There is no verified universal “best preset” for Blue Protocol: Star Resonance on PC yet. The current official storefront listings provide hardware requirements, but no tested resolution, graphics preset, frame-rate target, or controlled performance results. The safest route to smooth play is to verify your system against those requirements, start conservatively in the game’s current graphics menu, and change one option at a time while measuring your own system.

Use the Steam support listing and Epic Games Store listing for the platform-specific requirements before changing settings or buying hardware.

What is actually known about PC performance?

The available official information establishes a supported PC baseline, not an optimized graphics recipe. Neither storefront publishes the resolution, preset, frame rate, test scene, operating conditions, or measurement method behind its “recommended” tier. Therefore, an RTX 2060 or RX 5600 XT should be treated as a reference level for compatibility, not as a promise of 60 frames per second or any other result.

No authoritative current PC settings guide or patch note was found that documents the game’s graphics menu in enough detail to recommend a named combination of options. In particular, the available sources do not verify DLSS, FSR, XeSS, frame generation, or a specific frame-rate cap for the current PC version. Do not enable or troubleshoot those features on the assumption that they are present.

That limitation changes what “best settings” means. Instead of copying an unverified preset, use a repeatable adjustment process: establish whether your hardware is below, near, or above the published tiers; select the least demanding option that still looks acceptable to you; and test each change separately so you know which setting helped.

Check your hardware before adjusting graphics

Start by comparing your PC with the requirements published by the storefront where you install the game. Steam lists Windows 10 64-bit, DirectX 11, 16 GB of RAM, and the following processor and graphics tiers:

Tier Processor Graphics card Memory Operating system and API
Minimum Intel Core i7-8700 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB or AMD Radeon RX 580 16 GB RAM Windows 10 64-bit; DirectX 11
Recommended Intel Core i7-11700K or AMD Ryzen 7 5700X NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 or AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT 16 GB RAM Windows 10 64-bit; DirectX 11

These values come from Steam’s official support page. Epic’s listing displays the same CPU, GPU, memory, operating-system, and DirectX tiers. If your processor or graphics card is below the minimum tier, lowering visual options may not remove every hitch; the published baseline is a compatibility reference rather than a guarantee that every scene will run smoothly.

How to identify your PC’s parts

  1. In Windows, open Settings > System > About to see the processor and installed memory.
  2. Open Task Manager > Performance and select GPU to identify the graphics processor and its dedicated memory.
  3. Compare the exact model names, not just the brand or series. A card with a similar name can have a different memory configuration.
  4. Confirm that the game is using the intended dedicated GPU if your computer has both integrated and discrete graphics.

The requirement is 16 GB of RAM. That figure describes system memory, not graphics-card memory: the Steam minimum graphics tier specifically calls for a GTX 1060 with 6 GB or an RX 580, while the recommended tier names an RTX 2060 or RX 5600 XT.

  • AMD FreeSync reduces choppiness, screen lag and image tearing, ensuring that your fast-paced, complex in-game action is stable with minimal stutter
  • Ergonomic stand allows for tilt, pivot and height adjustments to maximize gaming comfort

Resolve the storefront storage discrepancy

The two official pages disagree about installation space. Steam lists 35 GB available storage, while the Epic Games Store page displays 16 GB or better. Because installation sizes can change with updates and the figures may reflect different listing revisions, check the current requirement on the platform you will use and leave additional free space for downloads and patching.

Storefront Published storage figure What to do
Steam 35 GB available storage Use the current Steam listing as the installation reference.
Epic Games Store 16 GB or better Use the current Epic listing and allow extra room for updates.

Do not silently combine the numbers into a single requirement. If the launcher refuses an installation because space is low, follow the launcher’s current value rather than an older screenshot or third-party system checker.

Why a “recommended” PC does not equal a guaranteed frame rate

Storefront requirement tiers answer whether a computer belongs to a supported class. They do not state which resolution or visual preset was used to create that tier. There is no official evidence connecting the recommended processor and graphics card to 1080p, 1440p, 60 FPS, a particular quality level, or a specific frame-time target.

Performance also varies by location, player density, effects, background applications, driver version, power mode, cooling, and the current game build. Without a published test procedure, two systems with the same named GPU can produce different results. Treat the recommended tier as a starting point for experimentation, not a performance contract.

A safe, repeatable way to find your settings

The following method does not assume that a particular upscaler, frame generator, or quality preset exists. It works with whatever options the current PC build exposes.

  1. Record a baseline. Launch the game with its initial graphics configuration. Note the display mode, resolution, visible quality options, and any frame-rate limit shown in the current menu. Play the same short route or activity for several minutes. Record whether the problem is a generally low frame rate, brief stutter, long pauses when entering an area, or input delay.
  2. Change one control only. Pick one available graphics option and lower it by one step, or reduce the output resolution if the menu offers that control. Apply the change, repeat the same route, and compare the result. Changing several controls together prevents you from knowing which one mattered.
  3. Keep a simple log. Write down the old value, new value, and what changed subjectively: steadier motion, fewer pauses, sharper image, or no visible difference. If the game exposes an in-game performance readout, use it consistently; otherwise compare the same scene and camera movement each time.
  4. Stop when the trade-off is no longer worthwhile. Keep the change only if it improves consistency without making the image unacceptable. A lower setting that produces no observable benefit should be restored before testing another option.
  5. Recheck after updates. A patch can alter rendering or add and remove menu options. Re-run the short baseline test after a major update instead of assuming yesterday’s result still applies.

