1. LSPDFR: turn Story Mode into police role-play
LSPDFR is the clearest choice when “change the whole game” means adopting a new identity and routine. Its PC-focused description presents it as a police modification that lets you go on patrol, respond to AI-generated callouts and play as a cop. The result is framed as a law-enforcement simulation rather than a cosmetic tweak.
What you actually do
- Start a patrol instead of simply wandering between the protagonists’ missions.
- Respond to AI callouts that give you incidents to investigate or resolve.
- Operate from the perspective of a police officer, changing the purpose of driving, approaching scenes and interacting with suspects.
That shift matters because it creates a repeatable activity loop: patrol, receive a call, travel to it, handle the incident and return to service. It is a better fit than a visual mod if the problem you are trying to solve is that free roam feels directionless or empty.
Who should choose it
Choose LSPDFR if you want a role with rules and responsibilities, not just more traffic or a prettier city. It is also the most demanding option conceptually: the base modification is part of a wider plugin ecosystem, and individual plugins may have their own compatibility requirements. The available description links to an Enhanced Edition preview, but that does not establish that every plugin in the ecosystem is currently ready for every Enhanced build. Confirm the live requirements for your exact edition before installing.
Framework and update reality
LSPDFR relies on RAGE Plugin Hook, and its update documentation explains that GTA V title updates can interrupt modding until tools and frameworks catch up. Depending on the update, RAGE Plugin Hook, Script Hook V, Community Script Hook V .NET or the mod itself may need a new release. LSPDFR’s documentation specifically notes that both RAGE Plugin Hook and LSPDFR updates can be required.

How the traffic loop works
According to the mod’s feature description, officers can observe your driving and detect traffic offenses. They can follow a vehicle, initiate a stop, approach on foot, inspect documents and issue either a warning or a citation. Those steps turn a drive across Los Santos into a sequence in which your behaviour has consequences.

Requirements to verify before downloading
The mod page lists a minimum game version of 1.0.3788.0. It also requires a compatible ScriptHookVDotNet 3 Nightly build, plus:
- Script Hook V
- SHVDN3 Nightly
- The SHVDN3 version of LemonUI
These names describe a dependency chain, not optional extras. A mismatched nightly build or the wrong LemonUI package can prevent the script from loading even when the mod’s own files are present.
Legacy and Enhanced are separate installation targets
The page states that Legacy and Enhanced use different APIs and require the correct package and dependencies for the edition you own. Do not combine Legacy files with Enhanced files, or copy a package intended for one API into the other installation. Before extracting anything, identify your GTA V edition, check the mod page’s current package, and match every dependency to that edition.

Scope and online warning
PullMeOverRemade is marked as Story Mode only and is not intended for GTA Online. Keep the modded installation away from online play. If you need to launch GTA Online, use an unmodded setup and follow Rockstar’s current guidance rather than relying on an older third-party installation article.

3. VisualV: make Los Santos feel like a different place
VisualV changes the game’s atmosphere rather than its job structure. Its mod page describes rewritten weather, increased visibility of lights, revised fog and clouds, higher-quality vehicle shadows and changes to colour treatment.
What changes on screen
- Weather: Weather presentation is rewritten, altering the mood and visual rhythm of free roam.
- Lighting: Lights are made more visible, changing how streets, vehicles and buildings read at night or in poor weather.
- Fog and clouds: Atmospheric layers are revised, affecting distance, sky detail and the sense of depth.
- Vehicle shadows: Vehicle shadow quality is increased as part of the environmental overhaul.
- Colour treatment: Colour changes alter the overall tone of the world instead of adding a new mechanic.
VisualV is therefore a good answer to “the city looks stale” or “I want a different atmosphere,” but not to “I need more things to do.” It does not turn you into a police officer, create traffic citations or supply a new mission loop.
Do not infer a performance benefit
A rendering change is not the same as an optimisation. The available description does not establish a performance improvement, and there is no verified benchmark here. Expect a visual change; assess performance on your own hardware after installation and keep a way to revert if frame pacing or stability becomes unacceptable.
Choose by the experience you want
If you want a new identity
Pick LSPDFR. It changes who you are in the world and gives free roam a patrol-and-callout structure. Allow extra time for framework compatibility and any plugins you add later.
If you want ordinary driving to matter
Pick PullMeOverRemade. It keeps the standard single-player world but adds observation, stops, document checks, warnings and citations. It is the most targeted option, so its result is a deeper driving system rather than a wholesale career conversion.
If you want a new mood

