For most UK communities, HostPanel’s London 16 GB plan is the clearest fit for a long-running Palworld world: it lists £40 per month, NVMe storage, automatic backups, full file access, DDoS protection and a 99.9% uptime SLA. GTX Gaming is the lower advertised entry-price option, starting at £9.99 per month and offering a UK/Ireland latency test. Neither provider has independently measured ping or uptime results published here, so treat those as provider specifications rather than test findings.

Pocketpair lists four CPU cores and 16 GB of memory for Palworld servers. An 8 GB server can boot, but the official documentation warns that it has a greater risk of out-of-memory crashes. That makes memory headroom, backup recovery and the physical location of the server more important than the cheapest headline price.

Quick verdict: which UK Palworld host should you choose?

Choose according to the way your group will play rather than choosing on monthly price alone. A small group that wants to try a hosted world can start with GTX Gaming’s advertised entry tier and use its UK/Ireland latency test before ordering. A community intending to keep one world running for months, add players or leave room for heavier saves should start at 16 GB with HostPanel. Technically confident owners who want complete operating-system control can deploy Palworld themselves on Windows or Linux, but they become responsible for updates, firewall rules, backups, monitoring and recovery.

Option Advertised price UK location or latency information Storage and resilience Administration and protection Best fit
HostPanel 8 GB: £20/month; 16 GB: £40/month; flat £2.50 per GB per month, with the same renewal price London, UK datacentre NVMe storage; automatic backups Full FTP/file access, instant setup, DDoS protection and a 99.9% uptime SLA Long-running worlds and larger UK communities that value transparent capacity and recovery tools
GTX Gaming From £9.99/month; current stock and pricing should be checked before purchase UK/Ireland latency test is offered; no independent ping result is established here Automatic off-site backups Web control panel, file access, settings/save/backup/upgrade controls and DDoS protection Price-conscious groups that want to test their route and manage a server through a panel
Self-hosting Depends on hardware, electricity and internet service You choose the site; home upload quality and distance determine player latency You must supply suitable SSD storage and your own backup copies You manage the operating system, Steam or SteamCMD, firewall, updates, port forwarding and recovery Owners who need full control and are comfortable administering Windows or Linux

HostPanel is the strongest documented all-round choice in this comparison because its London location, RAM prices, NVMe storage, backup policy, file access and uptime commitment are stated together. GTX Gaming is compelling when the lower advertised starting price matters more than a fully specified RAM tier, provided its current plan, location and renewal terms meet your needs.

Palworld’s official server requirements

Pocketpair’s version 0.5.0 requirements documentation gives a useful baseline before you compare providers. It lists a recommended four-core CPU and 16 GB of memory. The same page says that 8 GB is bootable, but increases the possibility of server crashes caused by running out of memory. “Bootable” therefore means that the process can start, not that an 8 GB machine has comfortable capacity for every world.

Requirement Official detail Why it matters when choosing a host
CPU Four cores recommended Ask how many cores or how much CPU allocation your plan receives; a RAM-only comparison can hide a CPU bottleneck.
Memory 16 GB listed; 8 GB also bootable but with higher out-of-memory crash risk Use 16 GB as the safer starting point for a persistent world, more players or heavier activity.
Network UDP port 8211 by default That port must be allowed through the host firewall and any router or security group when self-hosting.
Storage Faster SSD storage is recommended; low-performance storage may corrupt saved data Prefer NVMe or another fast SSD and confirm how backups can be restored.
Operating system Windows 64-bit and Linux 64-bit Check whether a managed panel hides the operating system or gives you the access needed for your chosen deployment.
Deployment methods Windows with Steam, Windows with SteamCMD, Linux with SteamCMD and the official Docker image Choose a host that supports the method you can maintain. Pocketpair warns that Docker Desktop is deprecated from a storage-I/O perspective.

Why 16 GB is the practical target

Memory use changes as the world runs, saves, and accumulates activity. A server that starts on 8 GB may still fail later when its world, player count or installed modifications demand more memory. The official 16 GB figure is therefore a better planning target than the minimum that happens to launch. HostPanel’s 16 GB tier is specifically described as its safe recommendation for long-running worlds and larger communities. GTX Gaming’s advertised page does not provide a directly comparable RAM schedule in the information available here, so confirm the allocation for the exact plan before paying.

HostPanel: the clearest transparent London option

Published capacity and cost

HostPanel lists an 8 GB plan at £20 per month and a 16 GB plan at £40 per month. It also states a flat £2.50 per GB monthly rate and the same price at renewal. On that basis, twelve months would total £240 for 8 GB or £480 for 16 GB when billed monthly; those annual totals are arithmetic from the published monthly prices, not separate annual quotations.

The provider describes 16 GB as the safe recommendation for long-running worlds and larger communities. Its listing says 8+ players are recommended and up to 32 players are supported. Those player figures are HostPanel’s stated guidance, not an independently reproduced benchmark, and actual capacity still depends on world activity, CPU allocation and modifications.

