Best PC Settings for Smooth Performance in Rockbeasts

By VGSources Team 10 min read

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

For a smooth Rockbeasts experience, begin with the game’s default or recommended preset on a PC around the Steam recommended specification: Windows 10 or 11 64-bit, 8 GB of RAM, an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600-class processor, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 or AMD Radeon RX 550-class graphics card. The recommended CPU/GPU tier is interpreted as suitable for about 60 frames per second at 1080p, although it is an independent interpretation rather than a published per-setting benchmark.

If performance is unstable, lower the output resolution first, then reduce the most demanding effects that are actually present in your graphics menu. Rockbeasts-specific control names, frame-rate behavior, upscaling support and measured gains for individual options are not published, so the safest approach is a one-change-at-a-time test while watching frame pacing.

What “smooth” should mean on your PC

Most players asking how to make Rockbeasts run smoother are looking for a stable frame rate rather than the highest possible peak. A consistent 60 frames per second at 1080p is the practical target supported by the published guidance when your machine is close to the recommended processor and graphics-card class. A system that briefly reaches 90 fps but repeatedly falls to 35 fps will feel less fluid than one that holds close to 60.

Resolution, frame-rate target and hardware tier are linked. Increasing resolution makes the graphics card render more pixels; increasing a frame-rate target gives the card and processor less time to produce each frame. Decide which of those matters most before changing settings:

#1 Best Overall

Goal What the available evidence supports How to approach it
1080p near 60 fps The recommended CPU/GPU class is interpreted as sufficient for approximately 60 fps at 1080p by PC Games Guide’s 2026 guide. Use the recommended or default preset first, then tune only if frame pacing is inconsistent.
1080p above 60 fps No controlled Rockbeasts benchmark establishes a hardware tier for higher refresh-rate targets. Use a sensible cap for your display and test stability rather than assuming a particular component will reach a fixed rate.
1440p The published guide presents a stronger tier for this resolution, but no exact processor or graphics-card models are stated. Expect to need more graphics headroom than the 1080p recommendation and lower resolution or demanding effects if frame time spikes.
4K A still stronger tier is presented for 4K, without exact models or a Rockbeasts per-setting benchmark. Treat 4K as a high-demand target; prioritize stable frame pacing and be prepared to reduce output resolution.

These are planning tiers, not guarantees. Your monitor’s refresh rate, laptop power limits, background applications, thermals and the game’s future patches can all change the result.

Rockbeasts PC requirements that matter

The current Steam listing from Team17 Digital Limited specifies the following baseline. The memory and storage figures are the same in both columns, while the processor and graphics requirements differ.

Component Minimum Recommended
Operating system Windows 10/11 64-bit Windows 10/11 64-bit
Memory 8 GB RAM 8 GB RAM
Processor Not stated in the Steam requirement listing Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600 class
Graphics Intel UHD 620 or AMD Radeon RX Vega 3 Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 or AMD Radeon RX 550 class
Free storage 25 GB 25 GB

The minimum graphics entries are integrated or entry-level parts. They describe the lowest official tier, not a promise of 1080p at 60 fps. The recommended graphics tier is the clearest reference point for a smooth 1080p setup.

Why the GPU is usually the first performance question

At a fixed resolution, the graphics processor performs most of the per-frame rendering work. If your system is below the recommended GTX 1050 or RX 550 class, a graphics-card upgrade is the most direct hardware path identified by the published specifications. A faster card will not remove a processor bottleneck, but it gives the game more rendering headroom when the GPU is the limiting component.

RAM and storage checks

Rockbeasts lists 8 GB RAM for both minimum and recommended configurations. Having exactly 8 GB leaves less room for a browser, recording software or other background programs, so close unnecessary applications before launching. The listing also calls for 25 GB of available storage; keep at least that amount free on the drive containing the installation so updates and temporary files do not fail. The requirement does not establish an SSD-versus-hard-drive performance target.

Set up Windows before changing graphics options

These checks do not depend on an undocumented Rockbeasts menu and can eliminate avoidable contention before you test the game.

