There are seven enchantments the official Minecraft overview identifies as applicable to a trident—not ten. The best setup depends on whether you want to move through water, throw the weapon and have it return, deal extra damage in wet conditions, or use it during a thunderstorm. You get a trident from drowned, but both trident-carrying drowned and their drops are uncommon.
What are the best trident enchantments?
Choose enchantments for the way you use the weapon rather than chasing a single universal “best” build. The trident can be swung or thrown, and its distinctive enchantments support different situations. - Wet-condition damage: choose Impaling for the conditions described by your edition.
- Durability: consider Unbreaking and Mending for reducing wear and repairing the item.

How do you get a trident in Minecraft?
Defeat drowned: they are the source of tridents. Only a few drowned carry one, and only a few of those drop it, so finding a carrier does not guarantee a trident. (Minecraft: Taking Inventory: Trident)
Minecraft’s Bedrock-focused farm article gives an approximate rate of one trident per 188 drowned. Treat that as the article’s estimate for its Bedrock context, not a guaranteed drop rate or a universal statistic across editions and versions. How do you enchant a trident?
Microsoft Learn’s Bedrock enchantment guide describes three routes: use an enchanting table, combine the trident with an enchanted book at an anvil, or buy an enchanted book from a librarian villager. What changes by edition?
Impaling is the main point to check. Minecraft’s overview describes increased damage to aquatic mobs or regular mobs in wet conditions. The Bedrock documentation is more specific: it says water or rain. Those descriptions do not, by themselves, settle the exact behavior in every Java release.
