Best overall for keeping a prerecorded YouTube stream running: StreamNeo, which loops uploaded videos from the cloud without leaving a computer on. It is not a VPS and does not stream from a live camera. If you specifically need a VPS: Inservers IN-BASIC is the most directly relevant listed option for relaying an already-encoded stream; DuckCloud Linux VPS L2 has the lowest listed monthly equivalent, but requires an annual term and its price excludes GST. These are provider listings, not independently tested recommendations for uninterrupted church broadcasting.
Which option fits a church’s 24/7 stream?
| Rank | Option | Listed price and configuration | Best fit | Important qualification |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | StreamNeo (cloud streaming service, not a VPS) | One slot includes an always-on YouTube stream, 10 GB storage pooled across active slots, looping and playlists, and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. Uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps. | A church that wants uploaded recordings to loop on YouTube without maintaining a server or home computer. | It plays uploaded videos, not a live camera feed, and streams to YouTube only. One flat price per slot regardless of quality; first day free, no card. |
| 2 | Inservers IN-BASIC (VPS) | ₹880/month; 2 vCores, 4 GB DDR4, 40 GB NVMe SSD, 1-Gbps unmetered uplink. | A Linux relay that forwards a stream encoded elsewhere. Inservers says the plan suits one 1080p60 relay without transcoding. | The relay suitability is the provider’s guidance, not an independent test. Confirm fair-use terms, routing, and SLA details. |
| 3 | DuckCloud Linux VPS L2 (VPS) | ₹549/month on a one-year term; 2 vCPU, 4 GB RAM, 80 GB SSD, claimed unlimited bandwidth. Prices exclude GST. | A lower-priced general Linux VPS to evaluate for relaying an already-encoded stream. | It is not specifically marketed for streaming. Check the full cost, traffic rules, and the written SLA; the provider’s 99.9% figure is not an independent measurement. |
| 4 | NivoHost RDP 1 (Windows RDP) | ₹699/month listed; 2 CPU cores, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB SSD, 20 TB bandwidth, 1-Gbps port. Plan label: 360p at 10 fps. | A Windows remote-desktop workflow, if Windows or the provider’s workflow is specifically needed. | The plan’s listed 360p/10 fps may not suit a service where lyrics, scripture, or a clear pulpit view matter. Its 99% uptime is a provider claim. Verify renewal price and limits. |
| 5 | RupeeCloud Nano (VPS) | Starting ₹949/month plus GST; 2 vCores, 4 GB RAM, 40 GB NVMe, 1-Gbps port as listed. | An India-billed unmanaged option where root access is important. | The provider says software installation, OS security patches, and configuration are the customer’s responsibility. Streaming suitability is not established by the listing. |
Provider specifications and prices above are published listing details, not comparative stream trials. Availability percentages, bandwidth labels, and throughput claims do not establish that a particular church’s continuous stream will remain stable.
Decide whether the VPS will relay or encode
Relaying an already-encoded stream
A relay forwards video that has already been encoded on another device. This is generally a lighter VPS workload than encoding or transcoding, but it still depends on sustained outbound capacity, routing to YouTube’s ingest, and the provider’s traffic policy. Inservers describes IN-BASIC as suitable for one 1080p60 relay without transcoding; treat that as vendor guidance and verify it with a rehearsal.
Encoding or transcoding on the VPS
Encoding converts a source into the stream sent to YouTube; transcoding creates another video format or quality. These workloads need more CPU than simply forwarding an encoded feed. Inservers recommends higher tiers for transcoding, but the listing does not establish a tested CPU requirement for your service. If your setup must encode on the server, ask the provider what sustained CPU capacity and support it guarantees, then test the actual resolution, frame rate, and audio-video movement before relying on it.

Choose a stream quality the connection can sustain
YouTube’s current help guidance recommends choosing a quality that is reliable on the available connection, running a speed test and a pre-stream test with similar audio and movement, and monitoring stream health. YouTube automatically transcodes a live stream into output formats for viewers; sending a higher-bitrate source is not a guarantee that every viewer will receive that quality.
| H.264 output | YouTube-recommended bitrate |
|---|---|
| 720p at 30 or 60 fps | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p at 30 fps | 14 Mbps |
| 1080p at 60 fps | 17 Mbps |
These are YouTube’s published H.264 recommendations on the help page accessed in 2026, not a guarantee of VPS performance. YouTube also recommends RTMPS, CBR bitrate encoding, and a 2-second keyframe interval (not above 4 seconds). Leave headroom on the sending connection rather than planning around a speed-test result equal to the stream bitrate.

