MADFINGER Games’ current guidance is to choose upscaling by graphics-card vendor and generation, then use the game’s internal benchmark tool—when available—to tune the rest for your hardware. The recommendations below are starting points, not results from a controlled FPS test.
Start with the upscaler recommended for your GPU
MADFINGER recommends different upscaling options depending on your graphics card. Select the matching option in the game’s graphics settings if it is available for your hardware; exact menu labels may change between builds.
| GPU | Developer’s starting point | What to choose |
|---|---|---|
| NVIDIA RTX 40 series | DLSS | Use DLSS. For RTX 40-series players who want DLSS Frame Generation, MADFINGER also recommends enabling Windows hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling. |
| Older, lower-performance NVIDIA cards, including 30-series and below | FSR with Frame Generation | Choose Performance or Balanced super resolution as a starting point. MADFINGER does not provide a single setting for every card or a measured FPS uplift. |
| AMD graphics | FSR | Choose an FSR super-resolution mode and, if supported, Frame Generation. The developer frames the choice as a balance between performance and image quality. |
| Intel graphics | XeSS | Use XeSS if the option is available for your card and current game build. |
| Other or newer GPU generations | No specific recommendation stated by MADFINGER’s guidance | Use the in-game benchmark tool where available and compare options on your own system rather than assuming another generation’s advice applies. |
These are developer recommendations, not a tested universal preset. MADFINGER’s performance guidance does not publish a complete list of graphics settings or their individual FPS effects.
Use the in-game benchmark to tune beyond the upscaler
Patch 0.3.5.0 introduced an internal benchmark tool that suggests settings based on player hardware. Run it if it is available in your version, apply its suggested baseline, then compare changes on the same PC and in comparable conditions. Change one setting at a time so you can tell which adjustment helps on your system.

MADFINGER’s November 6, 2025 Patch 0.3.5.0 notes describe the benchmark and performance work, but do not publish comparative FPS results for a universal settings list. No named, reproducible FPS test is established by the official sources cited here, so exact gains cannot be promised.
Decide whether frame generation suits your use
Frame generation is a developer-recommended option for some GPU and upscaler combinations, but support depends on the card and the available game options. It is not automatically the right choice for every player: the cited official guidance does not quantify latency or image-quality differences. Compare it with frame generation off in the situations where you play, and keep the option that feels and looks better to you.

Patch 0.4.5.0, dated June 25, 2026, says DLSS 4.5 added 6X and Dynamic Frame Generation for supported NVIDIA graphics cards. That change does not establish that either option is available on every NVIDIA card or preferable for latency-sensitive play. See the Patch 0.4.5.0 notes and check the options shown by your current build.
Check drivers, stutter, and system requirements
- Update graphics drivers. MADFINGER recommends current drivers in its performance guidance.
- Expect possible early stutter. The developer warns that gameplay at the start and first visits to locations may stutter before stabilizing. A brief hitch in those situations does not, by itself, establish that a settings change failed.
- Check the storage and memory requirements. Steam’s listing specifies an SSD and 16 GB RAM minimum, with 32 GB RAM recommended. These are requirements, not a promise of higher FPS. The full Steam system requirements also list supported CPUs, GPUs, Windows versions, and storage needs.
If you have less than the recommended memory, first confirm your motherboard’s supported memory generation and your current configuration before considering an upgrade. Steam’s requirements do not show that adding RAM beyond an adequate capacity increases FPS. Likewise, the SSD requirement does not establish an average-FPS improvement from changing drives.

What the performance patches do—and do not—show
MADFINGER’s November 6, 2025 Patch 0.3.5.0 notes describe an Unreal Engine 5.5 upgrade, rendering parallelization intended to improve performance on mid- and lower-end CPUs, and additional optimization work. The developer reported about 400 MB less VRAM use and about 2 GB less RAM use across systems; those are developer-reported figures, not independent measurements or a guarantee for a particular PC.
The Spearhead release notes report performance improvements on lower-end GPUs and reduced memory use. They also state that changing the frame-generation method requires restarting the game, so restart after switching methods if the new selection does not take effect.
