Best graphics settings for Jurassic World Evolution 3 on Steam Deck and PC

For Steam Deck, start with the Steam Deck preset at 1280×800, FSR 3 Quality, and a 30 fps cap. That combination is the sensible balance between image quality and frame-time consistency. On PC, begin with the preset that matches your graphics card tier, then adjust resolution, upscaling, and individual effects while testing in the same park and camera position. A small park can run smoothly while a large sandbox with many guests and active dinosaurs becomes CPU-limited, so no preset guarantees a fixed frame rate everywhere.

Jurassic World Evolution 3 launched on October 21, 2025. Steam lists 16 GB of memory, DirectX 12, and 25 GB of storage for both official PC tiers. The minimum graphics tier is a GTX 1060, RX 5600 XT, or Arc A750; the recommended tier is an RTX 2070 Super, RX 6700 XT, or Arc B580. Those specifications identify the hardware class the game expects, not a guaranteed resolution or fps target.

Recommended starting settings at a glance

Platform or target Preset Output resolution Upscaling Frame-rate target What to expect
Steam Deck Steam Deck 1280×800 FSR 3 Quality 30 fps cap Realistic baseline; large parks may still be CPU-limited
PC near minimum specification Start at the lower preset closest to your GPU tier Monitor native resolution if frame time allows; otherwise reduce output carefully Use the game’s available upscaling before making a large resolution cut Choose 30 or an achievable higher cap Expect to tune for your park, not only your hardware label
PC near recommended specification Recommended or one step below Monitor native resolution when GPU headroom is available Native or quality upscaling, according to frame-time stability 60 fps where the park and CPU permit Simulation load can still prevent a locked 60
High-end PC High or Ultra, then test Native monitor resolution Optional; retain it if it improves frame time without distracting artifacts 60 fps or your monitor’s cap Results vary with CPU, park size, and guest activity

These are starting profiles, not universal benchmarks. Frontier and Steam have published requirements and troubleshooting guidance, but there is no official per-setting fps table covering every PC graphics card, processor, park size, and Steam Deck model.

A machine between these rows should be treated as an in-between case. A card with more video memory does not automatically compensate for a weaker processor, especially when a park’s simulation becomes the limiting factor. Conversely, a fast CPU cannot make a graphics card below the minimum tier meet the game’s requirements. Check Windows is at least version 22H2 when using the minimum Windows 10 path, and leave more free space than the listed 25 GB so updates have room to install.

How to tune the PC version without chasing misleading numbers

1. Start with the closest hardware preset

Open the graphics menu and select the preset nearest your graphics card’s official tier. Treat this as a controlled starting point rather than a final answer. A system around the GTX 1060, RX 5600 XT, or Arc A750 class should begin conservatively. A system around the RTX 2070 Super, RX 6700 XT, or Arc B580 class can begin at the recommended preset, then test whether higher quality is sustainable.

2. Confirm the intended display resolution

Make sure the game is rendering for the monitor you actually use. A preset can appear unexpectedly slow simply because it selected a higher resolution than intended, while an apparently fast result may come from a lower-than-native output. Record the resolution, refresh rate, and frame cap before comparing two settings.

3. Establish a repeatable test scene

Load the same save, visit the same area of the park, and use a similar camera angle for every change. Walk or fly through a section containing guests, dinosaurs, buildings, and active systems rather than judging only an empty landscape. This keeps each adjustment meaningful. Test both a quiet view and your busiest area, because the graphics workload and the simulation workload can diverge.

4. Decide whether the GPU or the simulation is limiting you

If the graphics processor is busy and frame time improves when you lower image quality, you are primarily GPU-limited. If reducing resolution changes little while frame rate falls in crowded areas, the processor handling the simulation may be limiting you. A graphics preset cannot remove every CPU cost from a large park. Keep this distinction in mind before buying a graphics card or lowering image quality unnecessarily.