Storage, backups and recovery

NVMe storage addresses the official warning that slow storage can contribute to save corruption. Automatic backups provide a recovery point, while full FTP and file access lets an owner download saves, replace configuration files or move the world to another machine. Before inviting players, identify where the backup list and restore control live and verify that you can retrieve a copy outside the panel.

Network and service commitment

HostPanel says its Palworld servers run in a London, UK datacentre. A UK site normally shortens the physical route for UK players, but no independent ping measurements are available here. The listing also includes DDoS protection, instant setup and a 99.9% uptime SLA. An SLA is a published service commitment, not proof that a particular month will achieve that percentage; read its exclusions and remedy terms before treating it as a guarantee.

Who should choose it?

HostPanel suits an owner who wants the requirements to be easy to audit: a stated UK site, explicit 8 GB and 16 GB tiers, NVMe, backups, files, DDoS mitigation and an uptime figure. Start at 16 GB if the world is intended to be permanent or the group may grow. The 8 GB tier is better treated as a cautious trial rather than a growth plan because it sits at the official crash-risk boundary.

GTX Gaming: lower advertised entry price with a route test

What the listing includes

GTX Gaming advertises Palworld hosting from £9.99 per month. Its product page offers a latency test from the UK or Ireland, DDoS protection, automatic off-site backups, a web control panel and file access. The panel is described as providing controls for settings, save files, backups and upgrades, which is useful if you expect to change configuration or move between capacity levels.

The page states support for Palworld 1.0 and mentions release content such as the World Tree endgame region and new Pals. Those are provider claims about the service listing, not independent verification. Palworld versions and available stock can change, so check the current page and the plan’s game-version support at checkout.

Questions to answer before ordering

  • How much RAM and CPU allocation does the £9.99 plan include?
  • Is the selected machine physically in the UK, in Ireland or elsewhere, and what result does the latency test show from your players’ networks?
  • What is the renewal price after any introductory rate?
  • How long are off-site backups retained, and can you trigger or download a restore?
  • Can you access the complete save and configuration directories through the panel or file transfer?

GTX Gaming is a sensible shortlist candidate when the route test is valuable and the starting price is the primary constraint. It is not possible to rank it against HostPanel on raw performance from the published information alone because there are no independent ping, uptime or support-response tests and no directly comparable RAM table here.

Self-hosting in the UK: control in exchange for responsibility

Self-hosting avoids a recurring game-server bill and gives you direct access to the machine, but it does not remove the technical work. You provide a Windows 64-bit or Linux 64-bit system, fast SSD storage, reliable upload bandwidth, a firewall rule for UDP 8211 and a backup routine. A home connection also exposes the world to changes in power, router configuration and ISP performance.

Supported deployment paths

Pocketpair documents Windows with Steam, Windows with SteamCMD, Linux with SteamCMD and the official Docker image. Docker Desktop is specifically deprecated from a storage-I/O perspective in the official guidance, so do not select it merely because it is familiar; use a supported deployment environment and pay attention to the storage layer.

Minimum self-hosting checklist

  • Allocate four CPU cores and target 16 GB of memory rather than designing around the 8 GB bootable floor.
  • Use a fast SSD and keep backup copies separate from the live save directory.
  • Allow UDP 8211 through the host firewall and router, while limiting administration interfaces to trusted networks.
  • Document the Steam or SteamCMD installation method, update process and the location of save files.
  • Test a restore on a second directory or machine before the world becomes valuable.
  • Monitor memory use and crashes so you can add capacity before players lose progress.

How UK location affects latency

A London or nearby UK/Ireland datacentre can reduce the distance packets travel for players in Britain and Ireland. That can improve responsiveness, but geography is only one part of the route: the player’s ISP, peering and congestion also matter. A provider’s “UK” label is not an independently measured ping.

GTX Gaming’s UK/Ireland latency test is the only route-testing facility identified in the available listings. Run it from the same networks your players will use, ideally at busy and quiet times. If players are spread across Europe, test from several countries rather than optimizing for one household. HostPanel identifies London as its location but does not publish measured ping results here.

Storage, backups and save safety

Palworld’s official guidance recommends faster SSD storage and warns that low-performance storage may corrupt saved data. NVMe, as listed by HostPanel, is the clearest match to that requirement. GTX Gaming lists automatic off-site backups, which adds protection if the server’s primary machine fails. In either case, ask how often backups run, how many generations are retained and whether restoration is self-service or requires support.

A practical backup routine

  1. Keep automatic backups enabled before opening the server to players.
  2. Download a copy of the save at a regular interval to storage you control.
  3. Record the world name, server settings and Palworld version alongside each copy.
  4. Test restoration with the server stopped, never by overwriting the only live save.
  5. After a successful restore, restart the service and confirm that player progress and settings load correctly.

Full file access, which HostPanel lists, and the file access advertised by GTX Gaming make migration easier because you are not locked to a panel’s export format. Still, copy the entire relevant save and configuration structure and retain the original until the replacement server has been verified.

Administration: the controls that save time

A managed panel should reduce routine work without preventing emergency access. Look for one-click or guided deployment, start/stop/restart controls, update handling, editable settings, save-file access, backup management and a clear upgrade path. HostPanel lists instant setup and full FTP/file access. GTX Gaming lists a web control panel with settings, save, backup and upgrade controls.