Check the full cost and operating terms before buying
- Calculate the checkout total: DuckCloud’s quoted price is for a one-year term and excludes GST; RupeeCloud states its starting price is plus GST. Confirm taxes, renewal price, billing period, and cancellation terms for every candidate.
- Get bandwidth terms in writing: Ask what “unmetered” or “unlimited” means, whether there is a monthly transfer cap, fair-use threshold, traffic shaping, or overage charge, and whether the listed port speed is burst or sustained.
- Check location and routing: Ask where the VPS will run and how the route to YouTube ingest performs from the church’s actual network and target ingest region. A 1-Gbps port claim alone does not prove sustained throughput or good peering.
- Read the SLA: Confirm exclusions, remedies or credits, maintenance treatment, and whether the stated availability figure is contractual. Provider-reported percentages are claims, not independently measured reliability.
- Clarify support and recovery: Determine who monitors the process, restarts it after a crash or reboot, and handles OS or streaming-software issues. An unmanaged VPS such as RupeeCloud Nano leaves installation, security patching, and OS configuration to the customer.
- Confirm continuous-stream permission: Ask whether the account and plan permit the intended ongoing broadcast and whether any traffic, process, or session limits apply.
Set up and rehearse a VPS relay before relying on it
- Define the workload: Decide whether the VPS only relays a stream encoded elsewhere or must encode/transcode. Write down the intended resolution, frame rate, audio, destination, and number of simultaneous destinations.
- Choose the plan and operating system: Match the plan to that workload and the software you intend to use. For a relay, do not pay for transcoding capacity you do not need; for server-side encoding, do not assume a small relay recommendation is enough.
- Secure and configure the server: Apply OS updates, restrict administrative access, and install only the streaming or relay software required by your chosen workflow. The exact software commands and configuration depend on the operating system and encoder; the providers’ listings do not specify a universal setup.
- Configure YouTube ingest: In YouTube’s live control room, create or select the intended stream and use its stream key in the encoder or relay destination settings. Keep the key private; anyone who obtains it may be able to send video to that stream. Prefer RTMPS where supported.
- Set and verify encoder output: For H.264, use CBR and a 2-second keyframe interval, not exceeding 4 seconds. Use YouTube’s recommended bitrate for the chosen output as a starting point, then check stream health rather than assuming the target is sustainable.
- Run a realistic private or unlisted rehearsal: Test with the same audio, movement, resolution, and frame rate as a service. Confirm picture, sound, synchronization, ingest health, and whether the VPS sustains the stream under the provider’s stated traffic policy.
- Test recovery deliberately: Rehearse what happens after the encoder or relay process stops, the VPS reboots, or the connection to YouTube drops. Verify restart behavior and that the correct stream key and output settings survive a restart. Do not treat “24/7” plan marketing as proof a single YouTube session is indefinite or interruption-proof.
- Monitor when live: Check YouTube stream health and the relay or encoder process, and arrange an alert or human check appropriate to the service. YouTube recommends monitoring stream health; no provider in this comparison has an independently verified continuous-stream result here.
NivoHost says its automation can restart a stream and its FAQ claims a YouTube session limit of up to 12 hours. That session-limit statement is not confirmed here against YouTube’s official guidance, so do not use it as the platform’s rule. Verify current behavior in YouTube’s help material and test reconnects before an unattended broadcast.
Common problems and what to check
- Stream health warnings or dropped frames: Check sustained upload throughput, route quality, bitrate headroom, VPS CPU use if encoding, and provider traffic policies. Repeat the pre-stream test from the real source and destination configuration.
- Video is soft or text is hard to read: Check the source resolution and frame rate, encoder output, and whether a low-quality plan cap applies. NivoHost RDP 1 is labeled 360p at 10 fps; that may be a poor fit for readable lyrics or scripture.
- Audio is missing or out of sync: Test with the actual microphones, mixer, and movement used in the service. Check audio selection and synchronization in the encoder; a static test image alone will not expose all live-service problems.
- The stream stops after a reboot or disconnect: Check whether the relay or encoder is configured to start again, whether the stream key remains configured, and whether YouTube accepts the reconnect. Test the recovery path rather than relying on an uptime claim.
- Unexpected bandwidth limits or charges: Compare actual usage with the written transfer allowance, fair-use terms, and overage policy. “Unmetered” or “unlimited” in a headline does not by itself document those details.
- VPS cannot sustain the chosen quality: Reduce output quality to a level the connection and server can sustain, or move encoding off the VPS if it is CPU-bound. Run another representative rehearsal before the next service.
Or let it run in the cloud
If your church wants prerecorded services, sermons, or music to loop on YouTube rather than a camera feed to go live, StreamNeo avoids maintaining a VPS or leaving a computer on at home.

A VPS or cloud looping service does not grant rights to broadcast the material. Before looping worship recordings, songs, sermon clips, or other third-party material, confirm that your church has the necessary rights for YouTube livestreaming. YouTube’s copyright and monetization decisions are separate from whether the stream technically stays online. A continuously repeated recording should also be meaningfully authorized and appropriate for the channel; automation is not a workaround for copyright rules or YouTube policies.
