Start with the mission objective and your squad role, then choose equipment to suit the expected sightlines and approach. The templates below are practical starting points, not tested or objectively ranked builds. They reflect VOID Interactive’s development briefing dated July 30, 2026; the game continues to receive updates, so check the current official changelog for live availability and changes.
How to choose a loadout
Ready or Not is a tactical first-person shooter about SWAT units responding to dangerous situations, so a loadout makes most sense in relation to the objective and the job you need to do for the team. VOID Interactive’s July 30, 2026 development briefing identifies weapons, equipment, and attachments as options, but does not provide a complete current weapon or armor stat table or controlled comparisons.
- Objective and use of force: Decide whether the mission and team plan call for an armed response, restraint-focused control, or a mix of roles.
- Expected sightlines: Choose an optic magnification to match the spaces you expect to cover. The briefing says relevant optics can switch between 1x and 4x; it does not establish a universal best setting.
- Attachment needs: Consider whether illumination or another rail-mounted option suits the mission. The briefing describes equipping and alternating multiple rail attachments, including a flashlight and red laser.
- Squad role: Decide who provides general coverage, who focuses on restraint, and whether the plan calls for a designated shield carrier.
- Current availability: Confirm the selected items are available in your game version and under the mission’s rules.
Role-based loadout starting points
General armed-response setup
Choose a primary weapon you are comfortable using, then pair it with an optic suited to expected sightlines. Select a flashlight, red laser, or other available rail attachment according to the mission and your preference. Choose armor and ammunition to fit the mission and squad plan rather than assuming one combination is best for every callout.
The 2026 briefing lists the RTWC-6.5 battle rifle and the G18-C and S2011 pistols among its additions. Their inclusion does not establish that any of them outperforms other choices. Treat the primary weapon as a familiar starting point, not a ranking.

- The Weight of the Badge: Shoulder the weight of being a SWAT commander entrusted with confronting Los Sueňos’ criminal corruption and stopping it from overwhelming the city’s citizens. Every tactical decision matters, every outcome is yours to bear.
- True Tactical Gameplay: Ready or Not is a true tactical shooter. Every mission is a high-stakes, life-or-death operation. Strategically forge your squad of elite SWAT officers, equip them with the right weapons and gear for the mission, position your team to tactically breach criminal strongholds and quickly identify and neutralize threats in tense, life threatening scenarios.
- Your Mission is the Story: Ready or Not confronts you with a raw, unflinching mirror of real-world crime, exposing the horrors of human trafficking, drug running, illegal arms dealing, militant extremism, and terrorism through interwoven storylines that span multiple missions.
- Cross-Comradery: Team up with friends to stem the tide of crime infesting the city. Enhanced with crossplay, Ready or Not supports up to five players in a co-operative tactical experience on all platforms. Communicate effectively to increase your tactical precision, watch your squad’s back, and successfully complete your mission.
Less-lethal, restraint-focused setup
Build around a less-lethal option when the objective and mission rules favor arrest and control. Make sure the rest of the team can provide lethal coverage if the situation requires it; this is a squad-planning recommendation, not a claim about measured effectiveness.
The briefing lists a 9-Bang less-lethal grenade, but does not specify a complete less-lethal weapon build or compare its effectiveness with other equipment. Verify the items available for your mission before committing the team to this role.

Designated shield-entry setup
Assign a shield to a specific teammate when the squad’s approach calls for one, and plan that player’s sidearm and team coverage around the role. VOID Interactive’s update information says shields now block some melee damage, but does not quantify the protection or establish that carrying one is right for every mission.
Solo play
When playing solo, you have to cover more roles yourself. Favor a flexible setup that fits the mission, and use AI teammates and their orders as the game permits. This is tactical guidance rather than a tested solo build; the available sources do not document solo-specific loadout performance.

What the 2026 update information establishes
VOID Interactive’s July 30, 2026 development briefing documents additions and changes relevant to loadout choices: the RTWC-6.5 battle rifle, G18-C and S2011 pistols, a 9-Bang less-lethal grenade, optics with 1x and 4x magnification, multiple rail attachments that can be alternated, and shields that block some melee damage. These details support choosing gear by sightline and role; they do not establish a current, complete comparison of weapon, armor, or attachment performance.
Because development briefings describe development context rather than guaranteeing every detail of current live behavior, use the official Ready or Not changelog to verify patch-specific availability and changes before relying on an item. No damage, penetration, recoil, armor-protection, or win-rate figures are established here, so none should be used to declare a categorical best weapon or setup.
