The best PS5 Pro games to try depend on what you want to notice: finer image detail, steadier-looking edges, ray tracing, or a higher frame rate. Sony lists more than 100 enhanced PS5 titles and says compatible games can combine PSSR-enhanced 4K output, ray tracing and high frame rates, but the results vary by game. There is no evidence here for a reliable title-by-title resolution or frame-rate ranking, so choose by the game and the kind of visual improvement it offers.
What PS5 Pro enhancements can—and can’t—tell you
Sony says its PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscaling can improve image stability and bring out finer detail. Its PS5 Pro product page says compatible games can run at 60fps, or up to 120fps, with ray tracing and AI-enhanced 4K resolution using PSSR on a 4K TV. That is a description of what compatible games can support, not a promise that every title delivers all those features together. Sony explicitly notes that results vary by game.

The titles below are identified by Sony as PS5 Pro enhanced or as receiving upgraded PSSR support. Treat the visual benefits as game-specific: an enhancement may help image quality without establishing a particular resolution or frame rate. Sony’s March 16, 2026 announcement describes improved detail and image stability for the upgraded PSSR, but those claims are not independent comparative test results.
Best games to try for upgraded PSSR and image quality
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
A strong pick if you want a large-scale role-playing game and are interested in finer image detail and steadier image presentation. Sony includes it among the games receiving upgraded PSSR support and describes the update’s benefits as improved fine detail and image stability. That makes it a sensible showcase to try, not a guarantee of a specific resolution or frame rate.

Silent Hill 2
Choose this one if you want to explore how image-quality improvements affect a visually atmospheric horror game. Sony lists Silent Hill 2 among the upgraded PSSR titles; its general claims are clearer fine details and improved image stability. The announcement does not give a measured performance result for the game.
Alan Wake 2 and Control
These two Remedy games are especially relevant if image stability is what you want to assess. Remedy Graphics Technical Director Tatu Aalto said, “The upgraded PSSR improves image upscaling quality and stability,” and that “Control and, especially, Alan Wake 2 benefit from these improvements on the Pro, resulting in better, more stable image quality.” Those are developer statements, not independent measurements, but they make both games clear examples for trying the upgraded upscaler.
Monster Hunter Wilds
Sony lists Monster Hunter Wilds among the games adopting upgraded PSSR. It is a natural choice if you want an action game with detailed environments to explore, but the announcement does not establish a measured frame-rate result or a specific resolution for it.
Dragon Age: The Veilguard
Try this if you want a role-playing game with both Fidelity and Performance modes. Sony says it supports upgraded PSSR and quotes BioWare Studio Technical Director Maciej Kurowski describing image-quality improvements while maintaining stable frame rates in those modes. That is BioWare’s characterization; Sony’s announcement does not provide independent mode-by-mode measurements.

Nioh 3 and Rise of the Ronin
Sony names both games as adopting upgraded PSSR. For Nioh 3 specifically, Producer Kohei Shibata points to sharper edges on natural objects and retained detail during fast action. That developer description makes Nioh 3 a particularly relevant option if you want to see how image reconstruction looks during movement. Sony’s announcement does not give the same specific developer explanation for Rise of the Ronin.

Sony’s US PlayStation Store category for PS5 Pro enhanced games also includes titles such as The Last of Us Part II, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, DOOM: The Dark Ages and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The US PlayStation Store category is dynamic and regional, so its listings may differ by market or change over time. Sony’s broader PS5 Pro enhanced games list is another place to check what the console supports.
How to choose the right PS5 Pro game for you
- For image stability and fine detail: Start with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Silent Hill 2, Alan Wake 2 or Control, all named in Sony’s upgraded PSSR announcement.
- For a developer-described example during fast action: Nioh 3 is the specific title for which Producer Kohei Shibata discusses retaining detail during movement.
- For Fidelity and Performance mode options: Dragon Age: The Veilguard is the title for which BioWare’s technical director describes stable frame rates across those modes.
- For genre fit: Pick the game you are most interested in playing. A visual enhancement matters less if the genre or game itself is not for you.
- If you already own one: Start there before buying another. The cited sources do not establish a universal visual winner or measured performance ranking.
Sony’s current US product page counts more than 100 enhanced PS5 titles. That is Sony’s count, rather than an independently audited total; availability and category listings can vary by region.
