If you want a puzzle game to play after Order of the Sinking Star, start with Stephen’s Sausage Roll for precise Sokoban-style movement, or choose Patrick’s Parabox for recursive box-pushing. Both offer a focused spatial-puzzle experience, but neither is established as a match for Order of the Sinking Star’s narrative, interconnected worlds, or overall scale.

What makes a good follow-up to Order of the Sinking Star?

Order of the Sinking Star is described by its official site as a narrative adventure with more than 1,000 interconnected, hand-crafted puzzles, unique playable heroes, evolving mechanics, and a mystery. Steam describes four distinct worlds whose mechanics, characters, and stories intersect. Those are official product descriptions, not independently audited puzzle counts or measures of playtime. The official site and Steam listing present the game as a broad, connected adventure rather than a single isolated puzzle system.

The closest choices here are adjacent experiences: one emphasizes careful object placement, the other makes recursive boxes its central rule. Pick based on the kind of spatial problem you want next, not on an assumption that either reproduces the new game’s full structure.

Stephen’s Sausage Roll: for exacting Sokoban-style planning

Stephen’s Sausage Roll is the more direct choice if the appeal is working out movement and object placement one step at a time. Steam lists it as a single-player 3D puzzle game and tags it with Sokoban and Difficult. Its description calls it “A simple 3d puzzle game.” It was released on April 18, 2016. These details come from the Steam listing.

Choose it for a concentrated spatial-planning follow-up: the listed genre and tags point to a puzzle experience built around moving objects through space, rather than the multi-world narrative adventure described for Order of the Sinking Star. The recommendation is based on the official listing, not a hands-on comparison.

Patrick’s Parabox: for recursive box-pushing

Patrick’s Parabox takes box-pushing in a stranger direction. Steam describes boxes that can be pushed into and out of one another, including boxes that contain themselves. That recursive rule gives you a clear reason to choose it if you want a distinct spatial twist rather than a closer Sokoban-style follow-up.
