Boltcaster: baseline combat option
The Boltcaster was the existing Multi-Tool combat weapon when the Scatter Blaster, Pulse Spitter, and Blaze Javelin were introduced. Sentinel update notes record historical increases to projectile speed and burst capacity, but those notes do not establish a current numerical advantage over other weapons. Does Multi-Tool class or type change the ranking?
Class and tool specialization are separate from the weapon-role ranking. Hello Games’ Pathfinder page describes C, B, A, and S class ratings, and broad tendencies among tool types: pistols emphasize mining, rifles combat, and experimental tools scanning. Alien tools are described as rare and powerful. Where to find a Sentinel Multi-Tool
