Build Joker as a Curse-focused multi-target Sweeper: use the Hindrance Revelation set, prioritize Damage Mult. / Crit Rate / Attack as his Moon / Star / Sky main stats, and favor Crit Rate and Pierce Rate substats. In combat, use Skill 1 to build Will of Rebellion, then spend three stacks on Skill 3. This is a documented baseline, not a verified best-in-slot build for every October 2026 server, patch, encounter, or Awareness level.
What is Joker’s role?
The official Ren Amamiya announcement describes the five-star Phantom Thief as specializing in multi-target attacks. Prydwen classifies him as a Curse Sweeper associated with Arsène. His strongest natural fit is therefore encounters with several enemies, where his damage and Will of Rebellion mechanic can work together.

Prydwen says its character information has been translated from Chinese and is subject to official-translation updates, so treat the figures as database values rather than independently tested results or guaranteed values for every regional client. How does Will of Rebellion and Joker’s Extra Action work?
At Awareness 0, Joker can gain Will of Rebellion from certain attacks and when enemies meet an HP threshold at the end of his action. The cited guide says he gains one stack for each enemy below 60% HP, up to five; the HP-threshold gain can occur only once per enemy per battle. Three stacks trigger an Extra Action, and Joker spends three stacks at the end of that action.

This makes the loop more dependable in multi-enemy stages than against a lone high-HP boss: several enemies can cross the threshold, while a single target offers fewer opportunities to build stacks. Prydwen recommends using Skill 1 until Joker has three stacks, then using Skill 3.

Which Revelation cards and stats should you use?
Hindrance set
Prydwen recommends Hindrance and lists a two-piece bonus of 10% Curse damage and a four-piece bonus of 20% more Curse damage against debuffed foes. Arsène’s Chains benefits from debuffed targets too, making the four-piece effect consistent with Joker’s Curse-focused damage plan.
Departure option
The guide also shows a suggested Departure setup with Control, Prosperity, and Hindrance effects. It does not fully explain how that option should be reconciled with its Hindrance-set recommendation for every account. Treat both as guide-listed options rather than assuming one card configuration is universally best.

For substats, Prydwen’s priority is Crit Rate = Pierce Rate > Critical Mult. In practical terms, pursue Crit Rate and Pierce Rate before Critical Mult. when comparing otherwise suitable pieces.

Which skills should you level first?
Prydwen’s recommended order is:
- Skill 3
- Skill 1
- Thief Tactics
- Skill 2
This is the guide’s investment recommendation, not a result of independently tested damage comparisons. It prioritizes the main spender in Joker’s Extra Action loop, then the skill that builds stacks.
Are Joker’s Awareness upgrades worth pursuing?
Prydwen ranks Awareness investment A4 > A6 > A2 > A1 and identifies A4 as the key breakpoint: it improves Joker’s ability to function without enemy waves. At A0, his Extra Action loop is more dependent on favorable fights with multiple enemies crossing the HP threshold. The guide cautions that using him outside those favorable stages takes substantial Awareness investment.
Use that ranking as a spending framework, not a guarantee that any duplicate is worthwhile for your account. If you mainly use Joker in mob-heavy content, his baseline mechanic has more opportunities to work; if you want him to perform reliably without waves, the guide’s A4 breakpoint is the most relevant target.
Is Phoenix Dagger worth using?
Prydwen lists the four-star Machete and five-star Phoenix Dagger as Ren-exclusive in-game weapons. It describes Phoenix Dagger as giving Attack and Curse-damage bonuses tied to Will of Rebellion stacks, but does not recommend it automatically for A0 Joker. Treat it as an option to assess against your Awareness, available gear, and resources—not as a mandatory pull.

Official notices have documented Phoenix Dagger in time-limited contract lineups, but past listings do not establish current availability in your region. The SEA notice dated June 25, 2026 offered selections including Ren and Phoenix Dagger for 30 days from a player’s next login after June maintenance; that window had passed by October 2026. A separate official Ren announcement also documents a bounded contract period and says future availability could come through other opportunities. Check the in-game contract screen for your server rather than assuming either item is currently obtainable.

For Wonder Personas, the guide names Alice for Curse damage taken, Dionysus for critical stats, Surt for defense reduction, and Dominion for Attack or damage support. These are possible support choices from one guide, not a definitive current team ranking.
How current are these recommendations?
Joker’s performance depends on server, patch, encounter type, and Awareness. Prydwen displays different ratings for global and CN and notes that his CN performance can be limited outside mob-heavy or specifically favorable environments. Its detailed data is translated from Chinese, so English-client players should regard the recommendations as a useful baseline rather than proof of the current global best-in-slot setup.
The official Persona 5: The Phantom X site describes the game as arriving on PC and mobile. For current character or weapon acquisition, use the contract screen in your own regional client; the cited event notices only establish availability during their stated periods.