5. Lower expensive effects before sacrificing all output resolution

When frame time is unstable, reduce the effects that consume the most GPU time in the game’s menu, then retest. Use upscaling before making an aggressive cut to output resolution; a quality upscaler can preserve more perceived detail than simply shrinking the entire image. Change one group of options at a time and keep notes so you can return to the last stable configuration.

6. Raise quality gradually when there is headroom

If frame time remains stable and the GPU is not saturated, increase one image-quality option or move up one preset step. Do not change several options at once: you will not know which setting caused a later dip, shimmer, or stutter. After each increase, revisit the busiest part of the same park. A setting that is comfortable in a new, empty map is not proof that it will hold in a mature sandbox.

Native resolution, FSR, and lower presets

When native resolution is preferable

Native rendering avoids reconstruction artifacts and is the clearest choice when your GPU has substantial headroom. Fine fences, foliage, dinosaur scales, and distant structures can look steadier without upscaling. Use native output if it remains within your frame-time target in both a quiet area and the park’s busiest location.

When FSR is the better compromise

Upscaling reduces the internal rendering workload while preserving the monitor’s output resolution. On Steam Deck, FSR 3 Quality is the documented starting point because 1280×800 output is demanding for the handheld’s power envelope. On PC, a quality mode can also help a borderline GPU maintain steadier frame times. Inspect moving foliage, thin rails, signage, and water for shimmer or softness; if artifacts are distracting, try native rendering at a lower preset or a different quality level.

When to lower the output resolution

Lowering output resolution is a valid recovery step when the GPU remains overloaded after reducing expensive effects and choosing a sensible upscaling mode. Make a small change first and compare the same scene. A large drop may improve fps but can make the interface and distant detail noticeably soft, particularly on a desktop monitor. On Deck, stay at the panel’s 1280×800 output while adjusting the preset or upscaling quality first, unless you have already confirmed those changes are insufficient.

Best Steam Deck profile and how to adjust it

Start with the tested baseline

  1. Open Jurassic World Evolution 3’s graphics settings on the Steam Deck.
  2. Select the Steam Deck preset.
  3. Set the output to 1280×800.
  4. Choose FSR 3 Quality.
  5. Apply a 30 fps cap using the game’s frame-rate control or your preferred SteamOS limiter.
  6. Load a representative park and play for several minutes, including its busiest guest and dinosaur areas.

This profile prioritizes consistent frame time over a nominally higher but unstable frame rate. A 30 fps cap also avoids asking the handheld to render frames it cannot sustain, which can reduce unnecessary power use and heat compared with an uncapped workload.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If the Deck preset still dips

  1. Keep the 1280×800 output and lower the preset one step.
  2. If dips remain, reduce FSR quality one step and inspect the image for distracting reconstruction artifacts.
  3. Retest in the same busy area rather than an empty section of the map.
  4. If the game is smooth in a small park but slows as the park grows, treat the change as simulation load rather than a simple graphics-quality problem.

Do not promise yourself a locked 60 fps on Deck from a graphics preset alone. Dense guest populations, many active dinosaurs, and a large sandbox can increase CPU work even when the image is already being rendered at a modest internal resolution. Third-party testing explored Medium, High, and Very High presets, but those results are configuration-specific and should not be treated as a universal Deck profile.

Choosing a 30 fps or 60 fps target on PC

Target Use it when Adjustment strategy Main trade-off
30 fps Your system is near minimum, or large parks make 60 inconsistent Use a conservative preset, quality upscaling, and a firm cap; prioritize frame-time consistency Less camera and interface fluidity
60 fps Your GPU and CPU both have headroom in the busiest tested park area Start at recommended settings, then raise quality one option at a time while monitoring frame time Higher power draw and more frequent dips if the simulation becomes CPU-limited
Uncapped or high-refresh target Only when your system maintains the desired rate across representative parks Verify temperatures, frame-time consistency, and busy areas before keeping the cap high More heat, noise, and power use for gains you may not see in heavy simulation scenes

TechRadar reported 60 fps on Ultra during its test with an RTX 3080 laptop. That is useful evidence that a high-end PC can reach 60 fps in a particular configuration, but it is not a promise for every desktop, laptop, park, or camera view. Use it as an example of platform separation: Deck guidance should not be copied to a powerful PC, and a high-end laptop result should not be applied to a minimum-tier machine.

