For a prerecorded YouTube loop over JioFiber, start with OBS Media Source set to Loop, H.264 video, CBR, a 2-second keyframe interval, and a bitrate that leaves about 20% of your measured upload capacity unused. Try 720p30 if your upload varies; use 1080p30 only after a test confirms the connection and computer can sustain it. JioFiber’s advertised download speed does not tell you how much upload bandwidth your stream can rely on.
Recommended OBS settings for a YouTube loop
Use these as a conservative starting point, not a guarantee for every JioFiber connection. YouTube’s bitrate figures are ingest recommendations; your sustainable upload depends on the line at broadcast time, household traffic, Wi-Fi conditions and the computer’s encoding capacity.
| Setting | Starting choice | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Source | Media Source with Loop enabled | Repeats one local video after playback ends. For a playlist, use VLC Video and enable Loop Playlist; VLC must be installed and its bitness must match OBS. OBS documents Media Sources. |
| Resolution and frame rate | 720p30 when upload headroom is uncertain; consider 1080p30 after testing | Choose based on the source’s detail and motion, sustained upload and the computer’s ability to encode continuously. |
| Video codec | H.264 | A broadly compatible baseline for YouTube ingest. |
| Rate control | CBR | YouTube recommends constant bitrate for live encoding. |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds | YouTube recommends two seconds and says not to exceed four seconds. |
| Audio | AAC or MP3; stereo guidance: 44.1 kHz, 128 kbps | Use the intended track and verify that OBS’s audio meters move. |
YouTube also supports H.265/HEVC and AV1 for RTMP/RTMPS ingest, but H.264 is the straightforward baseline for this setup. Its current live encoder guidance lists these H.264 bitrate ranges; the page available here does not state a publication year:
| Output | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| 720p30 | 3 Mbps | 8 Mbps |
| 720p60 | 3 Mbps | 8 Mbps |
| 1080p30 | 5 Mbps | 14 Mbps |
| 1080p60 | 6 Mbps | 17 Mbps |
These figures come from YouTube Help’s live encoder settings guidance. They describe YouTube’s recommended ingest rates, not what a particular JioFiber plan or home connection can sustain. A mostly static loop often does not need 60 fps; if the source is 30 fps or has little motion, 30 fps is a sensible lower-demand choice. Encoder preset and hardware-versus-software encoding depend on your PC; JioFiber does not determine them.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Measure JioFiber upload and leave headroom
Measure upload on the same connection the streaming computer will use. Jio’s NetVelocity guidance says its tool provides upload speed, network quality and overall connection performance on JioFiber. Test at a time representative of the planned broadcast, and account for other devices using the connection.
YouTube’s streaming tips say the total stream bitrate must fit the available upload bandwidth and recommend leaving 20% room. In practice, keep the outgoing video-and-audio bitrate below sustained upload capacity with that margin available for variation and other traffic. A speed test is a snapshot, not a guarantee of uninterrupted service.

- Do not choose a bitrate based on the advertised download rate; upload is the relevant direction.
- If OBS shows dropped frames or YouTube Live Control Room reports poor stream health, reduce the video bitrate and/or output resolution, then test again.
- If the PC is on Wi-Fi and the connection is unstable, try Ethernet as a troubleshooting step. The available guidance does not establish a fixed improvement for every installation.
Set up the loop and YouTube connection
- Add the video: In OBS, add a Media Source, select the local file and enable Loop. For multiple clips, add a VLC Video source and enable Loop Playlist. Confirm that the picture and intended audio play and repeat correctly. OBS’s Media Sources documentation describes the source’s playback options.
- Set the canvas and output: Choose the intended aspect ratio and resolution in OBS video settings. Match frame rate to the source and what the computer can encode continuously. Start at 720p30 if you have not established reliable upload headroom.
- Connect to YouTube: Use OBS’s YouTube service integration or enter the stream URL and key supplied in YouTube Studio. YouTube explains that these let the encoder send a feed for YouTube to accept in Manage live stream settings. Treat the stream key like a password: do not share it, and reset it in YouTube if it is exposed.
- Configure encoding: Select H.264, CBR and a 2-second keyframe interval. Set a video bitrate supported by both YouTube’s guidance and your measured upload headroom; configure audio for AAC or MP3 and, for stereo, 44.1 kHz and 128 kbps per YouTube’s advanced guidance.
- Test privately or unlisted: Preview the stream, listen for the right audio, and watch the picture through the point where the file loops. Check YouTube Live Control Room stream health before making the broadcast public. YouTube recommends testing representative audio and movement and monitoring stream health.
- Prepare for a long run: Keep the computer awake, ensure the media file and its storage remain available, and monitor the broadcast. OBS and JioFiber do not guarantee that a home computer or connection will remain uninterrupted for 24 hours.
Choose latency for the kind of loop
A prerecorded loop generally does not need rapid audience interaction. YouTube notes that lower latency can increase playback buffering; use normal latency unless live interaction is important, and prioritize a stable feed. See YouTube’s live stream settings guidance.
Common problems and fixes
- OBS dropped frames or poor stream health: The upload path may not sustain the configured total bitrate, or other traffic may be consuming headroom. Lower video bitrate or resolution, retest at a representative time, and reduce competing network use.
- Video plays but the stream has no sound: Check that the selected file track is the intended one and that OBS audio meters move during playback. Recheck audio output configuration in OBS before the test broadcast.
- The file stops instead of repeating: Confirm Loop is enabled on the Media Source. For a playlist, confirm Loop Playlist is enabled on VLC Video and VLC is installed with matching bitness for OBS.
- YouTube does not accept the feed: Verify the stream URL and key copied from YouTube Studio and that the encoder is sending a compatible feed. Keep the key private; generate or reset it in YouTube if you suspect exposure.
- The loop works, then the stream stops during a long broadcast: Check whether the computer slept, the media drive became unavailable, or the connection was disrupted. Disable sleep for the planned run and verify the file remains accessible; monitor the stream rather than assuming the test proves continuous uptime.
Or let it run in the cloud
If the goal is a YouTube channel that keeps looping without leaving OBS or a home PC running, StreamNeo is a cloud alternative: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, then go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; uploaded video streams at its original quality up to 4K 60fps for one flat price per slot, and StreamNeo automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card, one free day per account. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month.