If the menu offers resolution or render scale

Reducing the number of pixels the GPU must draw can improve workload on a graphics-limited system, but it also makes the image softer. Test a small step rather than immediately selecting the lowest value. Compare text, character outlines, and distant objects while moving; a setting that looks acceptable while standing still may appear too soft in motion.

If the menu offers a quality preset

Use the preset only as a starting point. Apply it, test the same route, and then adjust individual controls one at a time. A preset is not an official performance target, and the available evidence does not identify which internal options each preset changes.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

If the menu offers a frame-rate limit

Do not assume a particular cap is optimal. Test the limits that the current build actually lists and choose the one that produces the most consistent frame pacing on your monitor. If no limit is shown, do not install a utility or configuration tweak solely on the expectation that the game supports a hidden cap.

Troubleshoot by the symptom you observe

Low performance throughout the session

  • Confirm that the PC meets at least the published minimum CPU and GPU tiers and has 16 GB of RAM.
  • Lower one available quality control or resolution step, repeat your baseline route, and keep the change only if it helps.
  • If the graphics card is below the GTX 1060 6GB/RX 580 minimum class, regard hardware capability as the primary constraint rather than expecting a preset to create guaranteed smoothness.

Short stutters or hitching while average performance seems acceptable

  • Repeat the same route to determine whether the hitch occurs in a specific area or at random.
  • Change one menu option at a time and compare the exact trigger. Do not conclude that a setting is responsible after a single unrelated occurrence.
  • Re-test after the game or graphics driver changes, because a result from one build is not evidence for every later build.

Image quality is too soft after lowering settings

  • Restore the last change and test a less aggressive step.
  • Prefer the combination that keeps important outlines and text readable, even if it produces a slightly lower but steadier result.
  • Do not enable an upscaling technology unless the current in-game menu explicitly lists and documents it; its availability was not verified by the official listings used here.

Performance does not change after an adjustment

Restore that option and test a different one. The unchanged result may mean that the option is not the current bottleneck, that the scene is CPU-limited, or that the difference is too small to observe without a consistent test. The official requirements do not identify a guaranteed high-impact setting, so avoid presenting an unmeasured tweak as a universal fix.

How to use the hardware tiers when planning an upgrade

If your current GPU is below the published minimum, a graphics upgrade is a conditional compatibility decision, not a guarantee of a particular frame rate. The official listing supports the context for choosing a card that meets at least the minimum class; it does not establish that any modern model will deliver a specific preset or resolution.

If your system is around the recommended class, begin with the game’s own menu and measure before buying anything. The recommended CPU and GPU names indicate a higher reference tier than minimum, but the listings provide no test conditions or target FPS. An upgrade may still be unnecessary if your issue is caused by a single setting, a CPU-limited scene, or a software change.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

When comparing a potential replacement, check the complete configuration: processor model, graphics-card model and memory, 16 GB system RAM, Windows 10 64-bit support, and DirectX 11 compatibility. Match the current requirement on your installation platform and leave enough storage for the launcher’s download and future updates.

Features you should not assume are supported

The current official requirement pages do not confirm DLSS, AMD FSR, Intel XeSS, frame generation, a universal frame-rate cap, or a named “competitive” or “performance” preset. Guides that instruct you to toggle one of these without showing that it exists in your current menu are describing a different build, another game, or an unverified configuration.

Likewise, the requirement pages do not publish benchmark numbers. Claims such as “this card delivers 60 FPS,” “the recommended tier is for 1080p,” or “this option removes stutter” need a stated test method and current build; they cannot be inferred from the hardware list alone.

Quick checklist before you launch

  • Verify your CPU, GPU, GPU memory, and system RAM.
  • Compare them with the Steam or Epic requirement page for your installation platform.
  • Confirm Windows 10 64-bit and DirectX 11 support.
  • Check free storage against the platform’s current listing; Steam currently shows 35 GB, while Epic shows 16 GB or better.
  • Start with the current menu’s default or conservative values and record a repeatable baseline.
  • Change one graphics control at a time and test the same route.
  • Keep only changes that improve consistency on your own system.
  • Do not treat the recommended hardware tier as a 1080p/60 FPS promise.
  • Do not assume DLSS, FSR, XeSS, frame generation, or a particular cap is available.

Bottom line

The most defensible “best settings” advice for Blue Protocol: Star Resonance is a method, not a copied preset. Meet the published minimum where possible, use the recommended tier as a reference rather than a guarantee, verify storage on your own storefront, and tune the options currently shown in your game one at a time. Because no official settings guide or controlled benchmark establishes a universal combination, your repeatable test on the current build is the reliable authority for what is smooth on your PC.
