Best Palm-Grip Gaming Mouse in 2026: Top Picks for Comfort, FPS, and Extra Controls

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Best overall: Razer Basilisk V3 Pro, for right-handed players who want a supportive palm shape, wireless flexibility, and lots of controls. For a lighter FPS-focused mouse, choose the Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro or ZOWIE EC2-DW; for a thumb rest and more inputs, consider the Logitech G502 X family. These recommendations are updated for 2026, rather than treating a 2025 roundup as a current ranking. Every pick here is right-handed or asymmetrical, so left-handed gamers need a different shortlist.

Quick comparison: palm-grip gaming mice

Mouse Best for Weight Connection and notable features Main trade-off
Razer Basilisk V3 Pro Feature-rich general gaming, MMO, and MOBA About 113 g in RTINGS’ comparison Wireless receiver and Bluetooth; programmable controls and RGB Heavy for repeated low-sensitivity FPS movement
Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro Lightweight ergonomic FPS play 64 g, according to Razer Wireless; USB-C charging; advertised battery life up to 90 hours Fewer controls; fit depends on hand proportions
ZOWIE EC2-DW Competitive FPS and a simple setup 60 g, according to ZOWIE 2.4 GHz wireless; selectable polling rates up to 4,000 Hz; receiver doubles as charging dock Higher polling rates reduce advertised battery life; limited software customization
Logitech G502 X family Thumb support, extra inputs, and general use Wired G502 X: about 83.7 g in RTINGS’ comparison Variant-dependent: wired, LIGHTSPEED wireless, or PLUS wireless with RGB Do not assume the variants share the same weight, connection, or lighting
ZOWIE EC1-DW Large-hand alternative in the EC-DW family 63 g, listed by ZOWIE Large-size ergonomic wireless model May feel oversized for medium or narrow hands

Weights come from the named source and exact model or variant; measurement methods may differ, so treat them as orientation rather than a perfectly controlled cross-brand test. Current prices and stock are not established here; check the exact version before buying.

How to choose a mouse for palm grip

Start with shape and support

In a palm grip, most of the palm rests on the shell and the fingers are relatively relaxed, usually flatter than in a claw grip. The hand often moves the mouse through the wrist and arm rather than relying on fingertip-only adjustments. A mouse with enough length, a supportive rear arch, and a comfortable side contour can help keep the hand settled without forcing the fingers to curl.

There is no single shape that suits every palm grip. Hand length, width, finger length, wrist position, and hybrid habits all change what feels comfortable. A tall mouse is not automatically a good fit: hump location matters. A rear-set hump may support the palm, while a more central hump may suit a relaxed claw grip better.

  • Supreme Comfort and Quality: brings together comfort, durability, and performance with comfortable design, rubber side grips, 10 g optional weight, and 6 programmable buttons for a customizable gaming experience
  • Advanced Button Technology: metal-spring button tensioning keeps primary left and right buttons poised to trigger with less force, for exceptional button feel, response, and consistency every time

Measure both hand length and width

  1. Measure from the wrist crease to the tip of your middle finger.
  2. Measure across the knuckles, excluding the thumb.
  3. Record both measurements in centimeters and check the maker’s size guidance where it is available.
  4. Use the measurements as a starting point, then assess shape, side contour, and button reach if you can handle the mouse in person.

Length alone does not predict fit: a wide 18 cm hand may prefer a different shell from a narrow 19 cm hand. If a mouse is too short, fingertips may curl sharply and the palm may lose contact with the rear. If it is too wide, the thumb and ring finger can feel stretched or side buttons may be hard to reach. In either case, seek a better size or contour rather than assuming more weight will fix the fit.

Choose weight for the games you play

  • Under roughly 70 g: Easier to lift and reposition, which can appeal to competitive FPS players. If you are used to a heavy mouse, it may initially feel insubstantial.
  • Around 70–90 g: A middle ground for players who want some stability without the heft of a feature-heavy model.
  • Above 100 g: Can feel planted and accommodate more features, but may become tiring during long sessions with repeated lifting, especially at low sensitivity.

Listed weight is only part of the feel. Balance, button tension, and where mass sits affect how a mouse moves. A light mouse can still feel wrong, and a heavier one may feel comfortable at rest but tiring after several hours.

Do not buy on DPI or polling rate alone

DPI is a sensor sensitivity setting, not a direct measure of accuracy or comfort. A 30,000 DPI ceiling is not a recommendation to play at 30,000 DPI. Shape, width, hump placement, coating, button position, and weight distribution are usually more consequential to fit.

A 1,000 Hz polling rate is sufficient for most players. Rates of 2,000–4,000 Hz raise how often the mouse reports its position, but can increase battery drain and CPU use. Any benefit depends on the game, display refresh rate, and how quickly you move; a higher rate cannot compensate for a poor fit.

Decide whether extra controls and wireless are useful

Basilisk- and G502-style thumb rests and side-button clusters suit players who want bindings for abilities, macros, or productivity. Check that you can reach the buttons without shifting your palm, and that a DPI or sniper button will not be pressed accidentally. A thumb rest can support the hand, but may also limit small grip adjustments. The DeathAdder has fewer controls, while ZOWIE emphasizes a simpler, driverless setup.

Wireless 2.4 GHz receiver mode is the relevant low-latency option for gaming; Bluetooth is convenient for general use but is not always the preferred competitive connection. Wireless removes cable drag, but adds charging, receiver placement, and eventual battery aging. Battery life varies with polling rate, lighting, firmware, and use. Wired models remain a straightforward way to avoid battery maintenance.

