There are no verified “best” Jiaohun settings yet. 12AM BLACKOUT lists JIAOHUN as planned for 2027, and the game is not currently available. That means the launch menu, default field of view (FOV), motion-blur behavior, camera-shake controls, and measured frame rates cannot be confirmed. You can still prepare a sensible setup: meet the published PC tier, prioritize consistent frame pacing, disable or reduce movement effects when the game exposes them, and widen FOV gradually until first-person movement feels comfortable.
The developer describes JIAOHUN as “a cinematic first-person psychological horror game.” Its official Steam page is the authority for the current requirements and release status: Steam store listing.

What settings can you actually use today?
JIAOHUN has no public launch build, graphics-menu screenshots, independent benchmarks, final PC patch notes, or named motion-sickness preset. Any page claiming a tested JIAOHUN FOV number, a confirmed motion-blur default, or a guaranteed FPS target is going beyond the available evidence.
Use the recommendations below as a launch-day framework rather than a list of confirmed menu values. When the game ships, verify every option in the in-game menu and adjust one setting at a time. A stable, comfortable image is more useful than copying a preset designed for a different monitor, GPU, or sensitivity to motion.

Official PC requirements
Steam lists two hardware tiers. They are developer-published requirements, not independent performance tests, and they do not promise a particular resolution or frame rate.
| Tier | Operating system | Processor | Memory | Graphics card | API | Storage |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Minimum | Windows 10 version 1809 | Intel Core i5-9400 | 16 GB | GeForce GTX 1060 3 GB or Radeon RX 580 4 GB | DirectX 12 | 10 GB available |
| Recommended | Windows 10 version 1809 | Intel Core i7-11700KF or AMD Ryzen 7 5800X | 32 GB | GeForce RTX 4070 12 GB | DirectX 12 | 20 GB |
The minimum tier is the baseline for launching once the game is released; it is not evidence that every scene will run smoothly at high settings. The recommended tier is the strongest published target and includes an RTX 4070 with 12 GB of VRAM, 32 GB of system memory, and either of the listed eight-core-class processors. The 10 GB and 20 GB figures are available-storage requirements, so leave additional free space for the operating system, shader caches, and future updates.
Build a stable baseline before changing image quality
1. Confirm the platform and drivers
Use a 64-bit Windows installation that meets the listing’s Windows 10 version 1809 requirement or a compatible newer Windows release, install current graphics drivers, and make sure DirectX 12 is available. Update before launch rather than troubleshooting an old driver after the first crash or stutter.

2. Start with a frame-rate cap you can hold
Frame pacing is the first performance setting to tune. Select the highest cap your system can sustain consistently in a representative area, not the highest number it reaches for a few seconds. A steady lower cap usually feels better than a high cap that repeatedly falls and recovers. The final game may expose an in-game limiter; if it does not, use your GPU driver or display software.
3. Test with one repeatable route
On the first launch, walk through the same short section several times while watching for hitching, camera judder, and delayed input. Change one option, repeat the route, and keep notes. This separates a real improvement from a scene that simply loaded fewer effects on one pass. No public JIAOHUN benchmark exists, so your own repeatable route will be more informative than an unsupported FPS claim.
4. Reduce expensive effects before sacrificing readability
If performance is poor, lower resolution scale or other GPU-heavy effects before making text, environmental edges, or interactive objects hard to read. Textures and geometry often contribute more to navigation and recognition than blur-like post-processing. The exact names and order of these controls are unknown until the menu is published; treat “resolution scale,” shadows, volumetric effects, reflections, and post-processing as likely candidates, not confirmed JIAOHUN labels.

Visibility settings for a dark horror game
Visibility in a psychological horror game is a balance, not a race to make every corner bright. Excessive brightness can flatten contrast and weaken the intended atmosphere, while an overly dark image can hide stairs, doors, and interactable objects.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Set brightness or gamma by detail, not by a fixed number
Adjust the display control only until you can distinguish environmental detail in a dark scene without turning black areas gray. There is no verified optimal JIAOHUN brightness or gamma value. Your monitor’s backlight, room lighting, HDR mode, and viewing distance change the result, so a number copied from another player would not be universal.
Protect clarity when lowering performance options
- Keep texture and geometry detail high enough that doors, props, and surfaces remain identifiable.
- Reduce effects that add cost without improving navigation, such as demanding shadows, volumetrics, or reflections, if those controls appear in the launch build.
- Check that temporal upscaling or sharpening does not create shimmering, ghosting, or unreadable fine detail before keeping it enabled.
- Compare a setting in motion and while turning, not only from a still screenshot.
Because the game’s visual identity is cinematic, compare every change on two axes: clarity versus cinematic intent, and image quality versus frame stability. Keep an effect when it materially improves the scene and your frame pacing can sustain it; reduce it when it mainly adds cost or visual smear.