If you want more than one kind of change
Start with one major category and confirm that it works before adding another. LSPDFR and PullMeOverRemade both involve script frameworks, while VisualV changes world presentation. Combining mods can introduce conflicts, and the evidence available here does not establish a universally safe load order for every combination. Installation and update workflow for a safer setup
Exact files and paths vary by edition and project, but the process below reflects the common dependency and update issues documented for GTA V modding.
- Decide whether you are targeting Legacy or Enhanced. Record the edition before downloading anything. PullMeOverRemade explicitly distinguishes the APIs, and LSPDFR’s Enhanced support should be checked against the current live requirements.
- Back up the unmodified game. Keep a clean installation or a reliable way to restore original files. This gives you a recovery path when a title update or an incompatible package prevents the game from starting.
- Read the chosen mod’s current requirements. Confirm the supported game build, framework versions, edition-specific package and any additional plugins. Do not rely on an old general guide for a current compatibility decision.
- Install the required framework first. General PC installation guidance describes Script Hook files and related dependencies as downloaded files copied into the PC game directory. Use the exact locations and versions specified by the current project documentation rather than copying a different edition’s files.
- Install the mod package. Keep the files for one edition together and avoid mixing Legacy and Enhanced APIs. For PullMeOverRemade, verify Script Hook V, SHVDN3 Nightly and the SHVDN3 LemonUI package before launching.
- Launch Story Mode and test the smallest useful scenario. For LSPDFR, confirm that the police framework loads and that a patrol can start. For PullMeOverRemade, test a traffic stop. For VisualV, check weather, lights and shadows in several locations and times of day.
- Add optional plugins or additional visual changes one at a time. If a problem appears, the last change is easier to identify and remove.
- Keep the modded setup out of GTA Online. The installation guidance for these kinds of files is intended for single-player. Remove or disable the modded components before using online services, and consult Rockstar for current policy.
What to do after a GTA V title update
When the game updates, do not assume a previously working installation is still valid. LCPDFR’s documentation explains that title updates can make RAGE Plugin Hook, Script Hook V and Community Script Hook V .NET incompatible until their maintainers release matching versions. LSPDFR may then need its own update as well.
- Note the new game version shown by your launcher or installation.
- Check the current compatibility status of the framework your mod uses.
- Check the mod’s own page for a matching release or a temporary hold recommendation.
- Do not force-load old framework files simply because they worked before the update.
- Test in Story Mode before adding plugins or attempting any other launch mode.
An update can also expose stale files in an OpenIV mods-folder overlay. The documented community guidance warns that older files may remain after an update and cause conflicts; refreshing the files is recommended. Lenny’s Mod Loader is mentioned as an alternative where possible. The game will not start after installing a mod
- Confirm that every framework and mod package targets the same Legacy or Enhanced edition.
- Check whether GTA V updated since the last successful launch.
- Temporarily remove the newest mod or dependency and test the clean backup.
- Refresh stale files in an OpenIV mods-folder overlay if that is part of your setup.
The mod loads but its features do not appear
- Recheck the required framework version, especially the ScriptHookVDotNet 3 Nightly requirement for PullMeOverRemade.
- Verify that you installed the SHVDN3 version of LemonUI rather than a package for another API.
- For LSPDFR, confirm that both RAGE Plugin Hook and LSPDFR are updated for the installed game build.
- Test in Story Mode, where these projects are intended to run.
The game looks different but runs poorly
VisualV changes weather, lighting, fog, clouds, shadows and colour treatment, but the available description does not promise a performance gain. If performance is worse, compare the unmodded backup, remove the visual overhaul and check the project’s current installation guidance. Do not treat a visual overhaul as an optimisation package.

Do not launch GTA Online from the modded installation. PullMeOverRemade is explicitly Story Mode only, and the general installation guidance warns readers to keep mods out of GTA Online. For current account and policy questions, consult Rockstar directly.