Best palm-grip gaming mice: recommendations

Razer Basilisk V3 Pro — best overall for features

RTINGS describes the Basilisk V3 Pro as a right-handed mouse suited to palm grip and reports strong performance across multiple game genres. Its supportive shape, programmable controls, RGB, wireless receiver, and Bluetooth make it the most versatile pick here for players who value convenience and features more than minimum weight. See RTINGS’ Basilisk V3 Pro review and Razer’s product page.

At about 113 g in RTINGS’ comparison, it is a poor match for some low-sensitivity FPS players who lift and reposition often. Its thumb-button cluster may also feel crowded. Consider it for a medium-to-large right hand that wants a control-rich, palm-supporting mouse, not as a universal fit.

  • Mechanical Switch Button Tensioning: A metal spring tensioning system and metal pivot hinges are built into left and right computer gaming mouse buttons for a crisp, clean click feel with rapid click feedback

Razer DeathAdder V3 Pro — best lightweight palm option

Razer lists the right-handed DeathAdder V3 Pro at 64 g, with a raised arch, ring-finger ledge, USB-C charging, and advertised battery life of up to 90 hours. Those features make it a strong candidate for players who want an ergonomic palm shape without the heft of a Basilisk- or G502-style mouse. Specifications and design details are on Razer’s DeathAdder V3 Pro page.

It has fewer controls than the Basilisk or G502, and its shape may be too large or narrow depending on hand proportions. The 30,000 DPI specification is a maximum capability, not evidence that it will improve aim. Choose it primarily for its lightweight shape and support, especially for FPS—not for its headline sensor number.

ZOWIE EC2-DW — best for competitive FPS and simplicity

ZOWIE lists the EC2-DW as a medium, right-handed ergonomic mouse weighing 60 g. It uses 2.4 GHz wireless, needs no configuration software for plug-and-play operation, and includes a receiver that doubles as a charging dock. The official EC2-DW page lists support for up to 4,000 Hz and battery life of 80 hours at 1,000 Hz, 30 hours at 2,000 Hz, and 24 hours at 4,000 Hz.

Start at 1,000 Hz unless you have a reason to use a higher rate; the listed endurance falls substantially as the rate rises. The mouse offers fewer customization options and no RGB, which suits players seeking simplicity but not those who want extensive software controls. ZOWIE describes its directional receiver as intended to improve reception and reduce interference; placing the receiver close to the mouse rather than behind a metal PC chassis is sensible for wireless play.

Logitech G502 X family — best for thumb support and controls

The G502 X shape is a familiar option for users who want a thumb rest and more inputs than a lightweight esports mouse typically offers. It can suit MMO, MOBA, productivity, and general gaming. In RTINGS’ comparison, the wired G502 X weighs about 83.7 g, versus about 113 g for the Basilisk V3 Pro. See the RTINGS comparison and Logitech’s G502 X PLUS product page.

Check the exact model: G502 X is wired, G502 X LIGHTSPEED is wireless, and G502 X PLUS is wireless with RGB. They differ in connectivity and weight, so the wired model’s comparison figure must not be applied to the wireless versions. The shape can feel bulky, and the family is not the first choice for someone prioritizing the lightest possible mouse.

ZOWIE EC1-DW — the large EC-series alternative

ZOWIE identifies the EC1-DW as the large version of its EC-DW family and lists its weight as 63 g. It is worth considering if the medium EC2-DW feels too short or cramped, but a larger shell is not automatically better for a wide or long hand. Consult ZOWIE’s EC1-DW page and judge the fit by both length and width.

Match the mouse to your games and habits

  • Tactical and low-sensitivity FPS: Favor a lighter ergonomic mouse, such as the DeathAdder V3 Pro or EC2-DW, if repeated lifting is tiring with your current mouse.
  • High-sensitivity FPS: The weight penalty may matter less than a stable shape, predictable buttons, and a comfortable grip.
  • MMO and MOBA: The Basilisk V3 Pro or a G502 X variant may be more useful when extra programmable inputs matter more than minimum weight.
  • Single-player and general use: Comfort, wireless convenience, and scroll-wheel behavior may matter more than a very low weight.
  • Minimal software and lighting: The EC2-DW is the most straightforward choice in this shortlist; it is designed for plug-and-play use and has no RGB.
  • Replacing a heavy mouse: A lighter shell may initially feel unstable simply because it is unfamiliar. Give the change time, but do not ignore persistent discomfort or poor reach.

Common fit problems to catch before buying

Palm grip versus relaxed claw

If your palm barely touches the shell and your fingertips stay arched, you may be using a relaxed claw or hybrid grip rather than a full palm grip. In a more pronounced palm grip, most of the palm rests on the mouse and the fingers are comparatively relaxed. This distinction matters because a centrally placed hump or shorter shell may feel natural in a hybrid grip but fail to support a fully resting palm.

Side buttons or thumb rest feel awkward

If reaching a side button makes your palm slide or your thumb stretch, prioritize side contour and button reach over the number of controls. A thumb rest should feel supportive rather than forcing the thumb into a fixed position.

Weight feels wrong after a few hours

Assess comfort in motion as well as at rest. A heavier shell may feel stable initially yet make long, low-sensitivity sessions tiring; a very light shell may feel unfamiliar to someone coming from a G502 or office mouse. Balance and grip fit matter alongside the number on the scale.

Is a palm-grip gaming mouse right for left-handed players?

The shortlist above consists of right-handed ergonomic shapes or asymmetrical models. Left-handed players should not assume that a right-handed shell will work because it has wireless connectivity or many buttons. Look for a genuinely ambidextrous or left-handed model and check that its buttons and contours suit the hand you actually use.