Ask how a provider handles a version update that changes the world format. A safe sequence is to stop the server, take a fresh backup, apply the update, start it, and confirm that the world loads before allowing players back in. Keep a dated copy so you can roll back if a new build or modification causes instability.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Security, DDoS protection and support

Both listed providers advertise DDoS protection. That is useful for an internet-facing game server, but the listing does not establish the attack sizes covered, filtering locations, response times or whether protection is included on every tier. Request those details if your group is a visible target.

Do not confuse a 99.9% uptime SLA with support availability. HostPanel publishes the SLA; the available GTX Gaming notes do not provide a comparable uptime percentage. Before ordering, check support hours, escalation method, expected response for a crashed world and whether staff can restore a backup without deleting the current files.

Price comparison and contract checks

Cost question HostPanel GTX Gaming
Published entry price £20/month for 8 GB From £9.99/month
Published larger tier £40/month for 16 GB A directly comparable tier is not stated in the available listing
Renewal pricing Same renewal price is stated Confirm current renewal terms
Billing basis Flat £2.50 per GB per month Confirm RAM, slots and upgrade basis for the selected plan
Backups Automatic backups Automatic off-site backups

Do not compare £9.99 with £40 until you know the memory, CPU allocation, storage and backup retention behind each plan. A cheaper tier that regularly runs out of memory costs more in lost progress and emergency migration time than a correctly sized plan. Also check whether a displayed price is promotional, whether tax is included and whether cancellation leaves you enough time to download the save.

Step-by-step: selecting and launching a UK Palworld server

1. Define the world you are actually running

Write down the expected peak concurrent players, whether the world must remain online continuously, and whether you will use modifications or frequent backups. If the answer is “persistent world with room to grow,” begin from the official 16 GB target rather than the 8 GB bootable minimum.

2. Shortlist by location and capacity

For a primarily British group, shortlist London or a nearby UK/Ireland site. Confirm the actual RAM and CPU allocation, not only the plan name. For GTX Gaming, run its UK/Ireland latency test. For HostPanel, use its stated London location while remembering that no independent ping result is supplied.

3. Confirm resilience before paying

Check the backup schedule, retention, off-site status and restore workflow. Confirm that you can download save files. If a provider cannot explain how to recover a corrupted or accidentally deleted world, its advertised storage speed is not enough by itself.

4. Deploy and secure the instance

Use the provider’s deployment flow or one of Pocketpair’s documented Windows/Linux methods. Set a strong panel password, restrict administrative access, allow UDP 8211 only where needed and avoid exposing unrelated management services.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

5. Create a restore point before inviting players

Start the server, connect with one or two test accounts, stop it cleanly and verify that the world reloads. Download or duplicate the first known-good save. This gives you a baseline for later updates and configuration changes.

6. Watch memory and save behavior

Record crashes, restart times and memory pressure. If an 8 GB instance approaches its limit or crashes with out-of-memory errors, move to a 16 GB plan before adding more players or modifications. Keep a dated backup before every major update.

7. Document migration details

Keep the server address, port, world settings, save location, provider login and restore instructions in a private record. Full file access makes a future move possible, but only if you know which files to copy and have tested that they open on the replacement service.

Troubleshooting common hosting problems

The server will not start

Check that the selected operating system and deployment method are supported, that the installation completed, and that UDP 8211 is available. Review memory allocation first: 8 GB can boot but has a documented higher out-of-memory crash risk. If the process still fails, restore the last known-good configuration or save rather than repeatedly starting an unverified update.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Players report lag

Use the provider’s route test where available and compare results from affected players. A UK label does not guarantee a low route from every ISP. Check CPU and memory pressure, then test with fewer simultaneous players. Avoid changing the save repeatedly while diagnosing; create a backup before each controlled change.

A save appears corrupted

Stop the server so it does not overwrite the damaged state. Preserve the current files, identify the newest known-good backup and restore it to a separate location first. Fast SSD storage reduces the risk associated with slow I/O, but no storage type replaces tested backups.

You need to move providers

Stop the old server, download the complete save and relevant configuration files, note the Palworld version and settings, then deploy the new instance and restore into its expected directories. Test privately before changing the address shared with players. Keep the old copy until everyone has confirmed that characters and progress are intact.

Final recommendation

For a UK group choosing on documented specifications, HostPanel’s London 16 GB plan is the safest default: it aligns with Pocketpair’s 16 GB guidance and combines NVMe, automatic backups, full file access, DDoS protection and a stated 99.9% uptime SLA at a transparent £40 monthly renewal price. Choose its 8 GB tier only for a smaller trial where you accept the official out-of-memory caveat.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Choose GTX Gaming when its lower advertised starting price and UK/Ireland latency test solve your main problem. Verify the exact RAM, CPU, renewal price, backup retention and current Palworld version support before committing. Self-host only when you are prepared to own every operational task from port 8211 and updates to backup restoration. In every case, size for 16 GB when the world matters more than the first month’s bill, and test a restore before your community invests time in the save.