Motion-sickness settings to try at launch
Motion sickness is individual, and no source confirms which comfort controls JIAOHUN will ship. The following changes may help some players; they are not a guaranteed cure.
Disable motion blur
Turn motion blur off if the menu provides a toggle. Blur applied during camera movement can make the image feel less stable, particularly when combined with low or fluctuating frame rates. If the game offers separate weapon, camera, or per-object blur controls, disable the camera-related option first and compare.
Recommended Free Tools
Lower camera shake
Set camera shake to Low or Off where available. Horror games often use impact, sprint, or scripted shake for dramatic effect, but involuntary movement can be uncomfortable. If there are separate sliders, reduce gameplay shake before disabling carefully authored cinematic moments.

Reduce or disable head bob
Choose Low or Off for head bob if that control exists. Walking-induced vertical movement is a common trigger for sensitive players. Test normal walking and sprinting separately because a setting may affect them differently.
Widen FOV gradually
A narrow FOV can make forward movement feel constricted, while an excessively wide FOV can introduce edge distortion and make turning feel faster. JIAOHUN has no verified FOV number, so do not treat 90, 100, or 110 degrees as official recommendations. Increase the slider in small steps, walk and turn for several minutes, and stop at the first value that feels comfortable and keeps objects natural on your display. Monitor size, aspect ratio, seating distance, and personal tolerance all matter.
Keep frame delivery even
Stutter and uneven frame times can aggravate discomfort even when an FPS counter looks high. Use a cap your system can hold, close unnecessary background workloads, and prefer a consistent presentation over a short-lived peak. If a cap produces repeated hitching, test a lower cap rather than raising visual settings back and forth.
Quick wins for a faster PC:
Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Make the room and session comfortable
- Avoid playing in a pitch-dark room with a very bright display; a modest ambient light can reduce harsh contrast.
- Use short test sessions when trying a new FOV or camera setting.
- Stop as soon as symptoms build instead of trying to push through them.
- If symptoms persist outside play or keep returning, stop playing and seek appropriate medical advice.
A launch-day setup sequence
- Record the starting state. Note the game’s default resolution, refresh rate, FOV, blur, shake, bob, brightness, and frame-rate cap if those options are present.
- Choose a display mode. Start with the monitor’s native resolution and a stable refresh rate. Change only one variable if you need to troubleshoot.
- Set a sustainable cap. Walk through a demanding area and select the highest cap that remains consistent rather than chasing a brief maximum.
- Turn off motion blur. Re-test movement and camera turns.
- Lower camera shake and head bob. Use Low or Off, then test walking, sprinting, impacts, and scripted sequences.
- Adjust FOV in small increments. Keep the first value that feels natural without obvious edge distortion or discomfort.
- Calibrate brightness. Raise it only enough to reveal necessary environmental detail while preserving contrast.
- Tune performance effects. If frames remain unstable, reduce resolution scale and expensive effects before reducing texture or geometry readability.
- Play a short session. Comfort can change after several minutes, so judge the setup over a short session rather than a single camera turn.
What to do when performance or comfort is poor
Low FPS or frequent drops
- Verify that the system meets at least the listed processor, memory, and GPU baseline.
- Check that the game is using the intended graphics processor on systems with integrated and discrete GPUs.
- Lower resolution scale and heavy effects first, then re-test the same route.
- Use a lower frame-rate cap if the higher cap oscillates.
- Close background recording, browser, and overlay workloads while diagnosing stutter.
Image looks smeared or shimmers
- Disable motion blur.
- Compare any upscaling mode at native resolution and at a lower scale.
- Reduce sharpening if fine edges ring; increase it only enough to restore legibility.
- Check that the display is running at its native resolution and correct refresh rate.
Turning feels sickening
- Reduce or disable camera shake and head bob.
- Widen FOV gradually rather than jumping to an extreme value.
- Use a stable frame cap and test shorter sessions.
- Stop playing if symptoms worsen; settings cannot guarantee prevention.
Dark areas hide important objects
- Raise brightness or gamma in small steps.
- Increase clarity-oriented settings before brightening the entire image.
- Check the monitor’s own black-level, HDR, and contrast modes, since they can change the result independently of the game.
What the published requirements do—and do not—tell you
The minimum GTX 1060 3 GB or RX 580 4 GB requirement indicates the class of hardware the developer intends to support, but it does not establish a target such as 60 FPS. Likewise, the recommended RTX 4070 12 GB, 32 GB of RAM, and listed processors identify the developer’s recommended tier; they are not a measured benchmark at a named resolution, preset, or ray-tracing mode. Until a release build and tests are available, treat both tiers as compatibility guidance rather than performance guarantees.
When to revisit your settings
Recheck the configuration after launch patches, driver updates, or a change of monitor. A patch can alter shader compilation, frame pacing, or the available comfort controls. Keep a short note of the values that worked so you can restore them after an update. If the shipped menu lacks one of the controls above, do not force a substitute through unsupported configuration edits; use the options the game and your display officially expose.
Bottom line for pre-release players
JIAOHUN’s exact best PC settings cannot be verified before its planned 2027 release. Prepare around the official hardware tiers, make frame pacing your first performance goal, preserve texture and geometry clarity, and disable motion blur, camera shake, and head bob if the launch build provides them. Widen FOV slowly and judge brightness by readable detail, not by a copied number. These steps give you a careful starting point without pretending that unmeasured JIAOHUN settings or FPS results already exist.
