The Lenovo LOQ 15 is the best RTX 4060 gaming laptop for most buyers in 2026—provided the exact listing has the 115W GPU, a good display, and 16GB of RAM. It offers the right balance of gaming performance, upgradeability, and price. However, an RTX 4060 laptop is no longer automatically a good deal: if an otherwise similar RTX 5060 model costs about the same, choose the newer generation instead.
Our other picks are the ASUS TUF Gaming A15/F15 for maximum RTX 4060 performance, the HP Victus 16 for a larger screen and stronger battery-life prospects, the Acer Nitro V for value, and the Dell G16 as a clearance option.

1. Lenovo LOQ 15: best overall
The Lenovo LOQ 15 is the safest default recommendation because its RTX 4060 configuration combines a useful power limit with features that can improve gaming performance. Lenovo lists the LOQ 15APH8 with an RTX 4060, 8GB of GDDR6 memory, up to 115W of GPU power, a MUX switch, and Advanced Optimus. See Lenovo’s official LOQ 15 specifications for the relevant platform details.
#1 Best Overall
- Screen: 15.6" 144Hz FHD Thin Bezel IPS
- Processor: Intel Core i5-13420H
- Memory: 16GB DDR4
- Storage: 512GB NVMe SSD
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8GB Laptop GPU
That makes it a stronger buy than an ultra-cheap RTX 4060 laptop capped at 75W or 85W, assuming the prices are reasonably close. It is well suited to 1080p gaming at high settings, while DLSS can help in demanding games or with ray tracing.
Which LOQ 15 configuration should you buy?
- RTX 4060 listed at 115W or close to it.
- 16GB RAM at minimum; 32GB is preferable for streaming, editing, modded games, or long-term ownership.
- A 1TB SSD if possible. A 512GB drive is usable but fills quickly with Windows and modern games.
- A 144Hz or 165Hz panel with at least 300 nits and clearly stated color coverage.
- An exact SKU that confirms the display, GPU power limit, battery, and upgrade options.
The LOQ’s compromises are its ordinary battery life in tested configurations and the inconsistent quality of its optional panels. Do not buy it solely because a listing says “LOQ 15” or “RTX 4060.”
2. ASUS TUF Gaming A15/F15: best for RTX 4060 performance
Choose the ASUS TUF A15 or F15 when the priority is extracting as much performance as possible from the RTX 4060. Benchmark listings include TUF A15 configurations with a 140W RTX 4060, above the 115W limit specified for the LOQ configuration. The Notebookcheck RTX 4060 database illustrates why the exact TUF model matters.
A 140W GPU can outperform a lower-power RTX 4060, but the difference is not guaranteed to be dramatic. Cooling, the CPU’s power limits, memory configuration, game engine, and laptop performance mode all affect sustained results. Higher wattage is an advantage, not a complete performance specification.
The main risk is the display. Some TUF configurations use panels around 250 nits with limited color coverage. That may be acceptable for a gaming desk but disappointing for school, work, photo editing, or media. Check the panel specification on the exact ASUS TUF model before purchase.
3. HP Victus 16: best large-screen option
The HP Victus 16 is a sensible alternative for buyers who want a 16.1-inch screen and a laptop that can also serve as a general-purpose computer. Depending on the model, HP lists RTX 4060 power levels around 120W or higher, and independent testing has found favorable battery-life results in some Victus 16 configurations.
Those advantages are configuration-dependent. HP’s GPU performance specifications show that power limits differ across its laptop families. Even within the Victus range, an RTX 4060 should not be assumed to have the same wattage: one Victus 15 configuration is listed at only 75W.

Buy the Victus 16 when its larger display and battery behavior matter more than premium materials. Confirm the panel’s brightness and color coverage, since a large, fast screen can still look dull or washed out.
4. Acer Nitro V 15/16: best value when heavily discounted
The Acer Nitro V range is worth considering when it is clearly cheaper than a better-powered LOQ or TUF. Acer sells RTX 4060 versions in several sizes, including 15- and 16-inch models. The tested Nitro V 16 configuration reviewed by RTINGS used an RTX 4060 with an 85W TGP, substantially below the 115W and 140W examples above. See the RTINGS Nitro V 16 review and Acer’s RTX 4060 listings for configuration-specific details.
An 85W Nitro V can still deliver good 1080p gaming, especially when its price, 16:10 display, CPU, or storage package is attractive. It should not cost nearly as much as a 115W or 140W rival with comparable memory and storage.
Before buying, check whether the listing includes 16GB RAM, whether the SSD is upgradeable, and whether the screen is the 16:10 panel you expect. “Nitro V 15” and “Nitro V 16” cover multiple hardware combinations.

The Dell G16 can make sense if you find the older G16 7630 at a substantial clearance discount. Its larger display is the main attraction, but it is not the default recommendation in 2026 because availability is inconsistent and the relevant product listing represents an older platform. Check the Dell G16 7630 page for current stock, warranty terms, and the exact configuration.
Do not rely on an expired promotion or a third-party listing with incomplete specifications. The G16 is only compelling when it is new or properly refurbished, covered by a suitable return policy, and meaningfully cheaper than newer alternatives.
Is an RTX 4060 gaming laptop still worth buying in 2026?
Yes—but only at the right price. The RTX 4060 remains a capable 1080p laptop GPU with 8GB of memory and support for NVIDIA’s RTX feature set, including DLSS technologies. NVIDIA’s RTX 40 Series laptop information provides the official feature overview.

