The best Quest 3S accessory depends on what you want to improve: choose a strap for fit and balance, a battery solution for longer sessions, and a case that fits the strap you actually use. Compatibility is not automatic: Meta says only some Quest 3 accessories work with Quest 3S. Check the exact model before buying, especially for older or third-party accessories.
Check compatibility before choosing accessories
Meta’s compatibility list is the safest starting point. It names the Quest 3 Elite Strap, Elite Strap with Battery, carrying cases, Link cable, controller charging dock, and Active Straps as examples of Quest 3 accessories compatible with Quest 3S. Meta explicitly says this applies to some, not all, Quest 3 accessories. Quest 3S also has its own Breathable Facial Interface. Meta’s announcement does not approve every third-party product or every item marketed simply as “for Quest.”
Compatibility can differ even between headsets in the same product family. Android Central reports that Quest 3 facial interfaces, prescription lenses, and full-size charging docks do not work with Quest 3S; its discussion of transferring Quest 2 accessories includes exceptions. Check the manufacturer’s exact model listing for any Quest 2 or third-party accessory rather than assuming it will fit.
Choose a strap for fit, balance, or runtime
A strap can change how pressure is distributed and how securely the headset sits, but comfort is personal: head shape, hair, adjustment, and tolerance for weight all matter. If the standard strap already suits you, a non-battery comfort or Elite-style strap may be enough. Compare adjustment range and where the strap supports the head, and make sure the design suits your preferred case.

For extra runtime: built-in battery strap
Meta’s Elite Strap with Battery is listed as compatible with Quest 3S. Meta says its battery provides up to two additional hours of use; that is a vendor claim, not a guaranteed result for every player or game. The battery stays attached to the strap, which avoids carrying a separate power bank but adds weight to the head-mounted setup. Check the current Meta product listing for model and availability details.
For fit choices: third-party straps
UploadVR discusses KIWI Design K4 Boost and H4 Boost and BOBOVR M3 Pro among its Quest strap options. Its article distinguishes products it has reviewed from those it has not tried, so treat any comfort observations as UploadVR’s experience rather than a universal result or our own test. Review its comparisons, then confirm that the exact SKU is currently specified for Quest 3S before ordering.

Choose a Quest 3S case after the strap
The strap determines which case will fit. Meta’s full-size carrying case is the safer choice if you use a standard or Elite strap or want space for accessories. Its listing describes room for a Quest 3 or Quest 3S headset, Touch Plus controllers, charging cable and adapter, and standard or Elite straps. Listed dimensions are 328 × 242 × 128 mm and listed weight is 670 g. See the full-size case specifications.
The compact case takes up less space but has a decisive limitation: it is not suitable for Elite straps. PB Tech lists dimensions of 263 × 223 × 115 mm and weight of 456 g. Check the compact-case listing if your setup uses the standard soft strap.

A battery strap keeps its power source on your head; an external USB-C power bank lets you carry that weight elsewhere, such as in a pocket or bag. Neither arrangement is best for everyone. Think about total load, balance, strap adjustment, cable routing, and whether the battery’s placement will bother you during play—not just its stated capacity.

UploadVR covers external batteries and wearable power options in its accessory guide, but the charging advice on that page concerns Quest 3. Do not assume its output guidance applies to every Quest 3S and battery combination: check the requirements for the exact headset, power bank, and cable setup. Capacity alone cannot establish a fixed increase in play time; runtime varies with the device’s power draw and use conditions.

A practical buying order
- Decide what needs improving. Choose fit and balance, longer play, or travel protection before comparing products.
- Verify exact compatibility. Check that the listing names Quest 3S, especially for third-party straps and any older accessory.
- Choose the strap first. Consider adjustment, pressure distribution, total weight, battery placement, and cable management.
- Match the case to the strap. A standard or Elite strap fits the full-size case; the compact case is not suitable for Elite straps.
- Recheck current product details. Confirm the SKU, fit notes, stock, and any changing price on the manufacturer or retailer listing.
