driver and a new graphics preset at the same time; change one variable first.
  3. Free memory and background capacity. Close browsers with many tabs, launchers, recording tools and other applications you do not need while playing. Steam Support lists closing unnecessary background applications and freeing memory among its first troubleshooting steps.
  4. Check storage headroom. Keep adequate free space on the drive containing Windows and the game. A nearly full drive can worsen patching and asset-streaming behavior even when the game’s graphics settings are unchanged.
  5. Use a stable power and thermal state. On a laptop, connect the charger and select the normal performance mode. Clean blocked vents and make sure the GPU is not reducing its clock because of temperature or power limits.

Use this starting profile

Because Warota has no validated preset, start with the game’s own default preset at your monitor’s native resolution. Play the same short route through a village, an exploration area and a combat encounter for several minutes. Note average smoothness, the worst hitch and whether the image is clear enough to read. Then change one option at a time.

Option group First adjustment when performance is poor Visual or performance trade-off
Resolution or render scale Keep native resolution initially; reduce render scale or output resolution only after individual effects are reduced. Usually a large GPU improvement, but the image becomes softer and fine text is harder to read.
Shadows Move from high to medium, then low if frame rate still fluctuates. Lower settings reduce shadow detail and contact definition, often at a substantial GPU cost saving.
Reflections Lower or disable if the option exists and scenes contain water or glossy surfaces. Reflections become simpler or disappear; the gain depends on how often the game renders them.
Volumetric effects Reduce fog, light shafts or volumetric quality before lowering textures. Atmospheric lighting looks less dense, while GPU time can fall in effects-heavy scenes.
Ambient occlusion Use a lower quality or disable it if frame times remain high. Creases and contact shadows are less pronounced, but geometry remains the same.
View distance Reduce modestly if the CPU or GPU is overloaded in large outdoor views. Distant objects can appear later or at lower detail; village and exploration scenes may benefit most.
Textures Keep high enough to fit available VRAM; lower only after stutter, hitching or visible memory pressure. Lower textures make surfaces blurrier but can prevent VRAM exhaustion and asset-streaming stalls.

The order above is general PC-game tuning guidance, not a Warota benchmark. The game may expose different names or fewer controls. If an option is absent, skip it rather than substituting an unverified launch command.

Choose resolution and a sensible frame-rate goal

Native resolution is the best image-quality reference because it matches the monitor’s pixel grid. If the default preset is unstable, lower expensive effects first. Only then test a lower output resolution or render scale. A lower resolution can produce a larger gain than any single effect, but it also affects every object on screen.

Warota has no published target FPS. Pick a goal your monitor and hardware can sustain rather than chasing an unsupported number. A locked, consistent frame rate generally feels better than a higher rate that repeatedly drops during combat or traversal. If the game offers an in-game frame cap, set it near the rate your system can hold in the heaviest scene you can reproduce. If it does not, use your display’s normal refresh and judge consistency by repeated play rather than by a menu counter alone.

When testing, distinguish an average FPS increase from better frame pacing. A setting that raises the average but leaves regular long pauses is not an improvement for exploration or combat. Record the worst hitch you notice, not only the highest number shown by an overlay.

How to handle VRAM and the GTX 1050 Ti baseline

The minimum GPU has 4 GB of VRAM. That amount can be enough for a carefully tuned profile, but it leaves limited texture headroom once Windows, the game and high-resolution assets are resident. Texture quality usually changes image detail more than frame time until VRAM is full; after that point, streaming and hitching can become the dominant problem.

Signs that textures are the problem

  • Short freezes occur when entering a new village or turning the camera quickly, while average FPS looks acceptable.
  • Stutter becomes worse after visiting several areas and improves after restarting the game.
  • The graphics menu reports high or near-maximum VRAM use, if Warota exposes such a meter.
  • Lowering shadows barely helps, but lowering textures or texture streaming quality removes the hitch.

If these symptoms appear, reduce textures one step, restart the game if requested, and repeat the same route. Do not lower textures automatically on every 4 GB card; keep them higher when memory use is stable and the image benefits.

Diagnose low FPS, stutter and uneven frame times

Low FPS all the time

  1. Confirm that the GPU is the component at full utilization while the CPU is not saturated.
  2. Lower shadows, volumetrics, reflections and ambient occlusion in that order when those controls exist.
  3. Test a lower render scale or resolution if the GPU remains overloaded.
  4. Keep textures at a level that fits VRAM; lowering them will not fix a shader or geometry bottleneck by itself.