  1. Confirm the operating system. Use a 64-bit installation of Windows 10 or Windows 11. A 32-bit edition does not match the listed requirement.
  2. Check available memory and storage. In Windows, open Task Manager to see whether other applications are consuming most of your RAM. In File Explorer, verify that the installation drive has at least 25 GB free.
  3. Close competing workloads. Pause large downloads, close video editors and browsers with many tabs, and disable overlays you do not need for troubleshooting. Recorders and monitoring tools can be re-enabled after you establish a stable baseline.
  4. Use a consistent power source. On a laptop, connect the charger and select a performance-oriented Windows power mode if your model exposes one. Battery-saving modes can reduce sustained CPU or GPU clocks.
  5. Allow the system to cool. Blocked vents or a hot chassis can cause clocks to fall during play. Place a laptop on a hard surface and ensure a desktop’s intake and exhaust paths are clear.

No required graphics-driver version is published for Rockbeasts, so there is no Rockbeasts-specific driver number to target. Install the current stable driver offered for your GPU by its manufacturer, restart Windows, and then test from the same save or area so comparisons are meaningful.

Choose a safe in-game starting point

Because Rockbeasts’ exact graphics menu, option names, preset composition, frame-rate cap behavior or upscaling modes are not published, do not assume that a setting found in another game exists here. Start with the game’s default or recommended preset and record the resulting resolution and frame-rate behavior.

  1. Open the graphics or display menu. Use the game’s own menu rather than a third-party configuration file.
  2. Set your intended output resolution. For the evidence-backed target, choose 1920×1080 if that resolution is available. If your display is 1440p or 4K, you can test its native mode later after establishing a stable 1080p baseline.
  3. Apply the recommended or default preset. Restart the game if it requests a restart. Do not change several individual options before you know whether the preset is already stable.
  4. Play a repeatable section. Use the same level, location or activity for each test. Move through a scene that normally causes the slowdown instead of judging only from a quiet menu.
  5. Watch frame pacing. An on-screen counter can show average fps, but visible hitching and uneven frame times matter too. Note whether the problem is a low sustained rate, brief stutters or pauses during loading.

This process produces a useful baseline without pretending that a preset has a proven, universal frame-rate result.

How to tune settings when performance is unstable

Change one variable at a time and retest the same scene. The order below is a practical troubleshooting sequence, not a measured ranking of Rockbeasts options.

1. Lower output resolution

Resolution is the most direct way to reduce the number of pixels the GPU must render. If 1080p is unstable, test a lower available resolution and compare frame pacing. The image will be softer, but this test quickly shows whether the graphics card is the main limit. If lowering resolution produces little improvement, the bottleneck may be the processor, background activity or a game-side hitch rather than raw pixel workload.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

2. Reduce the heaviest available effects

After choosing a workable resolution, inspect the options that are present in your build and lower the effects that appear most demanding, such as lighting, reflections, volumetric effects, shadows or post-processing. No published Rockbeasts measurements provide results for any of these categories, so you should not expect a guaranteed number of frames from a particular change. Keep textures higher if memory use is acceptable and the game remains stable, then trade visual effects for consistency where necessary.

  • Desirable Warmness Dissipationimpact And Occasional Temperature: the laptop images card a lower working temperature and better efficiency, which can effectively meet your wishes.
  • Efficient And Cooling: The lower working temperature of this computer graphics card ensures higher efficiency, effectively meeting all your needs.

3. Test display synchronization and caps

If the game exposes vertical synchronization or a frame-rate cap, test the available choices one at a time. A cap below the monitor’s maximum can make frame delivery more consistent, while synchronization can change how tearing and latency feel. Rockbeasts’ exact cap behavior is not documented, so judge the result on your own display rather than relying on a universal rule.

4. Test any built-in scaling option carefully

Some games provide resolution scaling or an upscaler, but no published Rockbeasts information confirms that these controls exist or identifies their quality modes. If your build offers one, compare image clarity and frame pacing at the same output resolution. Do not enable an option merely because a guide for another game recommends it.

Diagnose the symptom before buying hardware

Low frame rate everywhere

  • Confirm that the game is using the discrete GPU in a laptop rather than an integrated adapter.
  • Return to the recommended or default preset, then test a lower resolution.
  • Check whether GPU utilization is high while the processor has headroom. If so, graphics settings or the GPU tier are the likely focus.

Brief stutters with an otherwise acceptable average

  • Close overlays, browsers, recorders and download clients for a clean comparison.
  • Check available RAM while the game is running; 8 GB is the official recommended amount, and other applications can consume the remaining capacity.
  • Repeat the same route after a restart. If the hitch occurs only during a particular transition, it may not respond to lowering every graphics option.

Performance degrades after several minutes

  • Check CPU and GPU temperatures and ensure vents are unobstructed.
  • Use wall power on a laptop and avoid a battery-saving mode.
  • If clocks fall as the system heats, improve airflow before judging a new graphics preset.

