Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →For a 1080p YouTube Live stream from PRISM Live Studio desktop, start with 1920×1080 progressive video, H.264, CBR, a 2-second keyframe interval, and 10 Mbps at 30fps or 12 Mbps at 60fps. Match the source video’s frame rate where practical, leave about 20% upload headroom, and test the file’s repeat behavior in your installed PRISM version: PRISM’s published desktop guide explains adding media and autoplay, but does not confirm an unattended, indefinite loop control.
Recommended PRISM settings for 1080p YouTube Live
| Setting | Starting value | How to choose |
|---|---|---|
| Output resolution | 1920×1080 progressive | Use this for a 1080p stream. A source file already at 1920×1080 avoids unnecessary scaling. |
| Video codec | H.264 | It is the straightforward baseline for YouTube Live and matches PRISM’s listed 1080p recommendations. |
| Rate control | CBR | PRISM lists constant bitrate for these settings. |
| Frame rate and bitrate | 30fps: 10,000 Kbps (10 Mbps); 60fps: 12,000 Kbps | These are PRISM’s official YouTube settings. Prefer 30fps for a 30fps source or low-motion content; use 60fps when the source and motion benefit from it and your computer and connection can sustain it. |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds | Use the interval specified in PRISM’s table. |
| Audio | AAC or MP3; 128 Kbps stereo recommended by YouTube | Keep audio enabled if the video needs it, then confirm it in YouTube’s preview. |
PRISM’s recommended bitrates sit within YouTube’s broader H.264 ingestion ranges: 5–14 Mbps for 1080p30 and 6–17 Mbps for 1080p60. YouTube accepts frame rates up to 60fps. Avoid converting a 30fps source to 60fps without a visual or production reason: it adds encoding and network load without creating the missing source frames. PRISM’s desktop FAQ also notes that higher resolution and frame rate can add system load, and that some effects may be limited at 1080p. PRISM Live Studio’s FAQ; YouTube encoder settings.
Set up a video source in PRISM
- Open PRISM Live Studio desktop and add your video file as a media source. PRISM’s desktop FAQ describes adding video files as media sources.
- Open Settings > Video and set the output resolution and FPS. For 1080p, use 1920×1080 and choose 30 or 60fps based on the source and motion requirements.
- In the streaming output settings, select H.264, CBR, the matching bitrate from the table above, and a 2-second keyframe interval. PRISM’s FAQ lists 10,000 Kbps at 30fps or 12,000 Kbps at 60fps for 1080p H.264.
- Configure the stream destination with the YouTube stream key from YouTube Live Control Room. Use RTMPS where available; YouTube recommends encrypted RTMPS transport. Keep the key private.
- Check that audio is enabled and that the intended file is audible in the YouTube preview. YouTube recommends AAC or MP3 for RTMP/RTMPS and 128 Kbps stereo audio.
PRISM lists AV1 and H.265 options, but codec availability and hardware performance vary. Use H.264 as the baseline unless you have verified that the selected codec, PRISM version, and YouTube ingest setup support your workflow.
Make sure the video actually repeats
Adding a media file and enabling autoplay are not proof that it will restart indefinitely after reaching its end. PRISM’s official desktop Media Source guide covers adding a file and autoplay in Studio Mode, but does not establish an indefinite repeat switch or its current label. Check the behavior in the PRISM version installed on your computer: let the file reach its end during a private or unlisted test and verify that it starts again without intervention. - Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
If the file stops at the end, do not assume a source becoming active again is the same as continuous looping. Check PRISM’s current controls and documentation for your version, or use a workflow that explicitly supports repeat playback. YouTube’s reused-content and copyright policies still apply to prerecorded video: you need the necessary rights, and repeating a video does not itself make content eligible for monetization. Review YouTube’s copyright guidance and YouTube channel monetization policies before streaming content you did not create or license.
Prepare your PC and upload connection
Match the source to the output
PRISM recommends matching the media file’s resolution to the transmission resolution. A 1920×1080 file sent at 1080p avoids unnecessary scaling; larger source files can use more CPU, and hardware decoding can increase GPU load. If playback or encoding stutters, close resource-heavy programs and reduce FPS, bitrate, or output resolution. PRISM recommends using a supported dedicated NVIDIA or AMD hardware encoder when available; the exact option depends on your graphics card. PRISM performance guidance.

Allow for headroom
Plan upload capacity for the whole stream bitrate, including audio, plus any other outbound traffic. YouTube recommends leaving 20% upload headroom and checking the actual outbound connection. A wired Ethernet connection can be a useful troubleshooting step if Wi-Fi fluctuates, but it cannot resolve an overloaded network or weak ISP connection. YouTube streaming tips.
Test before going public
- Start an unlisted test stream with representative movement and audio; avoid testing only a static opening frame.
- Watch the Live Control Room preview to confirm the image, resolution, frame rate, and audio are correct.
- Allow the media file to reach its end and confirm the repeat behavior you need.
- Review YouTube’s stream health messages and make sure the connection remains stable before scheduling or starting the public stream.
YouTube advises creators to test before starting a live stream and review stream health during it. YouTube encoder settings and YouTube streaming tips.

Troubleshooting common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to try |
|---|---|---|
| Video stutters or frames drop | The PC cannot decode, scale, and encode smoothly, or the upload connection fluctuates. | Reduce FPS, bitrate, or resolution; close demanding applications; use a supported dedicated hardware encoder if available; check outbound capacity and try wired Ethernet if Wi-Fi is unstable. |
| Stream health reports insufficient bandwidth | Available upload capacity is too close to the stream’s total bitrate, or other traffic is using the connection. | Measure actual outbound performance, leave YouTube’s recommended 20% headroom, and pause other uploads. Lower the stream bitrate if the connection cannot sustain it. |
| Video looks soft or scaled | The media file resolution differs from the 1080p output or is being scaled. | Use a 1920×1080 source when possible and confirm PRISM’s output is set to 1920×1080. |
| Audio is missing or incorrect | Audio may be disabled in the source or output, or the wrong track may be selected. | Enable the intended source audio and verify it in the YouTube preview; use AAC or MP3 for RTMP/RTMPS. |
| The video ends instead of repeating | Autoplay/source activation does not necessarily mean repeat-after-end. | Test the end of the file before going public and verify an explicit repeat function in your installed PRISM version; the cited PRISM media guide does not document an indefinite loop control. |