It is no longer the newest generation, however. RTX 5060 laptops are now part of the same buying conversation. Buy the RTX 4060 when it is clearly cheaper or when it offers a better screen, build, storage configuration, or warranty. Choose the RTX 5060 when the price difference is small and the rest of the specifications are similar.
There is no permanent universal price ceiling because retailer discounts and configurations change. As an editorial rule, an RTX 4060 deal should be substantially below a comparable RTX 5060 laptop. A listing with 8GB RAM, 512GB storage, an undisclosed GPU power limit, and a dim display is a poor deal even if its headline price looks low.
How much RTX 4060 wattage should you look for?
- 115W or more: the preferred range for a performance-focused purchase.
- 140W: desirable when the price premium is small and the cooling system is adequate.
- 80W–100W: acceptable for value or thinner designs, but it should be discounted.
- 75W or less: consider only when the laptop is substantially cheaper or has an unusually good screen, battery, or chassis.
TGP is important because two laptops with the same RTX 4060 name can produce different sustained performance. It is not the only factor: thermals, CPU limits, RAM configuration, drivers, game settings, and whether the internal display is driven through a MUX path also matter.
What display should an RTX 4060 laptop have?
For most buyers, 1080p is the easiest resolution for the RTX 4060 to drive at high settings. A 1200p 16:10 panel is also a good productivity choice, though it renders more pixels than 1080p. A 144Hz or 165Hz refresh rate suits competitive and general gaming, but refresh rate alone does not make a panel good.
Prefer a screen with:
- At least 300 nits for mixed indoor use.
- 100% sRGB or clearly stated wide-gamut coverage for better image quality.
- A response time that does not produce obvious ghosting.
- 1080p or 1200p resolution unless you specifically accept the performance cost of a higher-resolution panel.
Check the exact panel specification. Budget gaming laptops often pair strong GPUs with dim screens and narrow color coverage.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:

16GB RAM is the minimum I would recommend in 2026. Choose 32GB for heavy multitasking, streaming, video editing, large mods, or longer ownership. Also verify whether the memory runs in a dual-channel configuration and whether it can be upgraded.
1TB of SSD storage is preferable. A 512GB SSD remains functional, but Windows, updates, applications, and a few modern games can consume most of it. Confirm that the laptop has a second drive slot or a replaceable SSD before treating 512GB as an acceptable compromise.

CPU choice matters, but a premium processor cannot compensate for a weak GPU configuration or poor display. Ryzen 7 HS chips are often balanced choices, while Intel HX processors can provide more CPU performance at the cost of heat and power. A sensible H-series CPU is enough for many value systems if the cooling and price are right.
Battery life and portability
Treat these laptops as plugged-in gaming machines. Gaming on battery normally reduces performance, and high-power GPUs require large chargers. The LOQ 15’s 60Wh battery and tested wireless-runtime results are not class-leading, while the Victus 16 has received more favorable battery-life commentary in comparable testing.
Battery figures from different reviews are not directly interchangeable unless the brightness, display, power mode, browser workload, and test method match. If unplugged endurance is important, prioritize the specific review and battery capacity rather than the laptop family name.
Why a MUX switch and Advanced Optimus matter
A MUX switch can let the discrete GPU drive the internal display more directly, potentially improving gaming performance and reducing display-path latency. Advanced Optimus can automate switching between integrated and discrete graphics, balancing performance and battery behavior.
The LOQ 15APH8 specification explicitly lists both a MUX switch and Advanced Optimus. Their practical benefit depends on the game and display path, but they are valuable features for a performance-focused buyer.
Can an RTX 4060 laptop play modern games?
Yes. Its natural target is 1080p gaming at high settings, with sensible compromises for ray tracing. DLSS can help in demanding titles, while native 1600p gaming is more difficult and may require upscaling or reduced settings.

- Prefer 115W or higher unless the price is much lower.
- Check for a MUX switch or Advanced Optimus.
- Confirm the exact display’s brightness, color coverage, resolution, and refresh rate.
- Buy 16GB RAM at minimum and preferably 1TB SSD storage.
- Check whether RAM and storage are upgradeable.
- Compare the price with an equivalent RTX 5060 laptop.
- Verify whether the unit is new, refurbished, open-box, or sold by a third party.
- Confirm warranty coverage and the retailer’s return policy.
Our final picks
- Best overall: Lenovo LOQ 15 with the 115W RTX 4060, 16GB RAM, a good 144Hz or 165Hz display, and preferably a 1TB SSD.
- Best performance: ASUS TUF Gaming A15/F15 with a verified 140W RTX 4060.
- Best large screen: HP Victus 16, provided the exact SKU has a suitably powered GPU and a worthwhile panel.
- Best value: Acer Nitro V 15/16, but only when its lower-power GPU is reflected in the price.
- Best clearance option: Dell G16 7630 when available with a full warranty at a meaningful discount.
For every pick, compare the complete configuration rather than the GPU label. In 2026, the best RTX 4060 laptop is the one that delivers enough of a discount—or enough extra screen, storage, build quality, or battery value—to justify choosing an older GPU generation.
