The Crew Motorfest: the closest broad festival-style alternative
Motorfest is the strongest fit if what you want from Forza Horizon is a large driving playground that moves between different event styles. Ubisoft describes a Hawaiian open world with city races, off-road routes on volcanic slopes, track events, and short themed campaigns called Playlists. That range makes it the most natural first choice here for players who want more than a city street-racing campaign.
What you do in its world
Playlists organize themed sets of activities, while free roaming lets you move among urban roads, off-road terrain, and circuits. Ubisoft’s current product page reports more than 800 vehicle models from over 50 manufacturers; that is the publisher’s roster count, not an independently audited figure. The same page says Collection Import can bring over almost all vehicles unlocked in The Crew 2.

What is changing in 2026
Ubisoft’s page says its Year 4 plan includes Season 11 and a new free island, Kauai. Its news listing says Season 11 becomes available on October 7, 2026. Live-service roadmaps can shift, so check Ubisoft’s Motorfest page for the current status before deciding based on that content.
Need for Speed Unbound: choose it for street racing and pursuits
Unbound is a more focused alternative than a festival racer. EA frames its campaign around building through weekly qualifiers toward The Grand in Lakeshore. Police pursuits, wagers, vehicle customization, and graffiti-inspired visual effects shape the experience described by EA. It is the pick here if those street-racing stakes matter more to you than a broad mix of event types.

Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown: choose it for cruising and social car culture
Solar Crown is aimed at a different mood: driving around Hong Kong Island, collecting cars, and taking part in social or competitive activities. PlayStation describes the island as recreated at a 1:1 scale, with narrow streets, highways, mountain roads, and beaches. Its feature description also calls out social hubs, clan competition, and ranked play.
