For a mostly static Hindi sleep-music stream, start with OBS at 1080p30, H.264, CBR at 10 Mbps, a 2-second keyframe interval, and stereo AAC at 128 kbps and 44.1 kHz. YouTube lists 5 Mbps as the minimum for H.264 1080p30; if your upload connection cannot sustain 10 Mbps reliably, use 720p30 at 6 Mbps instead (YouTube lists 3 Mbps as its minimum for that profile). These are encoder recommendations, not a promise of uninterrupted broadcasting or a particular viewer-side quality.
Recommended OBS settings for a 24/7 Hindi sleep-music stream
Use the 1080p profile if your upload connection can sustain its bitrate over time. For a static or slowly changing sleep-music visual, 30 fps is a sensible starting point; 60 fps is generally unnecessary for this content. YouTube’s live encoder recommendations are a useful baseline, but actual delivery depends on a reliable connection and YouTube’s transcoding for viewers’ devices and networks.

All YouTube encoder values in the table come from its current live encoder settings guidance, accessed in 2026. The guidance is for encoder ingest; it does not guarantee a particular playback rendition for every viewer.
Choose 720p if the connection needs more headroom
For a lower-bandwidth alternative, use 1280×720 at 30 fps with H.264 CBR at 6 Mbps. YouTube lists 6 Mbps as recommended and 3 Mbps as the minimum for 720p30. Prefer a bitrate your upload can sustain reliably over a higher setting that it reaches only briefly.

Configure the repeating video or playlist in OBS
Repeat one local video or audio file
- In OBS, add a Media Source to the scene containing your sleep-music visual.
- Select the local media file and enable Loop. OBS documents this option as replaying the file when playback completes. Its documentation lists MP4 and MP3 among supported formats.
- Preview the scene and listen through a complete media cycle. Check for silence, clipping, an abrupt transition, or a gap at the loop point.
Loop a playlist of multiple files
- Add an OBS VLC Video source and create or select the playlist.
- Leave Loop Playlist enabled if you want playback to return to the start after the final item. OBS says this option is enabled by default for the source.
- Install VLC if it is not already available; OBS documentation says VLC must be installed for this source type.
- Play through the playlist far enough to check transitions and confirm that audio continues between tracks.
These source controls repeat media; they do not establish unattended crash recovery, automatic reconnection, or behavior after the computer restarts. OBS’s Media Sources documentation is dated 2022-01-11.
Connect OBS to YouTube and go live
- In YouTube Studio, open the stream setup and create or select the live stream. YouTube’s live stream settings guide explains stream settings and the stream key.
- Copy the stream key into OBS’s streaming configuration for the YouTube ingest. A stream key tells the encoder where to send the feed and lets YouTube accept it. Treat it as a password: do not share it or show it in a screen recording.
- Set the encoder options above, then start the OBS stream so YouTube can receive the feed.
- Check the Live Control Room preview before making the stream public or starting the event. Confirm that the visual appears and the music is audible and clean.
- During the broadcast, monitor stream health and audio/video quality. YouTube advises testing before going live with sound and movement similar to the real event, then monitoring the stream during it.
YouTube’s encoder setup guide describes creating a stream with an encoder, while its live streaming tips cover preparation and monitoring. A preflight test helps catch configuration problems, but it does not prove that a local computer will run unattended indefinitely.

Check music rights before broadcasting
Confirm that you have permission for every recording and for the intended use as a continuous YouTube livestream. Owning a copy of a track or adding attribution does not, by itself, establish permission to stream it. The available YouTube and OBS setup guidance does not determine the rights status of any particular Hindi recording or license, so check the rights holder’s terms and current YouTube policies for your material before going live.
Troubleshoot common stream problems

What to know about replay and long-running broadcasts
YouTube’s settings include DVR, which lets viewers pause and resume a live stream. The available guidance does not establish that a 24/7 broadcast will create a complete replay archive, how long an archive will be retained, or which limits apply to this exact use. Do not promise viewers that the full broadcast will be available to replay.