Park size is part of the graphics-setting decision

Jurassic World Evolution 3 combines rendered scenery with a live management simulation. As a park grows, more guests, animals, staff, buildings, paths, and systems may need to be updated. The busiest scene can therefore become CPU-limited even after you lower GPU-heavy options. Large sandbox parks are the most important validation case if that is how you play.

  • New or small park: useful for checking image quality and basic GPU performance, but too light to validate a long-term sandbox.
  • Established park: better for testing guest density, animal activity, and the simulation’s sustained workload.
  • Large sandbox: the most demanding case; accept that a graphics setting that works elsewhere may not hold the same frame rate.

Keep a separate profile if you alternate between compact challenge maps and a very large sandbox. A single universal preset forces you to compromise image quality in light scenes or tolerate dips in heavy ones.

  1. Check the specification: compare your Windows version, processor, memory, graphics card, DirectX 12 support, and available storage with Steam’s minimum requirements.
  2. Update Windows: install current Windows updates, then restart before testing again.
  3. Disable the Steam overlay while diagnosing: turn off the overlay temporarily and see whether the crash or stutter changes.
  4. Lower the game’s graphics settings: move to a lower preset, reduce expensive effects, and use a sensible upscaling mode.
  5. Retest consistently: use the same save and camera position so you can tell whether the change solved the problem.

Changing several variables at once makes diagnosis harder. Keep a record of the original preset, resolution, upscaling mode, cap, and park location. If a lower setting fixes the issue, raise options individually later to find the highest stable configuration.

Recheck after updates before upgrading hardware

Performance can change with patches. Frontier’s official Steam announcement says Update 1.5.4 became available on all platforms on October 15, 2026, and lists a crash fix under “Stability & Performance.” If your problem began before that update, test the current build first. Conversely, if a previously stable save behaves differently after a patch, repeat the same controlled comparison before concluding that your hardware has become inadequate.

Patch awareness matters particularly for Steam Deck, where a small change in frame pacing can affect the usefulness of a 30 fps cap, and for large parks that already sit close to a CPU limit. Keep your operating system and game version current, but do not assume that every patch improves every scene equally.

Practical profiles by situation

Situation Recommended approach Why
Deck, first launch Steam Deck preset, 1280×800, FSR 3 Quality, 30 fps cap Documented starting balance for the handheld
Deck, busy mature park Keep the 30 fps cap; lower preset or FSR quality stepwise if dips persist Simulation load can rise independently of image quality
PC at minimum tier Conservative preset, verify intended resolution, use upscaling, test a 30 fps cap first Leaves room for demanding scenes without promising a universal rate
PC at recommended tier Recommended preset, native or quality upscaling, then test for 60 in the busiest park Uses the official hardware target while accounting for CPU load
High-end PC Try High or Ultra at native resolution; retain a cap that remains stable in large parks Maximum settings are worthwhile only when frame time remains consistent
Crashes or unexplained stutter Check requirements, update Windows, disable Steam overlay, lower graphics settings, retest Matches Frontier’s troubleshooting sequence

What the official specifications do—and do not—tell you

The minimum and recommended rows establish compatibility targets: 16 GB RAM, DirectX 12, and 25 GB storage are common to both, while the processor and graphics-card classes differ. They do not specify whether a minimum-tier PC will deliver 30 fps, whether a recommended-tier PC will hold 60 fps, or which individual effect consumes the most frame time on your particular system. Those outcomes depend on resolution, preset, drivers, park complexity, camera view, and simulation activity.

Use the specifications to choose your first preset, then use repeatable testing to choose your final one. This avoids two common mistakes: lowering every setting because a large park is CPU-limited, or selecting Ultra because a new park looks smooth while ignoring the workload that arrives after hours of expansion.