The game will not start or crashes

  • Verify the 64-bit Windows requirement and free at least 25 GB on the installation drive.
  • Close overlays and background utilities, then restart Windows.
  • Return to the game’s default settings rather than carrying over an aggressive custom configuration.

These steps are diagnostic safeguards. They are not evidence that a particular Rockbeasts patch, driver or graphics option causes a specific fault.

  1. Check the GPU tier. GTX 1050 or RX 550-class graphics are the recommended reference. Integrated Intel UHD 620 and Radeon RX Vega 3 are listed as minimum graphics, so they should be treated as a lower-expectation configuration.
  2. Check the processor tier. The recommended reference is an Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600-class CPU. A weaker processor can limit frame delivery even when the graphics card is adequate.
  3. Check memory and free space. Meet the 8 GB RAM and 25 GB free-storage requirements before changing quality settings.
  4. Test 1080p first. The approximately 60-fps interpretation applies to the recommended CPU/GPU class at 1080p, not to the minimum tier and not to every possible system combination.
  5. Only then test higher resolutions. The independent guide identifies stronger tiers for 1440p and 4K, but exact hardware models are not established here. Plan on additional graphics headroom.

When a component upgrade makes sense

Your GPU is below the recommended tier

A GTX 1050-class upgrade is the clearest graphics path supported by the published specifications and 1080p interpretation. Before purchasing, confirm your desktop’s power supply, case clearance, motherboard slot and monitor connection. For a laptop, the GPU is usually not replaceable; a complete system change may be more realistic.

Your GPU meets the tier but the CPU does not

The recommended processor class matters because frame preparation can become the limit in busy scenes. Check processor utilization and frame-time behavior before replacing a graphics card that already meets the recommended class. A platform upgrade may require a compatible motherboard and memory, so compare the total replacement cost with the value of the existing system.

You want 1440p or 4K

Do not assume that a 1080p-focused GTX 1050/RX 550-class machine will deliver a stable high-resolution result. The published guide separates 1440p and 4K into stronger hardware tiers but does not publish exact Rockbeasts models. A complete replacement is worth considering when both the processor and graphics card fall short, or when a laptop cannot accept a GPU upgrade.

A repeatable test routine

Use this checklist whenever you change hardware, drivers or a graphics option:

  1. Restart Windows and close nonessential applications.
  2. Launch Rockbeasts with the same preset and resolution used for the previous test.
  3. Load the same area or activity and play for several minutes, including the location where you noticed the issue.
  4. Record average behavior, obvious hitching, image quality and whether the system becomes hotter or louder.
  5. Change exactly one setting, apply it, and repeat the route.
  6. Keep the change only if it improves consistency without an unacceptable visual or input-latency trade-off.

This method is more reliable than copying a fixed “best settings” list because Rockbeasts’ exact graphics controls and patch-specific performance are not established by published information.

Recommended starting profiles

PC situation Starting profile Next adjustment
At or near recommended CPU/GPU, 1080p display Default or recommended preset at 1920×1080; aim for stable behavior near 60 fps. Lower the heaviest available effects only if frame pacing is uneven.
Below recommended GPU, but meets minimum requirements Begin at 1080p only if acceptable; otherwise test a lower resolution with the default preset. Reduce demanding effects one at a time. Consider a GTX 1050-class graphics upgrade for a desktop.
8 GB laptop with integrated graphics Use wall power, close background programs and start with the lowest practical resolution. Lower effects and monitor heat-related clock drops; integrated graphics cannot normally be replaced.
1440p or 4K system Establish a stable 1080p baseline, then move to native resolution. If frame pacing falls, return to a lower output resolution or use a stronger hardware tier.

“Lowest” and “heaviest” refer to the controls exposed by your current Rockbeasts build; their names and availability can change with updates.

Bottom line for a smooth Rockbeasts setup

Use Windows 10/11 64-bit, 8 GB RAM and 25 GB of free storage as the non-negotiable baseline. For the best-supported 1080p target, pair an Intel Core i5-8400 or Ryzen 5 2600-class processor with a GTX 1050 or RX 550-class GPU, start at the recommended preset, and tune by lowering resolution or demanding effects only when the repeatable test shows instability. Systems below that graphics tier may need reduced settings, while 1440p and 4K should be planned around stronger hardware rather than a guaranteed option-by-option tweak.
