For smoother matches in Call of Duty: Mobile, set Graphics Quality to Low, choose the highest Frame Rate option your device offers, and turn off Depth of Field and Real-Time Shadows. Activision presents this as a performance-focused starting point—not a guarantee of a particular frame rate on every phone. If the problem is connection delay rather than choppy visuals, graphics changes may not help.
Which settings should you change first?
- Set Graphics Quality to Low. Activision’s Google Play editorial recommends Low for performance-focused play, particularly in fast-paced matches. The trade-off is less visual detail.
- Set Frame Rate to the highest available option. Options vary by device and game build, so choose from the choices actually shown in your settings rather than expecting a specific FPS target.
- Turn off Depth of Field and Real-Time Shadows. Activision suggests disabling these visual effects to help keep frame rate steadier.
Activision Publishing, Inc., the publisher attribution on the Google Play editorial, states: “For the best performance, especially in fast-paced matches, set the Graphics Quality to Low and the Frame Rate to Max.” Read the editorial.
How should you balance smoothness and image quality?
Low graphics is the sensible first choice when consistent play matters more than visual detail. If the game remains smooth, raise Graphics Quality gradually and check the result in actual matches; this is a practical way to find a device-specific compromise, not a universally tested recipe. If stutter returns, lower it again.
Field of View is a preference setting, not a core performance fix. Activision’s editorial suggests around 75 as one possible balanced view, but you can adjust it to suit what feels comfortable.

Is it frame-rate trouble or network lag?
“Lag” can mean two different problems. Choppy animation or uneven-looking motion points toward frame-rate or rendering performance. Delayed actions, interrupted play, or connection trouble may instead involve the network. Changing graphics settings does not necessarily resolve a connection problem.

Do minimum device requirements guarantee smooth performance?
No. Activision Support lists these minimum compatibility requirements in its article updated February 25, 2026:

What should you check after an update?
Activision’s Version 35.0 notes, dated December 8, 2025, say the app size was reduced and some Android content may need to be downloaded through the in-game Download Manager. The notes specifically mention the Isolated Battle Royale map and HD audio. If content is missing after an update, check the Download Manager; this is a setup issue rather than a frame-rate setting.