Good average FPS but regular hitching

  1. Close background programs and free memory.
  2. Lower textures one step if the hitch coincides with entering new areas or turning rapidly.
  3. Check for driver updates and restart Windows after installing one.
  4. Repeat the same route to see whether the hitch is reproducible. A one-time pause during first-time shader or asset loading is different from a pause that repeats every pass.

Large drops in villages or crowded scenes

This pattern can indicate CPU or draw-call pressure rather than a simple GPU limit. Reduce view distance or crowd and simulation-related options if the game provides them. Close background CPU workloads, and compare CPU utilization with GPU utilization. If one CPU core is saturated while the GPU is underused, lowering resolution may have little effect.

Crashes, black screens or missing graphics

Return to the default preset, verify that Windows is 64-bit and DirectX 11 capable, update the graphics driver, and remove third-party overlays one at a time for testing. Do not assume a Valve/Source launch option fixes Warota: options such as -autoconfig and -safe are documented for Valve/Source games, and the available Warota information does not establish support for them.

  1. Use native resolution and the default preset for the first test.
  2. Close every nonessential application and confirm that Windows is not paging heavily.
  3. Lower shadows, volumetric effects, reflections and ambient occlusion.
  4. Reduce view distance modestly if large outdoor scenes remain unstable.
  5. Keep textures at medium or the highest level that does not produce VRAM-related hitching.
  6. Only then lower render scale or output resolution.
  7. Replay the same village, exploration and combat route after each change.

If the machine is below the published GPU baseline, consider the result experimental. A lower resolution can make the game start or feel more responsive, but it cannot supply missing VRAM, CPU throughput or driver support.

Scaling settings on hardware above the minimum

More capable hardware gives you room to raise image quality, but it does not create an official Warota recommendation. Increase one group at a time: textures first when VRAM allows, then view distance, shadows, reflections and volumetric effects. Watch both GPU utilization and frame-time consistency. If the GPU is comfortably below full load but frame times still spike in villages, raising resolution will not solve a CPU or streaming bottleneck.

Observed limit Likely useful change Change that may not help
GPU consistently near full utilization Lower shadows, volumetrics, reflections, ambient occlusion, then resolution. Lowering textures when VRAM is not full.
VRAM nearly full with traversal hitching Lower textures or streaming quality and close memory-heavy applications. Lowering resolution alone.
One or more CPU cores saturated in villages Reduce view distance or simulation-related detail and close CPU-heavy background tasks. Lowering texture quality.
Low utilization but inconsistent frame times Check drivers, thermals, storage and background processes; repeat the same route. Randomly changing several graphics options at once.

Steam Deck: what is and is not known

No official Steam Deck graphics profile, frame-rate target or compatibility guidance has been published for Warota in the available material. Do not copy a profile from another game and call it a Warota fix. If you test it on a Deck, document the SteamOS version, game build, resolution, frame cap and whether the test used the internal display or an external monitor. Treat the result as personal testing until the developer publishes a supported configuration.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A repeatable test method

Use this loop whenever the game or driver changes:

  1. Write down the game build, Windows version, driver version, resolution and preset.
  2. Choose a repeatable route that includes village construction, traversal and combat; avoid comparing a quiet menu with a busy scene.
  3. Play long enough for the same area to stream in and for temperatures to stabilize.
  4. Change exactly one setting or one related group.
  5. Record average smoothness, the worst hitch, GPU and CPU utilization, VRAM use and temperatures when available.
  6. Keep the change only if it improves the limiting behavior without an unacceptable image-quality loss.

This method prevents a driver update, background process and graphics change from being mistaken for one another. It also gives you useful evidence to report if an Early Access build introduces a regression.

When a hardware upgrade is the realistic answer

If a PC is below the published GTX 1050 Ti 4GB, i5-9400 or 8 GB RAM baseline, software tuning may have limited effect. A GPU upgrade is most relevant when utilization is permanently high and lowering effects or resolution produces a clear improvement. Additional RAM is most relevant when Windows and the game are paging or when closing applications changes stutter dramatically. A CPU upgrade matters when villages or simulation-heavy scenes are CPU-bound while the GPU is underused.

Do not buy against an unverified recommended specification: Warota’s official page has not published one. Reassess after the Early Access build and its graphics documentation stabilize.

How these recommendations should change after launch

Early Access updates can add options, alter defaults, change asset sizes or improve shader compilation. Recheck the official Steam listing and developer announcements after launch, then replace this starting method with measured settings if the developers publish a target FPS, recommended hardware or benchmark data. Until then, the defensible answer is a test-based profile built around the published minimum and Steam Support’s basic guidance: current drivers, fewer background processes, adequate memory, an appropriate resolution and lower video options when performance is inadequate.
